Insurgent Jiu Jitsu places a high degree of focus on the technical mechanics of positions, escapes, and submissions for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
My son wanted to try Jiu Jitsu and I wanted him to have a coach in his life who could push him as a person and as an athlete (for longer than the standard 10-week soccer season). We are lucky our friends told us about Insurgent because this is everything we hoped for: Coach Morgan, Coach Matt, and all the other coaches are experts at bringing out the best in each kid. 9 months later, this is my son's favorite activity and he would go every day if we could make it. Great curriculum for both the seasoned athlete or the brand new athlete. Room is always filled with nice, respectful, and super friendly faces that give competitive matches. Morgan is a great coach and friend to the adults and to the kids. My 4 girls all love him and love training with him and the other coaches. Highly recommend!

The Jiu Jitsu program is top notch. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to improve their strength and stamina, as well as challenge their mind. The community and friendships are outstanding as well. I can’t speak highly enough about Coach Morgan and the program.

A fantastic place to learn jiu jitsu. I have always felt comfortable training here and enjoy the camaraderie. The women’s class in particular is educational and confidence boosting. The kids programme has been excellent for our child. It’s a unique familial experience as our whole family trains here.

Hands down the best jiu jitsu in Flagstaff and Northern Arizona. My son has been doing jiu jitsu for 5 years, starting in NYC, then Paris and now in Flagstaff. The instruction he gets at Insurgent is the most technical, detailed oriented and structured out of all the places he’s been. This place is that good. The coaches are fantastic and really go out of their way to help the kids - you can tell that they love what they do and care about their students. It is a very welcoming place and I’d recommend it without hesitation to beginners and experienced alike.
