Applied attention to students with an emphasis on detail from a multitude of instructors. They also have a school with students who are eager to help each other. Warm environment. Everyone from children to professional fighters and world class coaches call this academy home.

  I’ve been training at this school for a few months and my biggest regret is not signing up sooner. Jiu-jitsu has become a large part of my life and I have professor David and Angelica to thanks for it. I also want to thank all my grappling partners who have helped me along the way in my jiu-jitsu journey. For anyone out there on the fence about starting jiu-jitsu, no matter your age, Gracie NJ Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu & MMA Academy has it all. Various types of classes, clean mats, friendly people and instructors that care about their students safety and development.

  Top notch instructors. Come learn original Gracie Jiu Jitsu as taught by Helio and Royler Gracie. Dave and Angelica are fantastic. Relaxed environment. Can accommodate professional MMA fighters to brand new enthusiasts. One of the best places to train in New Jersey. Mats are always packed. School just expanded, more mat space, bigger locker room, and new mats!

  I have been training at the Gracie New Jersey Academy for almost five years. I can honestly say that joining the academy was one of if not the best decision I’ve ever made. You will not find more knowledgeable instructors than Professors David Adiv and Angelica Oliveira. They are some of the best people I have ever met and have a true passion for sharing their world class knowledge of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. They provide a great atmosphere at the academy and welcome everyone who walks through their doors. Whether you are new to Gracie Jiu-Jitsu and just want to learn the martial art as a hobby, would like to learn self defense, or have goals of someday competing in both Jiu-Jitsu or mixed martial arts I can not recommend the Gracie New Jersey Academy enough.

  I called about four or five months ago and spoke with Angelica who got me up to speed and inviting me into the academy for a free class to see how I liked it. Of course I didn't know what to expect and was nervous about fitting in, but Professors David Adiv and Angelica went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable getting into a grappling situation before being thrown to the wolves like some places do. I was watching the open rolls at the end of my first night, Professor Adiv explained the philosophy of gracie ju jitsu and asked me about my life and why I wanted to learn gjj. He genuinely cares about his students on and off the mat and treats everyone from the no stripe white belts to the black belts with that same respect as an equal. The environment is friendly but intense and as a new guy I've never felt like I was picked on or smashed. All the guys are happy to teach as long as you're ready to put in the work. It's truly a family atmosphere that fosters the positive mindset it takes, at least for me, to want to get tapped 20x a night and keep coming back. professors David and Angelica are as great at teaching as they are in the art itself, both being world Champs (check it out on their bio). I didn't know this until a friend that's trained for 10 years told me, but Professor Adiv is called "the brain" by none other than Rickson gracie. This isn't a tiger Schulman place. And there's a bunch of pro MMA and UFC fighters that you'll train with some days. Those guys are awesome to everyone as well. All in all, is helped me in my life more than just physically and I bring everyone I can to a class to see if it's for them too. Excellent, clean, professional and friendly.

  This is an excellent place to learn the gentle art - amazing instruction and an outstanding atmosphere. David, Angelica and the rest of the Gracie NJ instructors provide superior level of instruction and high level training. This is by far the classiest martial arts school I have had the privilege of training at.
