My son has been training at Jeff’s for almost 3 years now, and he absolutely loves it there. We travel from Southampton so it’s almost an hour each way almost every day but it’s worth it…. Which must say something about the quality of coaches and training there. In fact my son won the official IBJJF European championship 2 years running, which shows Ippon must be one of, if not the best gym in the south for kids and teens!! And for adults, I don’t train myself but my son reckons the people he trains with are better than most other gyms he’s trained at (and there’s been a few!) Plus at the monthly open mat there must be at least 50+ visitors from other gyms that turn up, which means ippon is obviously doing something right. I would really recommend this gym for anyone who’s serious and truly wants to be decent at BJJ

I absolutely love this gym in every sense ,the people, the coaches, the atmosphere… everything is more than amazing! ❤️ You feel safe, welcomed and part of a real community. Every day you learn something new while having fun. The coaches are fantastic, the gym is always clean, and the toilets and showers are great too! There are plenty of classes, different coaches and options for different levels, so there’s always something for everyone. Honestly, I couldn’t ask for a better place to train. I’m always incredibly grateful to be part of this family. 🥰 100% recommend! 🥋❤️

Absolutely brilliant jiu-jitsu gym. The coaches are knowledgeable, welcoming and genuinely want to see everyone improve, whatever your level. There’s a great atmosphere on the mats — everyone pushes each other but there’s no ego, and you always come away feeling like you’ve learned something.

Couldn’t be more grateful to have found this gym. I love bjj, but I struggled to find a place that as a woman I actually belong. The team at Ippon are highly skilled, welcoming and just super friendly. Jeff keeps the team working hard, whilst having a lot of fun at the same time. The ethos and community here is contagious, everyone has so much respect for one another it’s just so nice to be a part of that. Whether you are new to bjj or thinking of starting, I couldn’t recommend this gym enough.

Awesome place. Jeff the instructor is very knowledgeable and skilled. Entrance was not easy to find. It's at the back of the building in a little alley but once in it was great, chandlging room, showers, toilets , gym area, fully matted.

Jeff and the team are great. Any level welcome. While in Bournemouth I have attended classes of BJJ. As a National Judo Medalist I was quick to learn so much I already hadn't seen and didn't know. This gym improves your fitness and performance and you are surrounded by talent.

Best martial arts gym I’ve ever been to. Great attitude towards beginners and great value for money. Loved doing classes with Jeff while I went to uni. Shame that now I’ve moved away from Bournemouth I can’t find anywhere near as good!

I've been training with Jeff and his team for a while now, and this has been one of the best experiences ever. Great atmosphere to train in as there are loads of experienced folks in the gym and I get a lot of help from peers as well.
