Randomly walked in Hurricane about a year and a half ago and haven’t left since . I’ve learned so much and have gained so many friendships . Great for all levels . I’ve been to several gyms and if your in Cleveland this is the place to be .
Hurricane is an amazing school filled with amazing people. Whenever I know i’m looking for tough rounds, hard work, and a good pace - I come to Hurricane. Can’t thank Professor John Lawrence and co enough!
Dropped into a Saturday class while in town for the holidays and got a bunch of good rolls in. The gym was very clean and Professor Chris' explanation of uchimata was clear and provided some follow up options depending on the response to the uchimata. Overall it was a great experience and I'd love to attend more classes next time I'm in town.
Visited Cleveland for trip and my son did a drop in class. Great instructor, super clean, he had a really great class :)
Came in to train while in town for work. The room was super accommodating and full of great training partners. Definitely recommend
I dropped in to Hurricane BJJ's noon class and I had a great time. The instruction was detailed and the training was hard, technical, and safe. I would absolutely come back again when I'm visiting Cleveland.
While visiting Cleveland for work, I stopped in to train. The facility has a very open atmosphere and is super clean. I was greeted by Travis, one of the black belt instructors, he informed me on where to change and keep my stuff. Everybody on the mats was welcoming and inviting, I didn’t get a bad vibe from anyone. The skill levels were top notch and the instruction for that night was a great foundational class. Can’t wait to come visit again in a couple weeks.
I dropped in for a class and had a awesome experience. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, the instruction was clear and organized, facilities are clean and well taken care of. I definitely recommend this gym for both people new to BJJ and people with more experience looking for a gym in the area!
Clean, friendly and invigorating training with professional coaches who are always there to help. Safety is stressed and you can tell they take it seriously because there is not one, "bad apple" in the school. The best place to train Jiu Jitsu in Cleveland for sure.
Went here to cross train with a buddy. Place is great for beginners and advanced. Felt very welcoming
Great welcoming place! Clean place, great instructions, great students.
Hurricane JJ has a fantastic group of instructors and competitors. My 8 year old has been attending for 3 years and he has had so much growth and improvement with the guidance of this group. Kids classes offered 4 nights a week makes it easier to fit into our busy schedule. Highly recommend for kids!
I dropped in from out of town for a no-gi class. Received some great techniques, and owner and students were very welcoming. Mats were clean, great place to train!
Dropped in for a class while in Cleveland visiting family. Top notch instruction and very welcoming coaches and students. Would highly recommend a visit to Hurricane Jiu Jitsu if you ever find yourself in Cleveland. Will definitely stop by and train again whenever the opportunity presents itself.
Dropped into Hurricane while I was visiting Cleveland and had awesome training. Professor John is very welcoming and knowledgeable. Class is a nice mix of instruction, situational training, and sparring. The gym is beautiful, super clean, and has plenty of mat space. The team is great too, very cool and fun to train with. I'm looking forward to coming back when I'm in Cleveland.
In town for a couple of days and instructor welcomed us. Great school. Instructors and students are very friendly and made us feel like home. Instructors are very proficient and we learned new techniques during our visit.
Fantastic place to train! Great atmosphere, very good teaching, very clean, and everyone is so kind and welcoming. I will definitely be going back to train more and I highly recommend others to do the same!
My friend Mark trains here. Dropped in for a class while I was in town. Awesome facilities and community. Looking forward to coming back soon!
Great training atmosphere, the training was high level and quality training. The technique was great, taught and broke down very well. Great Place
I'm visiting from out of town for a couple weeks, and am a relatively new white belt. Hurricane is very friendly and welcoming - the owner talked to me almost as soon as I walked in the door, other coaches are similarly welcoming, and many of the other students have gone out of their way to include me. There is a good number and variety of classes, including no-gi several times a week, "basics" classes, and well-attended womens' classes. There are two mats, which gives them a lot of flexibility for class times. The other women are happy to drill and roll with me, and I also drilled and rolled with several men, who were universally respectful. No spazzy white belts either. Higher belts are very good at matching their intensity to my (low) skill level. This is a great place to train!
Attended a 3 day training camp with JT Torres at Hurricane. Was an amazing experience! Friendly and welcoming environment, very clean, and an awesome vibe with the woodwork and mural on the wall. Top notch instructors. Would highly recommend and I'll definitely be back to train!
As a brown belt who does a lot of traveling, finding a good gym while visiting different cities is difficult. I’m happy to say that Hurricane Jiu Jitsu (under the leadership of coach John) is one of the good ones—a great one, in fact. John was courteous and welcoming; his instruction was clear and concise; and his technique was excellent. And just as a good coach invites students of the same caliber, everybody I trained with during class were equally kind, welcoming, and fun to roll with. I would highly recommend this gym to anyone interested in training Jiu Jitsu, and I will absolutely return if I’m ever in the area again.
Excellent place to train in Cleveland. Some of my vianna brothers colleagues in Chicago told me to train at hurricane while I’m here for job training and I absolutely loved it. Good instruction that white-black belts can comprehend and learn from, beautiful facility and the most hospitable athletes training there. I’ll always stop by when I’m in town 👍🏾
Came into town on holiday. The gym was gorgeous and very clean. The high ranks provided quality instruction and were very welcoming. Will hopefully be back soon.
Dropped in today - great facility, super welcoming, clear, useful instruction, and a wide range of skills and abilities. Will be back!!
John is great and I've had a good time getting started with Jiu Jitsu here.
Place is amazing and staff is patient and takes time to work with all the kids to ensure they understand.
I dropped in for a class since I was in town for a business trip, and I couldn’t have been more impressed with Hurricane. The facility is top-notch, extremely clean and lots of mat space. The instruction was excellent and everyone was very welcoming. I look forward to returning again whenever I am back in Cleveland! Highly recommend.
Trained here for two years. Instructors are top notch and it is a great atmosphere to train in regardless of skill level!
Dropped in while on a business trip so I could get some training in. The schedule is broken up by advanced and beginners. The instructor was very methodical in his teaching and broke down each position very well...and progressed through the position to the different trees based upon looks! Overall, had a great time! Beautiful facility and good rolls over all!
The best BJJ school I have ever been to. The training is great for anyone ranging from a hobbyist to a high level competitor.
If you're looking for a place to train jiu-jitsu in the Cleveland area, Hurricane is the place to be. Not only are the instructors kind and welcoming, but teach useful and effective techniques in a simple manner. I will for sure be coming back whenever I'm in the Cleveland area.
8/12/23- I visited Hurricane Jiujitsu today and would thoroughly recommend that you sign up at Hurricane Jiujitsu if you are interested in Jiujitsu or Martial arts. I have trained at more than a dozen gyms in more than 6 countries and found the gym to be world class and the hospitality second to none. I’m looking forward to visiting the next time I’m in Cleveland. Rory
Came visiting from California and was accepted so warmly! Glad to visit gyms that show so much love. Thanks for the training
With a voluntarily heavy workload as a clinician, offloading stress with new and engaging activities has become crucial. Having only attended perhaps a dozen classes in a two-month timeframe, Hurricane Jiu Jitsu offered ample opportunity to resign from the grind. As a newcomer whom underwent first exposure to the craft, it was evidently stress relieving and unyieldingly fun to partake in. I highly recommend paying a visit to Hurricane.
Absolutely loved training at HJJ. The culture of respect fostered at this gym is incredible. Not only does the owner John set the tone of how to teach, react, and respond to one another but these admirable traits are genuinely practiced by each member of the gym. I never meet someone I was afraid to ask a question to or practice a new move on. As well, I never meet an Owner so flexible and willing to dive into the depths of questions for each and all students. Great place and a great time.
I started jiu Jitsu here with very minimal experience. After joining, I went 4-5 times a week for a couple of months before I had to move, and I absolutely loved it here. The instructors were professional and very experienced, and all of the other students were very friendly. I highly recommend checking this place out if you’re in the Cleveland area looking for a Jiu Jitsu gym!
Hurricane is a great place to train . They have several different blackbelt instructors teaching classes so you always get a wide range of technique application during class. They also have 3-5 classes daily so it is easy to fit into any schedule. There is an intro class that doesn't involve any sparring which is a fantastic way to jump in and see if BJJ is for you. The Owner and Head Coach, John also keeps a very clean gym which I really appreciate. I love training and Hurricane and will be there for many years!
Incredible place to learn jiu-jitsu and submission grappling. Owner and instructors are all class act individuals. A very strong, quality membership. Classes 7 days a week. 3-4 times a day. Sign up and learn how to strangle and break people while finding your future best friends.
Passing through Cleveland for business and dropped in to Hurricane Bjj. Had a great time everyone was super welcoming, packed mat but lots of space, great facilities and lots of experience in the room. If you train and you’re going to be in Cleveland bring your gi and stop in here.
Drove 2 hours to visit. It was worth the drive. Clean facility. Very professional and knowledgeable instructors. The students were extremely welcoming. I learned some Kimura details I had never seen before.
I had a great experience while on a business trip. Travis broke down techniques to match my skill level appropriately. There were no egos in this class and appreciated working with the other students in class. Amazing team approach to learning. I hope I get an opportunity to go back.
I have trained in gyms all over the USA and Hurricane Jui Jitsu is one of the best I have ever stopped into. The member are all great to work with. John is a great guy that breaks down the techniques with great detail. No egos here. I plan on training here when ever I am in Cleveland.
Visited from out of town. Owner and teachers were super welcoming. It was great to get some rolls when visiting some friends in a good environment
I was visiting Cleveland and dropped in for a few classes. John and Darla are great instructors! This gym is family oriented, clean & ego free. If I lived in Cleveland this is where I’d train. I’ll definitely be coming back to visit!
Dropped in for the no gi noon class. Learned some great technique and got a great workout. Looking forward to coming back.
Great vibes. Very welcoming and high level crew. Watched the kids class and saw excellent instruction and care. Adults class was organized and gave great details. Clean, cool, definitely hope to train here again.
Just visited hurricane jujitsu and I was blown away with how welcoming everyone was. The head instructor John was incredibly knowledgeable and articulate in how he broke down the techniques. I learned a lot from this visit and I will 100% be back.
Awesome gym. I am visiting from out of town and they treated me like one of their own. Great rolls and awesome technique from Travis.
Top tier school, friendly coaches!
I was on a work trip in Cleveland and dropped in for an advanced class. The instructors were very welcoming and showed high level techniques that flowed together systematically. I’m a white belt and not a member of the school and they still took the time to walk me through details of the technique. If you’re new to jiu jitsu or are looking for a great gym in the Cleveland area I couldn’t recommend this place enough! Thank you!
I visited from out of town, great gym, great energy, welcoming crew. Definitely coming back.
Was in the area and wanted to still get some training in for me and my brother. Reached out to the gym and was allowed to come in. Class was filled with all different levels and sizes. Got some great technique, compliant rolling, and hard rolling in. Even with the hard rolling, John emphasized keeping yourself and training partners safe. I love the focus on that! Would love to come here again when in the area!
I was in town for work and wanted to drop in to Hurricane Jiu Jitsu while on my short trip. I signed up for the morning all levels class and it instantly met my expectations of a world class BJJ academy. Travis gave insightful and well explained instruction on techniques and the players were very welcoming. I highly recommend checking out Hurricane Jiu Jitsu if you’re in the Cleveland area.
Had a great time training here while traveling for work. Excellent coaches and chill vibes from the class. Thanks for having us!
Beautiful gym! The professor and his students were extremely friendly and of course, GREAT ROLLS!
Was in town for a business trip. Texted John a few days before arrival about doing a drop-in, and he responded quick and was very welcoming. Did a great no-gi class. He showed a few really cool techniques. Everyone was super welcome and chill. Open mat session after the class was awesome! Great group of guys and girls, clean mats, hard training!! I travel frequently and hit up different academies in many towns. Have been training full time for about 6 years also have 2 children (one trains with me). I can comfortably say this place is well run, clean, detail oriented, safe, family oriented/friendly (John’s daughter was playing soccer before class and then joined the adult class. How great is that!!!). John made several references to being considerate of your partner safety and tapping early. When him and I rolled, he definitely took it easy on me and allowed me to work my game. Hurricane BJJ is a really great place to train, and one of the top places I’ve been to. Will definitely come back next time in Cleveland!!!
Go on Youtube, Reddit, or Google and search "BJJ Gym Horror Stories." We don't deal with any of that here. Between the clean, non-problematic, casual yet competitive environment and the competition record I feel like I've found the Holy Grail of BJJ in Cleveland.
Myself, my husband, and my son all train at this amazing gym. We moved to the area 2 years ago and the first thing we did was search for a Jiujitsu gym. Hurricane was the first and last gym we visited. This gym offers everything we need and all 3 of us could not be happier. The coaches, the students, and the environment are the best of the best.
This gym has an environment & team that is very welcoming and non threatening to new students. Hurricane coaches provide great instruction & ample live training opportunity at every class.
Fantastic place to train, the best of 3 martials arts gyms I have been a part of over the years. I have been training here for about 6 months at time of review. All of the instructors bring a good level of nuance to their instruction yet have different styles of teaching that lead to an overall well-rounded game. The curriculum is solid too. Everything is planned and gives opportunity for beginners to get started while also giving options for more advanced work. Live training is awesome - tough but mostly always in good spirits and friendly. We push each other but never maliciously. Look no further than Hurricane if you are in the area.
Great place if you are looking in the Cleveland area, unfortunately I moved and have to train somewhere else now, but my experience was nothing but positive. I have only trained at a handful of BJJ gyms other than hurricane, but Hurricane is by far the best in many ways.
Great spot for walk ins, John had an amazing class, very organized, very friendly
I brought my two boys and even though they were too young for the class, ages 3 & 4, John still allowed them to participate and the instructors were very accommodating. Overall awesome experience.
One of the best places to train in the Cleveland area. Great instruction, great training partners, very clean facility, friendly staff and some awesome sparring! Thanks!
Dropped into a class with a friend ... awesome facility, atmosphere, people, and coaching .. really enjoyed my time learning and got a great workout in ... would definitely recommend it!
Went to two classes while visiting town last weekend - it was so well-organized and inviting! I would love to come back and train here again.
Dropped in from out of town and had a great experience. Very professionally run school with great instruction and training partners.
Great rolls, great instruction. I am traveling for work and dropped in. Everyone was super friendly and welcoming. If you’re looking for a BJJ spot in Cleveland, this place is awesome. I will be back!
40 year old Blue Belt training for 5 years. I’ve trained in multiple gyms all over the USA while traveling. Dropped in for a class while passing through town. It was apparent that John is an excellent instructor who has a passion for teaching. The gym was welcoming, clean, ego free and has a lot of mat space. Excellent Jiu Jitsu vibe from the rolls to the art on the walls. If I lived in CLE this is where I’d train.
i've been going here for a little over 2 years, changed my life. got my blue belt through here; i go with my dad and eventually got my sister and mom into it. its great. 5 stars for a 5 star place with 5 star people.
Starting my 3rd week at Hurricane and every person there has been super friendly, tolerant, and helpful to this total jiu jitsu novice. Even In such a short time it seems almost everyone already knows me by name and treats me like I've been a long time regular. I have been able to spar with other students and instructors ranging from white, blue, purple, brown and even black belts and all of them have taken the time to show and explain moves and share concepts with me. If you're looking to compete, to learn self defense or just to get some great exercise while having fun doing it this is the place to be.
This is a phenomenal place to train. I am completely new to BJJ and I have felt welcomed here since I started a little over a month ago. The instructors John, Chris, and Darla are great. Not only are they great BJJ players, but they’re hands on and care about student progress. There aren’t any egos here, and even higher ranks are willing to train with me and teach me. No one has made me feel ignorant for not knowing the basics. I think they all realize that you have to start somewhere. Lastly, there are class offerings for every skill level and schedule. I hope anyone considering trying BJJ tries this gym. You have nothing to lose with the free trial, and you’ll want to keep going.
Brand new to Jiu Jitsu and started here a few weeks ago. Great coaches, great teammates, and great atmosphere. Would 10/10 recommend whether new or experienced.
Amazing experience. Great team! Great instructor!! Look no further!!
My wife and I traveled to Cleveland for a weekend getaway and I dropped in to train at Hurricane for 3 classes fundamentals gi, no gi fundamentals and advanced no gi. I found the facility to be very clean, the instructors very welcoming with well thought out and conducted classes. I am always train when I travel and love the bjj camaraderie across the country, and Hurricane had it in aboundance! I certainly plan on returning next time I visit Cleveland! Additional fun fact they have an excellent woman's class for anyone that has a significant other that is interested!
Dropped in for one of their competition classes. Everyone was super welcoming and the training was great! Ill be back there again for sure.
I (a BJJ newbie) was in town for vacation and went with my husband (a BJJ regular). I really appreciated that there was a separate women's class and Darla was a fantastic teacher. She made the class applicable to beginners and to experienced people. I felt safe and comfortable taking part in the class.
This is the best place to learn and train Jiu Jitsu in all of Cleveland. The Instructors are fantastic at teaching and helping every student on an individual level.
Nothing but great energy, and amazing Jiu-Jitsu happening here ! I will always be coming here when visiting Cleveland
Clean professional and organized. They have a large training space. Adult classes are welcoming and friendly.
I was visiting from out of town and attended an excellent class taught by Chris. Great facilities and atmosphere; I really enjoyed the class. If I lived in Cleveland this would def be where I would choose to train.
This is an awesome place to train! I was in town for a couple days visiting my best friend. I stopped by Hurricane BJJ to learn some moves and sweat out all the alcohol from Great Lakes Brewery (which was amazing btw. Good job Cleveland). The facility is huge and has two separate changing rooms. They have like a bazillion black belt instructors as well. We warmed up and the Chris went over the deep half. Then we did King of the Hill for 8 mins, drilling what we learned and then had time for a couple rolls. The two people I rolled with treated me with respect and didn't headhunt. They gave me some tips on how to improve and made me feel welcome. Everyone there was super cool and nice. If I lived in Cleveland, THIS would be the place I would train. Definitely check this place out. 10/10 would recommend.
It was clear they had high-level competition instructors, but they can also scale to whatever you're working on.
My son has been training here for a little over 2 1/2 years now and my husband for about 3 1/2 years. Hurricane Jiu Jitsu has been absolutely amazing for our family. My son started out as a very hesitant 7 year old on the mat and has now grown to become a very confident and eager participant in every class. He has gained physical skills and abilities, as well as great relationships with both his classmates and his instructors. He genuinely loves/respects every single one of the instructors at Hurricane. I have sat and watched countless kids classes over the past several years and am repeatedly floored by how great these coaches are with these kids. They encourage every kid to do their best, to be respectful of others, and to recognize their own potential. They aren't just teaching submissions and escapes to these kids, they are teaching them character. They are teaching them integrity and respect. They are teaching them how to believe in themselves. They have helped build a confidence in my son that I will be forever grateful for/impressed by. We look forward to years and years of Jiu Jitsu at Hurricane!
I am completely floored after reading the comment posted by Nikki that’s a few below mine. Darla has been teaching both of my children for nearly 2 years now and I can say with complete certainty that she is one of the most kind and attentive instructors with the children. She also is my coach at her gym and she is no where near what this woman has described. I understand some people don’t like others for multiple reasons but to make up something like that to slander a persons reputation is disgusting and almost funny considering how far from the truth it is. Anyone who knows her knows how false this is and also knows that John wouldn’t allow someone like that teaching the children especially since his own children are in attendance.
I was new to bjj but had some experience with wrestling. I enjoyed everything about this gym! The instructors were always nice and willing to go over details whenever I had questions, the owner/head instructor John is very easy-going and is a great teacher, plenty of sparring partners who are there to learn and get better, good schedule for early birds and late trainers, and just a great atmosphere. Would recommend to anyone in the area looking for a bjj gym, new to the sport or well trained.
I've been going to Hurricane for about 7 months, and came in with no prior grappling experience. I have nothing but great things to say about John and all of the other instructors. They're very knowledgeable but also patient with beginners. It's a great mix of students, from competitors to beginners and everything in between, and the atmosphere and camaraderie is awesome!
This is an absolutely phenomenal group of people. I am a complete beginner who had to take off about a year for medical reasons. I happen to be staying in town for two weeks and was bored to tears when i figured out what was masing from my life—Jiu Jitsu! I found Hurrican Jiu Jitsu online and I was welcomed like one of their own. Even with my complete lack of skills I was allowed to stay and participate for every class I was able to attend. The atmosphere is extremely welcoming and class is FUN. I learned a ton in just a few days. I highly reccend Hurricane Jiu Jitsu for people of all abilities. Every class was full, amd there were many people of each belt level. The higher belts taught me while sparring (almost like a private lesson). It was great to get to witness us white belts learning new techniques, and observe the higher belts showing us what it is supposed to look like at full speed. Now I have to go home and try to find a place with a similar atmosphere now that i know what i have been missing.
Was looking for a gym to train at while I'm in town for a couple of months. I tried out a nogi class last night and decided to join on the spot. The gym space is gorgeous, modern and clean. Lots of mat space and a friendly, respectful, super welcoming environment. Instruction is clear and easy to follow, and there's roll time at the end of each class.
Stopped by for a drop in Gi class while working in Cleveland. Great experience, the instructor and students were very welcoming and the technique was very detailed. I’ll be back whenever I’m in town, Hurricane is a great option for high level jiu jitsu close to downtown Cleveland. Oss!
I was in town visiting family & stopped in for a morning BJJ class! Professor John was great - very welcoming & great instruction. The facility is lovely and very clean. I definitely recommend them if you’re looking for a place to train!
Visited Huricane Jiu Jitsu after the New Year. Overall great experience. The Dojo was really easy to find. The professor keeps all social media uptaded making it really easy to go train if youre in the city, visiting, like myself. Everyone is really friendly and down to train hard . 💪 The dojo is really clean and has a great mat space.
I recently moved from NYC to Cleveland. I started training jiu jitsu in 2005 and I consider it to be one of the more important things in my life. One of the hardest parts of moving from NYC was leaving my old jiu jitsu school, all my coaches and friends. I'm very happy to have found a new "home" at Hurricane. John is an exceptional coach, who is truly invested in the success of all his students. He's created a world class facility and training environment.
Great place to come and train! Head instructor John Lawrence focuses on technical jiu jitsu useful for beginners or advanced grapplers alike. While the school is competition-oriented, it's also friendly toward newcomers and folks just trying to get into shape. My go-to spot to train when I'm visiting Cleveland.
I Always come here when I'm in Cleveland to train. The gym culture is amazing, everyone is friendly and welcomes you with open arms. Great classes and people, can’t recommend enough!
From out of town on tour with my band, dropped into the 12 O'clock class and had a blast! Everybody there was super nice and helpful. Mat space was huge and clean. Looking forward to coming back soon as I can!
It's ok. It is a clean place to train. Always very crowed leading to less one on one with instructors. Darla is amazing and and probably the best female black belt in the world, no joke. John on the other hand is obnoxious and cocky. More competition based rather than real world which is fine if that's what you're looking for. I never see John roll with any of the students.
Out of the close to perfect 5 star review I AM ONLY THE 3RD PARENT TO REVIEW. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILD HERE. This place is completely ignorant & incompetent with adolescents. A bully instructor named Darla physically forced my 7 year old to fight (spar) her against his will....in his SECOND WEEK learning Jiu Jitsu. He told her NO multiple times, he said (NO I do not want to fight an adult) she then physically pulled him onto the mat...then put my 7 year old in a choke hold! She threw him around like a rag doll...he made no attempt to fight back......because he had no idea how to...it was his second week! And he knows he can't compete with an adult. He was paralyzed with fear. It was like a cat playing with a mouse. It was very cruel. He tapped out multiple times (when you tap your opponent is supposed to take their hands/body completely off of you, completely release you) and she would not release her hold on his clothing! He even verbally stated on the verge of tears "I tapped why arnt you letting me go!?"...and she STILL didn't let go of him. He was yelled at by the owner John when he tried to run over to me for help "you cant leave the mat!". And he ended up in a ball crying on the wall. This all happened under the owner Johns supervision. He was leading the class and he allowed his assistant to do this...even joining in scolding my child for trying to come to me for help. I verbally brought the whole issue up with John later and he completely defended his employees actions saying she didn't follow the most important rule in Jiu Jitsu of completely releasing your opponent when they tap ..... "in the name of safety because it was dangerous for my child to leave the mat to come to his mother when an adult is basically attacking him". Seriously thats what he said it was not safe for him to leave the mat to come to me....thats why she didn't fully honer his taps!! I thought about pressing legal charges....I should have. Through emails I demanded a complete refund which he did give me but he also called me a liar and completely denied what happend. But nothing can fix the emotional damage that horrible women inflicted on my child...and that cowardly man allowed to happen. ON THE HURRICANE WEBSITE IT STATES (The "tap" is a sacred thing. Your training partner will always let you go immediately.) Also..... (You can wait a day, a week, a month, or a year before you start sparring if you choose.) Apparently this respect & safety is not given to children.......
I missed a couple scheduled appointments (3) to start training. I told the guy via email that the reason was because I was stressed over my mom dying & I was stressed about living quarters. I was still told not to come & train because it was for "serious" people & was recommended by him to go to a more "casual" bjj place in beachwood. No extra chance to come in was accepted. He was very adamant on me not to come to his place, period! So I found a boxing gym to go to. They were very accepting and understanding. It was/is a great famil type atmosphere. I personally found bjj people are not what I've been hearing about, at all. I will note that I've made my decision off of one situation, but once was enough for me. I just needed something positive to focus on during that time & I've found that with Boxing. Much Love ✌
