A structured approach to instructing BJJ. From basic fundamental necessities to technical complexities. This school covers it all. All while building each other up in a community of like minded people. So, whether you're a hobbyist, competitor, just looking to get in better shape, or to learn some self defense; I can assure you that this is the place for you. See you on the mats! 🥋
Posted 1 year agoI can't say enough positive things about this place. Jiu jitsu is difficult, so you're going to be pushed, but everyone was new at one point, so they'll take the time to teach you. Professor Ronda is incredible. Techniques are broken down, demonstrated, then observed while you work through them yourself. Everyone is welcoming, and if you put in the effort on the mat, they become more than friends. They become your family. You won't find a more difficult or more rewarding workout. And where you train matters. Train here. You won't regret it.
Posted 1 year agoI’ve been coming to Professor Ronda’s classes for about a year now and my only regret is I didn’t start sooner. Her teaching style is structured, with a clear and concise sense of direction and focus. She is very passionate about jiu jitsu and will guide her students to greatness, as long as they allow her to do so. I recommend this school to anyone who is ready to get uncomfortable and push themselves to a new level. FIVE STARS.
Posted 1 year agoQuality and top notch teaching from Miss Professor Ronda Andrews. The vibes and atmosphere makes training and learning the art enjoyable. Always learning new ways of improving techniques and methods. I highly recommend anyone from beginners to advanced practitioners to come and be a part of the GH family! Kids and even itty bitty’s as old as 4 can start learning their fundamentals from the best. Classes are well organized, Mats are well taken care of, and the school itself is VERY CLEAN. Gracie Humaita is were you feel welcomed, safe, and happy to be at.
Posted 1 year agoAbsolutely wonderful school! Great instructors with clear instructions and a wealth of knowledge. Morning and afternoon classes are very accommodating. From beginner to advanced, from casual learning to competition training, this school is where you want to go to learn quality jiu jitsu.
Posted 1 year agoStopped by visiting from out of town. Ronda is an amazing instructor and I learned some key new BJJ details in the fundamentals class that will surely help me in my journey. Looking forward to stopping by again in the future! A great fun safe and clean experience.
Dropped in for a night from OOT. This place is well run / organized. High level jiujitsu but very friendly, welcoming environment. Very clean mats. Got a great workout. I would definitely train here if I lived in Vegas!
The professors were awesome. I had the benefit of training with both professors. They teach excellent jiu jitsu in the sense that if you do the technique properly the results are amazing. Thank you for having me
I have been off the mat for a while but this is exactly what I need to boost my serotonin levels. Professor Rhonda was so clear with her direction and overall welcoming. I will return.
Single female, two stripe white belt who was looking to get a bit of training in while on vacation. Professor Ronda was very welcoming and made me feel really comfortable. I took the Fundamentals class and enjoyed it so much, I stayed for the adult class afterwards. She took the time to show step by step moves I hadn’t been introduced to yet in a clear and concise manner. ALL of the people training at the gym were very helpful and friendly! So much fun while getting an amazing work out! I highly recommend checking this gym out whether on vacation, looking to start up BJJ and are a little nervous or have been rolling for a while.
If you're looking for your new ju jitsu spot, stop in and say hi. I dropped in for a roll this morning, only to be greeted with a warm welcome by Professor Ronda Andrews and the rest of her students. I know ju jitsu can be very intimidating from the outside looking in, but this academy is a true reflection of the family atmosphere and brotherhood you can expect once you step on the mats. Highly recommended. I will definitely be back.
Change your life with this Academy! Awesome instructor!
It is one of if not the best place for self defence. For a fact I am actually a student here and I believe that Jiu-Jitsu is super underrated you guys have to try it and they also offer a 1 week free trial in case you don't like it
Ronda and her staff are the best. I've know ronda for over 15 years now and she is an amazing person and an exceptional instructor. Her kids classes are top notch?
Great instructors, awesome academy and wonderful people!
Choosing Gracie Humaita West Craig was the best decision I made. I was struggling with weight loss and came in at 194lbs on a 5’7 frame. Once I made the effort to really watch what I eat and commit to attending class consistently I dropped 32lbs quickly. Professor Ronda has been one of my biggest supporters and keeps me motivated to keep progressing. This school has a family atmosphere and is very welcoming. Professor Ronda teaches us proper jiu jitsu technique along with control, patience, and etiquette. If you're looking to learn jiu jitsu join us with confidence!
If I could give this Academy 10 stars I would. Professor Ronda has created a school that no other can compare too. She has worked and I mean worked hard from the ground up to get where she is at and will make you do the same if you let her. I first came to her academy after an abusive relationship and my life has changed for the better. She has this gift of not being one sided and is able to help ALL body types reach their full potential. Her instruction is never my way or no way. She values technique over winning any given day which you will see in all of her students. I never thought I would do Jiujitsu ever in my life let alone compete but Ronda truly helps you open doors of what you think are impossible. I came to her school broke and intimidated and came out a Pan Ams Champ solely based on the phenomenal technique and instruction Ronda has provided over the years. I promise you won’t regret joining West Craig Gracie Humaita. Nor will you regret having Ronda as your instructor. West Craig is home to many great people. You will gain so much knowledge/technique about Jiujitsu and build life long friendship/family who are eager to help you along your Jiujitsu journey. Ps: Any negative feedback you may see might just be someone who lacks technique and has yet learned how to check their ego at the door
Rhonda is one of the best instructors I could have ever asked for. Although I am just 16, Rhonda and all the people in the adult class have done their absolute best to ensure my safety. In the 6 years I have been going there I haven't been injured once.
I have never moved as smart and efficiently before I came here. Ronda makes sure you understand the techniques and that no one is left behind. I wish I can take this school everywhere I go, because when I come here I feel at peace.
Such an amazing academy. Everyone is friendly and welcoming, and the instruction is world-class.
Mr. Howard Owen, I am a student at Gracie Humaita Las Vegas. I am currently a three-stripe blue belt and also competed at Pan Ams where your friend, unfortunately, got injured. I am sorry about that. I don't like to see anyone get injured. I have that match recorded on my phone. I watched it quite a few times now and I am sorry to inform you that the technique that was applied to your training partner is not illegal. The technique used is called Lockdown from half guard. This is when the outside leg of the individual who is down on the ground comes over the top of their opponent’s leg and then proceeds to hook their opponent’s leg with their inside leg. As your opponent’s leg is now hooked you then take the bridge of the foot of your inside leg and place it on the bridge of the foot of your opponents. From here there are a number of things that one can do to off-balance their opponent. Jake chose to extend his legs to get your training partner off balance, Howard. Your teammate did exactly what he should not have done and that is trying to power out of it. A legal technique was performed and your partner’s reaction was not correct. It happens, especially in our sport. This is why we competitors sign waivers. You can find the definition of a knee reaping on page 32, the first paragraph of the IBJJF rule book. They even provide you with pictures. Next, Jake is not an instructor at Gracie Humaita Las Vegas. He is a student just like I am. He is one of the nicest gentlemen I have met in my Jiu-jitsu journey. He and I have had many back and forth battles that have always ended with a handshake and from time to time questions on what the other was trying to accomplish in certain positions. Our lead instructor is Professor Ronda Andrews. Who is a phenomenal instructor that hits on all the fine details of the art we choose to practice. She is not a cheater, nor does she condone it. Professor Andrews runs her academy with dignity and most of all with respect. Especially respect for your opponent. If you want to point fingers at who is wrong here first educate yourself with the technique and the rules of our sport. Professor Ronda is not responsible for your teammate’s safety. The referee on that mat is the one responsible for the competitor’s safety, not your opponent’s instructor. If the technique applied was truly illegal I am sure that your instructor would have voiced his concern to the referee on the mat. I know that’s what my coach and teammates would have done if they truly believed that the technique being used is illegal. IBJJF has been doing this for some time now. Though mistakes can be made, a mistake did not happen here. This is an unfortunate accident that comes with our sport. I wish your training partner a speedy recovery so he can get back on the mat sooner than later. OOOS
Brian and Rhonda are very professional and informative when it comes to training these kids. They are doing an excellent job. Keep up the great work guys! Thank you.
I promise you, that you will find no better place than this. Trainers are friendly, they will work with you, they will help as much as they can, and this place is the real deal.
Awesome, family oriented martial arts training for self-defense, sport, & fun. We love the instructors like family!!! Oss! Stanford Family
Family atmosphere. I lost 30 pounds, gained muscle, and lowered my blood pressure. I also met many new people. This gym changed my life for the better.
Great and friendly instructors. Always willing to go the extra mile with children and adults alike.
I have both my children and myself in this academy. We have been there for just over a year and we all love it. For me it has given me a new lease on life at 39 years old and for my children the benefits have been boundless. Brian and Rhonda are 2 of the best jiu jitsu instructors in Las Vegas very good with children and helpful with adults of any learning capacity. I highly recommend Gracie Humaita Wesr Craig if you live in the area.
This is the best school with the best professors! Super clean, friendly, affordable, and everyone connects as a family. Our whole family takes classes and we all love this place!
