We were visiting from Arizona and our kids tried a class at JJBJJ. We - us parents and our kids - were just so impressed with this academy. Professor Julio was very welcoming to all of us. He and his kids, the coaches of that kids class, offered great advice to our kids during each of their matches. You can tell they care about the development of their students. We look forward to visiting again in the future!

My son and I popped in for a class in December while visiting from Vancouver BC. Our friends had just moved to Santa Clarita earlier in 2022 and this was the club they discovered nearby. I can see why they chose JJBJJ. Nice gym with great coaching and a great vibe created by the other students. I'd definitely recommend the club to anyone living in the area.

This is an excellent dojo with a wonderful head instructor and top-notch assistant instructors. Professor Juarez is a senior student of one of the most legendary figures in all of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Jean Jacques Machado, from whom Joe Rogan, Eddie Bravo, and many other influencers received their black belts. The atmosphere at JJBJJ is warm and welcoming, and the students range from beginners to black belts. We are lucky to have Professor Juarez in Santa Clarita and I strongly recommend JJBJJ to anyone –– from kids to adults middle-aged and older –– wanting to get in shape and learn effective self-defense.

I started here a few months ago and Julio really took his time to show me the ropes. I always look forward to going to class because I learn something new each time. The higher belts are always willing to help me improve my skills. Julio is awesome and I would highly recommend his class to anyone who is interested.

This academy is amazing. Everyone respects each other and ego is out of the building. Everyone helps each other out and it’s kid friendly. I’ve been training here for a while and I can’t picture myself training somewhere else. Julio treats everyone as equal and has a vast amount of experience under his belt. You don’t need to be fit, strong, flexible, etc. This academy makes everyone feel comfortable. If you want to come and check it out? you should! jui jitsu can be very addicting so you have been warned.

I have been training in various martial arts for the last 12 years. Both my Son and I started training at Julio Juarez BJJ school and love it!! Very professional and clean environment. Professor Juarez provides detail instruction on various techniques. Both his instructors and student are great to deal with which makes the training fun. Best school in the area.

This is the first and only Jiu-Jitsu gym that I have ever signed up for and I have nothing but positive things to say about it. The environment is great for learning and the instructors genuinely care about teaching every student the proper techniques for the sport.

I've been training here since 2011. Professor Julio is a very knowledgeable and engaging instructor. He doesn't play favorites in class and genuinely cares (and TRAINS) with all of his students. I could go on and on, but it's easier to come in and see it for yourself.

Have been coming here since 2015 and have nothing but good things to say about it. Julio is a great instructor who actually gets on the mats with ALL of his students. The atmosphere is great and everyone is there to learn. I also signed up my son and he is thoroughly enjoying the kids class. Highly recommend !!

I along with my son have been a student at JJBJJ for over a year. I must admit Im more than impressed. The instruction and experience is high level and consistent, the kids program is hands down the best in town, but what I love the most is the welcoming, humble and family environment throughout. I recommend this school to anyone that is serious about learning the art jiu Jitsu!!!!!

My husband and son have been going to JJBJJ for over a year and a half, and we have been completely pleased with our experience. The coaches are all very knowledgeable, helpful and patient. The camaraderie amongst the students is unlike any other gym. My six year old has learned the importance of self-discipline, respect and self-defense, all while having fun. JJBJJ is a family oriented gym, with a positive learning environment and is hands down the best BJJ gym in SCV!

Julio Juarez BJJ has been more then exceptional. It has the ability to make a day one member feel like they’re at home. The instructors are amazing! They give simple, easy and applicable drills. I’ve been attending for just about a year and compared to any other Ju-Jitsu gym in this valley they are the best bar none. Not to mention they produce some of the best grapplers in the valley (my opinion).

Excellent culture. From Julio to the advanced belts to the lower belts, there is a feeling of comradery there. Students help each other to grow and improve technique. Best work out you'll evere have.

Subject: Concerning Integrity Issues at Your Academy To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to express my deep concern and disappointment regarding the lack of integrity I’ve observed at your academy. My son recently competed against one of your "white belts" — a competitor who has held that rank for years despite winning gold at a major event in May and several other major competitions over the past year. This individual’s experience and skill level were far beyond what is appropriate for the white belt division. During the match, this student threw my son so aggressively that he injured his back. It’s unacceptable that a student with such a clear mastery of their belt level is still being held at white belt status. It’s obvious that this is a deliberate attempt to sandbag students in order to secure wins and medals rather than promote them when they've earned it. I raised this issue with my son's coach, who acknowledged that this is a clear case of sandbagging. My son is now aware of this practice, and we are training hard to ensure that we are prepared to handle the kind of tactics used by academies that prioritize gold medals over proper belt promotions. I strongly recommend that anyone looking for an academy with integrity seek out a place that values fair competition and rewards genuine progress. Your academy’s decision to hold back students who have clearly mastered their belt level reflects poorly on your standards and your commitment to the martial arts community. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. I hope you will reconsider your approach to belt promotion and competitive integrity.

My son went against one of thier "white belts", that been a white belt for years even winning the gold in past event in May and still a white belt, and he threw my son so hard he hurt his back. Seriously this Academy has no integrity keeping kids at lower belts to win gold. Highly recommend going to a Academy with integrity that promotes when clearly obvious that belt level has been mastered.
