The best in town. The Max(s) and Lucas are great people and knowledgeable instructors. Definitely learned a lot from them. Awesome work out as well. I am happy to have received my purple belt from this fine institution.

My little one loves this place , they are super accommodating to make sure my child feels welcome and part of the class. No high pressure sales pitch. Not expensive.

I’ve been a student here for 3 years and can’t imagine training anywhere else! It is such a welcoming environment and I learn so much from their program specifically designed for women. Coach Karen is the best!!!

I have been coming to Gracie Barra Flagstaff for almost a year. In that year I have lost over 30lbs, and have gained confidence in myself that I didn't know I could have. The family that runs the gym are amazing people, and the gym culture is very inviting to new comers. My husband and three daughters have been attending Jiu-Jitsu classes here for about three months. Coach Max jr, Coach Luke and Coach Karen are patient and kind with and to all the students. Our girls definitely enjoy Every time they have class. They have grown in their knowledge of self-defense using Jiu-Jitsu techniques and they have even grown in their maturity. We as the parents also enjoy watching and seeing their smiling faces as they learn the drills and techniques and also when they roll with their teammates. Putting them in Jiu-Jitsu here was one of the best choices we have made.

I've been attending classes for three months, and I've gotten a lot better, thanks to the Professor (Max Sr.), Max Jr., Luke, and all the different people who attend the jiujitsu club. I've formed friendships, and love attending classes. Also, three of my kids attend classes there as well, and they've grown in their jiujitsu knowledge, and have become better kids.

Gracie Barra Flagstaff has been nothing short of amazing! All of the staff is friendly and welcomes people with open arms. Not many martial arts schools have that welcoming feeling. The fact that GB Flagstaff welcomes everyone and wants to teach them jiu jitsu is very hard to come by in any martial arts. This gym has become a safe place for myself and many others. GB Flagstaff is my home away from home and some of my closest family. I cannot recommend them enough. 1,000,000/10

My son has been going here coming up on two years. Best decision I've ever made! His confidence, determination, and persistence have grown significantly since attending GB of Flagstaff. Our home gym is in phoenix, but the professors at Gracie Barra Flagstaff let me son train with the club while we are on summer vacation for the month of august. The coaches were awesome and competitors were tough. Thank you. Five Stars.

The Goldbergs have been able to maintain a strong identity through the GB family. The environment they have created is unmatched and glad to have been able to train with them. Definitely recommend coming out and trying a class, it is a sick time!

I receive only the best training at this facility, max senior, and his kids teach simple to understand jiu jitsu that is long lasting, and that you could carry for the rest of your life with confidence and their nau program is also unmatched one-of-a-kind! This place is professionally run. Its mats are clean, and the people are very nice. This place receives all the stars. 1000 out of 10 if I could!!!

It’s inside the Green Tree mini mall. Entrances from the main parking lot and also in the back from the service road. I attended a free class (for first time participants) during the midday. Everyone was friendly and supportive. Decent mat area and good instruction. I highly recommend it!

GB Flagstaff Jiu Jitsu is awesome. They are welcoming and accommodating, creating a really great environment to learn and play. Since the beginning of summer I have lost over 30 lbs by regularly going to class and sparring/wrestling afterwards (it is good exercise but is fun so I can keep it up over time). The instructors at GB Flagstaff really know their stuff so you get to learn from true experts every class.

With their continuous onslaught of stories that help get their point across and their immense professionalism, they make this gym a place that no child or adult wants to leave once they get there. When you join, you not only join a gym but a community and a family, which makes it all the more fun. As a veteran, JiuJitsu has always interested me. I came to the GB family back in January 2021 and have not regretted it. I have trained in several other states while traveling and been accepted on the GB mat anywhere I go. I have no problem with the uniform dress code for GB as I was in the military. The quality of training and gi is on par with JiuJitsu standards anywhere you go. Sure, sometimes you can find a “good deal,” but most of the time “you get what you pay for!” Oss!

I am one month into Jiu jitsu and based off the atmosphere at GB Flagstaff it has caused me to fall in love with the sport. Both professor are extremely passionate and talented. The culture that has been created here is something special, it is the most positive group of athletes I have ever spent time around not to mention the level of coaching you receive in any of the classes is phenomenal. I truly can not express how happy I am that I signed up. All in all, if you’re looking to learn Jiu Jitsu from the best instructors in Flagstaff, all the while making friendships that will last, Gracie Barra Flagstaff is the place for you!

I’ve been coming here for just about a year now. Sure there are many options when it comes to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in Flagstaff and I have gone around and checked out other gyms none of them come close to the quality instruction you receive at Gracie Barra Flagstaff. If you are looking for a place to learn how to defend yourself this is where you should look.

I have been going here for 2 weeks and I’m blown away by how welcoming everyone here is. I was apart of the family from day 1. They go at your pace and do it very safely. No one there is trying to hurt you. The higher belts are super helpful and don’t pick on you for being new.. I’m a slow learner and they have worked with me and Iv come way further then I thought I would in just 2 weeks. As stated above... I’m totally blown away by how great the owners are. They 100% are not in this for the money. They do this because they love it. They were able to work with me on money while I was waiting on my paychecks to come in from work and for me to get money together after moving here. I thought that was the coolest thing. I highly recommend coming and checking this out. You won’t find a better place for self defense.

This is a great place to start and continue learning jiu jitsu. They emphasize self defense and mastering basic jiu jitsu moves in the beginner classes and also train for sport jiu jitsu and tournaments in the advanced classes. It is a safe environment to learn in and new team members are made welcome.

I started training at Gracie Barra Flagstaff about 3 years ago. I had had some previous martial arts training before but was very much drawn to the grappling aspect of fighting. I spent a couple of weeks looking around for a school and when I dropped by GB Flagstaff for the first time I knew I had found my new gym. Both of the Max’s are extremely helpful and welcoming. They’re both incredibly down to earth and relatable which is hard to find in a martial arts school nowadays. Gracie Barra Flagstaff is not only a world class gym to learn Jiu Jitsu and have fun doing it, but a place to make friends for life.

The best place to learn Jiu Jitsu! Everyone is super friendly, the instructors are fantastic at teaching the moves, and they are so nice to beginners! A lot of laughs but also a lot of learning. 10/10 would recommend to anyone even the slightest bit interested!! :)
