I had the chance to attend Invermere Jiu-Jitsu during a recent Rob Biernacki retreat in September 2025. The retreat itself was excellent—as always, it’s a pleasure to train with Professor Biernacki—but this review is specifically for Invermere Jiu-Jitsu, who graciously hosted the event. I had the privilege of meeting Head Instructor and Coach Justin. He is, quite simply, a gentleman and a scholar. From the moment I walked in the door, he created an atmosphere that was calm, positive, and welcoming—something that clearly permeates every aspect of the club. The academy is uniquely located above a veterinary clinic—possibly the only Jiu-Jitsu school with that distinction—but make no mistake, it’s an excellent facility. The mats are high-end, safe, and provide a fantastic environment for grappling and training. Although Coach Justin wasn’t running the retreat (this was Professor Biernacki’s event), my interactions with him made it obvious that he has a real passion for teaching, a high level of technical knowledge, and a genuine care for his students. The club culture reflects this: every member I trained with was positive, safe, and an absolute pleasure to roll with. Overall, my experience at Invermere Jiu-Jitsu was excellent. If you’re in town, I highly recommend stopping in to train with Justin and the crew. You will not be disappointed.

Justin is a wonderful instructor and a very great leader, his commitment to his team and having a Unreal culture is what makes this gym a special place, nestled in the beautiful little town of Invermere and a very clean and accommodating space! Stop in or train full-time!

Hit up a few classes while on holidays, I was super happy to have found this gem of a gym. Up to date on some of the best teaching methods, very friendly, solid Jiu-Jitsu. If you're on holidays, go out of your way to try a class or two! If you're local, hop on the mats! They'll take care of you and get you good fast.

Always amazed that a small town has such an awesome place for Jiu Jitsu. Great mix of beginners and advanced, both male and female. They are super welcoming and fun. If you live in town go try a class. If your just visiting, stop by they love dropins. Great way to get a workout in during your vacation.
