The training is fine and the people are nice, but for anyone on the fence about joining this gym you better not get sick or move because they lock you in a contract for when you have to cancel you gotta pay 1/3 of the year or 6months poor business practice. Just ask the gyms if you have to pay to cancel your membership and that should be a deciding factor

Best Bjj /mma gym in the state(Maryland) with a super kids program and an awesome adult program as well. And the cool thing about it is you learn with some of the best Bjj team in the world .

Lloyd Irvin Mixed Martial Arts Academy is an amazing institution. The personal experiences that my family and I have had over the years have been life changing. Training with Lloyd Irvin helped reignite the principles and commitment to excellence that were instilled in me growing up and during my time in the military. He and his staff were always respectful and helpful willing to stop and take a moment to chat about anything from martial arts to life, politics and movies. Stopping in for a brief visit in 2008 was one of the best things I could have ever done in regards to life long personal investment.

I have been at Lloyd Irvin Mixed Martial Arts with my son since he was 3 years old (he's 8 now). I have thoroughly enjoyed the instruction and discipline that has been taught to him. I've liked it so much so that I began talking classes myself over a year ago. Since taking classes, I've lost a tremendous amount of weight and improved my overall health and fitness level. LIMMA is more than a gym, it is a family oriented establishment with a circle of people that will motivate and support you in achieving your goals.

I wasn’t going to give any details of why I gave one star rating but since the owner wants to lie about never having me as a student, I guess I give some details. First all most of the coaches are amazing people and great coaches so now that we got the only good part out of the way, let’s get into what’s bad about it. You do not get any one on one coaching and for the price you expect that. You mostly working with other students. They claimed that Master Lloyd is always there teaching and for the five months I went there he only taught one of my classes. They (management/owner) don’t care about you more than they care about their money don’t let the smiles fool you. If for some reason your life changes and you can no longer attend, you still have to pay until you complete a year or pay 1/3 of what’s left of the year you sign up for. If you paid for the whole year you are screwed. Morning classes are . I have been there waiting out and inside the gym waiting for a coach to show up. Again you expect more for the price you pay. In summary amazing people and coaches but poor management and system. I understand is a business but you win more by helping your customers instead of screwing them over by making them pay for service they are not receiving. Note: your initial payment doesn’t count toward any future cancellation fee
