I've trained at other gyms, and this BJJ academy stands out. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the positive energy and strong sense of community. The instructors are incredibly knowledgeable, passionate, and patient—able to teach everyone from complete beginners to advanced competitors. Classes are well-structured, blending technical instruction, live drilling, and situational sparring. Whether you're training for self-defense, fitness, or competition, the coaching staff tailors their approach to help you meet your personal goals. What really sets this gym apart is the culture: everyone is respectful, welcoming, and eager to help each other improve. Clean facilities and a safe ego-free environment make it easy to stay consistent and motivated. If you're considering starting BJJ or looking for a new place to train, I can’t recommend this gym highly enough.

Great school and great instruction. Professor Samuel is extremely knowledgeable and welcoming. I was traveling and dropped in for a class, the class was really good and the students were awesome. If I lived in the area, I would train there regularly. Definitely check out the school if you’re in the Fairfax area. Highly recommend.

My 7 and 8 year old son and daughter and I have been attending this jiujitsu gym for over a year. I couldn't be any happier or satisfied. Professor Charles possesses the rare skills required to work with children and adults. He gives the best advice to the kids - and says it in a way they understand and can absorb it. He is a wonderful role model. He is calm, down to earth, and caring, and his attention to detail has really improved my technique. He gives "what if" scenarios so you know what reactions to expect and how to respond. His wife is also a skilled brown belt!
