This is the best Jiu Jitsu school in the world for me and for my husband. We both train here and we both feel we are home. I’m a woman training Jiu Jitsu here every day. I feel very safe. I roll with another women, but most of the time I roll with men. I have never been disrespected here by anybody when training and rolling. I learn so much here since the moment I arrive to the mat. As a woman I can happily say this is the right place for a woman to learn self defense without being disrespected by a man. It’s a high level self defense school same than a high level women respect environment. Every profesor here loves what they do. Their passion for the sport is over the limit. You can easily feel the positive vibes. The mat is always clean and the restroom too. Very well located in the heart of Kendall, the parking area is also very safe and huge. If you have never try Jiu Jitsu or any other martial art this is the right school to start with at any age. Professor George also very good person and very respectful human being. My two kids and myself have been part of this Team for a long time. Not only the professors but the entire team makes us feel at home every time we show up. I am one of those guys that like to challenge and compete with my own self…not with others. So, I love the fact there is minimal pressure to participate in competitions. Training is stress free, most of the pressure to progress comes within and to help others to progress. I would recommend this academy to anyone looking to improve their physical, mental and spiritual performance.

Professor Lazaro is the best martial arts teacher I have ever had and working with him the pst two years has been very exceptional. I started jiujitsu with NO experience in grappling and now I feel extremely confident with my self defense. The team atmosphere at this gym is like no other, the people here are just amazing. Joined the gym as a huge fam of mma and combar sports and went to this one because a friend reccomended it to me. From the first lesson I felt very welcomed into the mat and I was treated with respect and a lot of patience. Everyone in this gym is very humble, authentic, passionate, and knowledgeable about BJJ. Professor Lazaro is very caring and passionate about his students and he has created an amazing gym with a very close family of outstanding athletes!

Professor Lazaro is a diamond of an instructor in Miami who doesn't get the attention he deserves. I've trained with him for a few years and have always been impressed by the care he has given myself and my family members. Professor Lazaro loves jiu jitsu and it shows both in his character and his teachings. Many of his students are easily able to make progress with the attention and care he gives. In a time where everyone is worried about sanitizing, the environment is meticulously clean as he is very adamant about tidiness and cleanliness. Absolutely amazing place to train and family friendly. I started my journey about a year and a half ago. I can honestly feel like I have a new family at this location. Everyone is always willing to help you and are actually excited at witnessing you get better at your BJJ game. No Egos allowed. Complete humbleness and professionalism from everyone at the school. The main instructor has a zero tolerance policy for egos. I find it very enjoyable to go learn and let the stress go with friendly grappling.

Since my wife and I joined back in August, the only negative thought I have had is “Why didn’t I start here sooner?” Whether you seek to compete, learn the gentle art, or just get in great exercise, professor Laz is a patient, fair, and a extremely observant teacher. Aside from Laz, school is filled with a strong sense of community. Despite being a very individual, one-on-one sport, this team is a family. You also, wont find a cleaner mat space and facility! Best Jiu jitsu instruction in Miami. I recently had back surgery and our instructor cares and takes the time to make sure you’re not over extending yourself and looking out for your well being. This is rare in Jiu jitsu gyms.

Many words come to mind when I think of Miami JiuJitsu Team- patience, loyalty, integrity, and most importantly, family. Jiujitsu is a tough sport where you battle against your mind everyday. With this team, you do not have to go through your battles alone. Everyone in the gym always has your back no matter what. Professor Laz has cultivated a wonderful place where he emphasizes the importance of being a better version of yourself.
Ive been lucky to have been training with Laz since 2020, and if you have kids who are also interested in jiujitsu, this is the place to learn. I have seen him actively teach anti bully methods to kids and they leave with much more confidence and eagerness to come back the next day.
Trust me when I say I was not fit at all and can barely do the warmups. Laz was/ is patient and never allowed me to say “I can’t.”
I hope you can join our team!!
P.S The gym is always nice and organized, with a clean bathroom as well.

Moving from Connecticut to Miami and being a veteran I was searching for a new school to join and one of my good friends led me to Miami Jiu Jitsu team where I was welcomed with open arms. The school has amazing students that I call family today and a marvelous Professor that takes his time with teaching each student to find their own way in Jiu Jitsu. From adult beginner and advanced classes to kids classes my Professors school really is a true staple in our community in his efforts to better everyone that walks through his door. Also its a huge help in weight loss i joined the team at 275 pounds and dropped to about 237 with lots of hard work, dedication, and help from my classmates and Professor. If you want a place to feel comfortable, train, and call your second home I highly recommend this school to beginners and advanced martial artists.

The best decision I made was to start jiu jitsu more than 5 years ago. I walked into Miami Jiu Jitsu team and felt right at home. Professor Laz’s no bs but fun-loving approach to teaching sets the setting for a wonderful environment to learn and grow day by day. The team and team coaches welcome you with open arms and truly want to help. Egos and problems are checked at the door, as everyone looks to get better while making teammates better in the process. With classes throughout the day and all week, the schedule makes it very reasonable to balance training, work, and family on a daily/weekly basis. I walked into a gym with strangers and have gained an extended family that has helped me in more ways than I could ever imagine. I can’t wait for my daughter to get a little bit older so she can join the kids classes and eventually join the adult classes! Miami Jiu Jitsu team is my home away from home! I live in train in SoCal but visit family in Miami at least once a year. Laz has opened up his gym to me for the last few years now, after I found out an old friend of mine trained here.
Laz is the most relaxed and technical instructors I've come across. His jiu jitsu is amazingly precise and you see his techniques at the highest level of the sport. The people here are what make it great. They are friendly, talented, and incredibly welcoming. The gym is clean and has everything you need to become a certified ninja! Anytime I'm in Miami, this is my place, and these are my people.
