Super active classes and a great atmosphere, excellent training area
Had an amazing class here taught by Professor Dain!! Really great coach and great gym!
Started training here a few months ago and honestly… this place made me fall in love with BJJ... As an adult beginner with zero MMA experience , walking into a martial arts gym can feel intimidating, but the environment here is completely different. The community the professors and coaches have built is respectful, friendly, fun, and super welcoming.Juliano and Konstantine very great support from Day 1. Everyone trains hard, but nobody is trying to hurt or “prove a point” against beginners. People here really know how to roll competitively while still staying safe and controlled. One thing I genuinely appreciate is the structure of the classes. Both Gi and No-Gi classes have a really good balance between technique and live rolling, so you actually get to apply what you learn instead of just drilling endlessly. I also love that important techniques, escapes, and chokes get refreshed regularly in dedicated classes — it helps a lot with retaining concepts over time. Added benefits are the Sunday Open mats where you get to test your development with cross teams since KING JUIJITSU is multi location gym... Big shoutout to Professor Dane and Prof. Gustavo🥋. Both of them have been incredibly supportive and always push everyone to improve little by little every class. They’re patient, approachable, and never make you feel stupid for asking questions. You can keep asking until you fully understand the technique, and they’ll still explain it with the same positive attitude. That kind of teaching style makes a huge difference, especially for newer students. Another thing that stands out is how mindful the professors are about injuries and responsible rolling. Safety is clearly taken seriously here, and it creates an environment where people can train consistently without unnecessary ego. Communication is also really well handled — updates are always shared properly through Instagram and WhatsApp, so you’re never left confused about schedules or announcements. You can also tell the instructors are very knowledgeable not just in BJJ, but in other martial arts like Judo and grappling, which adds a lot to the quality of teaching. Plus many coaches train internationally to get best exposure. If you’re an adult thinking “maybe I’m too late to start BJJ” — trust me, you’re not. This is an amazing place to start the journey. Only small suggestion: it would be awesome if the names of techniques taught in class or a small weekly summary could be shared in WhatsApp. It would help students revise and look up details later outside class. Overall, great people, great energy, and an amazing place to train 💯 Highly recommended..Ossssss
This place is amazing and great for all ages. Classes can be a bit busy but that only says 1 thing about this place. The workers provide structure and dedication to every child’s needs. I highly recommend this place over many others I have tried.
My son's been attending classes for 4 months now and he loves it. He received his first stripe and is learning from great instructors and professors. The motivation, support and encouragement that the instructors and professors exhibit is priceless and I believe is helping my son grow into a strong and confident man. Thank you.
My 12-year-old daughter has been taking classes here for about three years and LOVES it! Professor Greg and ALL of the teachers are AMAZING! The teachers are great at instilling technique AND good character and respect. It’s a wonderful community of students and parents.
Great place for your kids to learn and apply BJJ. More importantly, the Professors are kind, caring and patient. Thank you for all that you do for our kids!
Posted 1 year agoSigning my kids up for KingJiuJitsu academy has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made for them. From the very first class, I noticed a shift—not just physically, but mentally and emotionally. Their confidence has skyrocketed, and it’s been amazing to watch them grow more self-assured and resilient each week. What’s made the biggest impact is how supportive and encouraging the instructors and the coaches are. They truly care about each child, and it shows in the way they teach, motivate, and connect with the students. My kids feel safe, seen, and empowered every time they step on the mat. This place isn’t just a gym—it’s a community. The energy is always positive, and there’s a real sense of belonging. My kids look forward to every single class and are always excited to go, even on the tough days. Watching them develop not just their skills, but also discipline, respect, and self-belief, has been incredible. This academy has truly given my children the boost they needed, and I couldn't be more grateful.
Posted 1 year agoMy son has tried every possible sport and could not find anything that would stick. From the very first class at Vaughan Jiujitsu my son was hooked! The instructors are top notch and do an excellent job teaching. Maor is great with the kids - fun and full of patience. I couldn’t recommend this place enough!
Posted 1 year agoGreat place to train BJJ in Vaughan. Professors Gregg and Dane are incredible coaches for both kids and adults. They make you feel welcome from day one. Space is spacious and tidy. Always friendly rolls at open mat times. Thanks King Jiu Jitsu Vaughan!
Posted 1 year agoThis is the best thing for your kids, they teach them discipline, respect and teamwork. The instructors at King Jiu Jitsu Vaughan are incredible, they are wonderful with the kids. They have fun and want to come back for more. Professor Gregg, Pavel, Dane and Maor are wonderful instructors who truly love the craft.
Posted 1 year agoOur son was very enthusiastic to start this sport for the first time, but at the course, he felt weak and inadequate next to the other children. Having no prior experience, he received neither sufficient encouragement and support from the coaches nor grew to like the environment; therefore, he only attended classes for the first 3 days of the first week and did not want to continue. Due to a communication gap and language differences during registration, the automatic payment details were not fully clear to us at the time. After paying for the first month, a second month's fee of 197.75 CAD for an unused period was charged to our card automatically. Although the first week is normally a trial period and free of charge, out of respect for our son's initial enthusiasm, we requested that only the fee for those first 3 days be deducted and the remaining balance be refunded to us. When we contacted them via email to explain the situation and request a refund, we were met with an unhelpful and indifferent attitude. This is a business that completely disregards customer satisfaction and operates purely out of commercial concerns. I definitely do not recommend them; think twice before enrolling your child here. Bank payment receipts regarding all of these circumstances are available on hand. In response to your reply: The business claims that stopping future charges was a "gesture of good will." However, the payment was made from my card, while the registration was handled by my husband under a language barrier. True good will would have been calling to ask why our son stopped attending after the first 3 days during the 2 months he was absent, instead of automatically charging an unused month. Claiming credit for stopping future charges while keeping payment for a service never rendered is entirely unfair. If we hadn't noticed this automatic charge ourselves, it's clear you would have continued charging our card every month without ever checking why the child wasn't attending.
