Right off the bat, I'm going to have to give JJ Machado Fresno Jiu-Jitsu five stars. Ever since I first tried BJJ, I've been looking for a training environment that could replicate my first experiences in BJJ, and after many years of searching, I've finally found it here. The culture here is professional, welcoming and family friendly. Additionally, for me, I feel they are really trying to foster an environment where the students at all levels can learn and grow. It's their personal touch here, that you just can't find at any training BJJ facility. I highly recommend Jean Jacques Machado BJJ of Fresno to all who want to learn, or continue to train, but who want something a little more from their experience and training. Thank you, Professor Mike.

Highly recommend this gym! Started attending this gym along with my daughter and have had a great experience. Professor Mike and team are very knowledgeable and engaged in helping everyone out. If you want to learn jiu-jitsu I recommend you stop by and check the gym out.

We love this place! I looked at so many places for a good jujitsu place for my toddler and something we can as adults possibly attend to when time permits, and I instantly loved it here. I really like how flexible their schedule is. You can attend any day of the week at the same time, if you’re busy or can’t attend on a specific day you can go a different day. In addition, the aura, the energy, the cleanliness, the professionalism of the coaches, the vibe— everything was what I was looking for. They spend time with your child and really teach them which I really appreciate. If you’re looking to learn jujitsu look no further.

FULL YEAR REVIEW!! Everything has been amazing. This is a very welcoming place! I have been here for a year and since day one to now I have not had a bad experience! Professor Mike is a true professional! He really wants you to learn jujitsu. He breaks it down for you. I have attended the morning noon and night classes and it’s just a great environment for someone who really wants to learn. THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO!! BRING YOUR FAMILY!!! YOU WILL LEARN JUJITSU!!!! I really could not be more grateful to have found this place and thankful to be here.

Can’t say anything bad about this place, even on my worst day, I can find solice in training with my classmates at JJM Fresno. Everyone is super supportive and the environment is great! Come roll with us!

The place is legitimate, I go twice a week once on Friday once on Saturday and man there is some killers in there. But I always feel welcome and the coach's are super helpful and open to any questions you may have. They give you a Gi when you sign up as well, super good quality. Overall the gym is a gold standard for jujitsu in fresno now.

Great class. My kids have alot of fun. Great exercises to keep the kids active. My only suggestion would be to have more education on discipline so the kids understand what they are learning and why. Other than that, great teacher. Safe environment and fun.

I’m so happy I found Jean Jacques Machado Jiu-Jitsu Fresno. I’ve wanted to try BJJ for so long but I was afraid that it would be too complicated for a no-experience like me. But the whole team especially Professor Mike was very welcoming and patient to teach me the basics. He’s very knowledgeable and good at explaining the movements. The gym is very clean and well-maintained. I like that they have a good number of women I can train with.

Beautiful, amazing community! Mike is so generous with his time and truly willing to help all levels. As a woman it can be intimidating going to new place but all of his team are helpful and SAFE. All the people there are not only willing to teach you incredible BJJ but understand the deeper roots of the art and the human condition. Great group!! Highly recommend!

I would highly recommend JJ Machado Brazilian Jui-Jitsu. My son is hooked! Everyone from the Professor to the other members are so welcoming and ready to help every fighter progress and learn. Training is catered to each person’s skill level. The amount of encouragement from everyone in the building has helped my son gain confidence on and off the mat and strive to be better and keep learning new skills. The level of camaraderie is second to none. Thank you JJ Machado and Professor Mike for being so welcoming and encouraging!

My son is very new to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. The classes here help him connect with other children his age and also teach him discipline. My son is always excited to go to his classes and as a parent it makes me extremely happy knowing that he looks forward to going. They have a family friendly environment and it has been amazing to say the least.

I've had a great time. It's tough as a total beginner, course that's the nature of learning something new. The gym is young, right now we're all white belts. Fun learning with everyone. They keep the matts clean and loan gi's to whoever needs em. The format goes we learn a move, spend an hour drilling it and getting feedback. Then we roll to pressure test it. Everyone knows to go easy on beginners. I've never run into anyone unwilling to work and teach each other.

Coach Mike is incredibly patient and detail-oriented, always considering every aspect of technique to help his students succeed. There’s no ego with him he creates a welcoming environment where you feel supported and encouraged. He doesn’t pressure you but motivates you respectfully to stay consistent and set achievable goals that align with your personal journey. This is an amazing place to learn high-level jiu-jitsu from one of Jean Machado’s black belts, all within a controlled and safe environment. Coach Mike meets you where you are and never makes you feel judged about your starting point. I’m truly grateful to train here and to have such a knowledgeable and supportive coach.

I joined JJM to give me and my 13 year old something active to do together and it’s been amazing. Since day one, they’ve treated everyone like family. From professor to coach to member we’re all given the same respect and there’s no big egos on or off the mats. It truly is like one big family. The kids classes are amazing as well. My 9 year old daughter was given the opportunity to try a few classes and she immediately wanted to sign up. If you have kids you should definitely come check out a class. My wife recently joined as well, now our whole family trains here and we’re not the only family who does so! Come check it out, challenge yourself and your children to learn something new!

Great place for youth Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu! Professor Mike and his team provide a great introductory experience for 5-8 year olds. They are professional, friendly, and keep the kids engaged. Classes are challenging and always end with a game, so the kids leave smiling and feeling a sense of accomplishment. It’s amazing how the girls and boys gain confidence and build their interpersonal skills from week to week. The facility is new, clean, and has wifi and plenty of space for parents to sit and watch their kids learn how to do hard things. Highly recommend!

This school has a great culture. Everyone is friendly, kind, and also ready to push you to improve. Instruction is clear and concise. Prof Mike always answers all questions and is patient with beginners. My daughter also attends classes and it’s a great environment for a teen girl as well.

My wife and I were enjoying a Sunday morning together when she reminded me of a new BJJ studio in our area in the Jean Jacques Machado line. Curious we popped in to watch and met Professor Mike Monson and several of his students training. Mike and his students were friendly and encouraging of my interest in BJJ.He invited me to return for a free lesson and I after one class I signed up and am now on my way of a new life adventure due in large part to Professor Mike Monson’s personality and hospitality representing JJM BJJ well. He is an excellent instructor and a positive role model that I’m honored to call friend. I’m so excited to have found this great, clean JJM studio for my BJJ!! If you’re on the bench considering learning or training in BJJ in the Fresno area look no further than this Academy. Just try it and you'll be on your new adventure of JJM BJJ. This Jiu-Jitsu school is the premier place in Fresno for anyone regardless of age or gender that wants to learn. Our professor Mike is not only professional, knowledgeable and friendly he is very engaged in the kid and adult classes, often times he participates in the live training. It's my daughters 2nd week and we love it so far! My family even said she's trained under one of the best around!! Professor Mike and his family do such a great job with the kiddos. I highly recommend this place to New moms who's looking to put their child in a self-defense class. Jiu jitsu is the way to go!

My son has had an amazing experience going here. I noticed that he became more confident overtime as he began attending. Even his Kumon teacher mentioned that she noticed him change after he went to the Jiu-Jitsu class. Coach Mike is great and he works hard to help each student improve. I would definitely recommend anyone to enroll in these classes!
