We have had a wonderful experience with Gracie Jiu-Jitsu at San Jose. My 9 year old child enjoys and looks forward for his lessons. It has taught him disciplines in some areas of his life. He enjoys the warm ups just as much as his lessons. Overall, I would recommend Gracie Jiu-Jitsu to everyone who needs their kids to learn self defense, working with self discipline and gain confidence. The coaches are great and oversea all students and focus on one on one attention if needed.

I recently had the pleasure of training at the Gracie Jiu-Jitsu place, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. From the moment I stepped in, I was struck by how incredibly welcoming and friendly everyone was, despite its somewhat "stranded" location. It truly feels like a community. The people here are not only genuinely helpful but also possess a fantastic sense of humor, making every session enjoyable and lighthearted. It's an environment where you feel comfortable asking questions and pushing your limits. Cleanliness is clearly a top priority, which is always a huge plus in any training facility. The mats, changing rooms, and common areas were all impeccably maintained. What truly sets this place apart, however, is the coach. The instructor is phenomenal, organizing classes in such an engaging way that time simply flies by. Before you know it, the session is over, and you're already looking forward to the next one. His teaching style is effective, clear, and makes learning complex techniques feel accessible and fun. If you're looking for a martial arts academy that combines top-tier instruction with a warm, supportive, and fun atmosphere, look no further. This Gracie Jiu-Jitsu location is a must-try. Highly recommended!

I joined Gracie Jiu Jitsu San Jose because I wanted to become more active and learn a new skill. As a beginner with no martial arts background, I was initially nervous to try it out, but everyone has been welcoming, friendly, and supportive. At the start of every class, Coach Julius demonstrates the techniques and breaks them down into smaller pieces. Then you spend time practicing each technique with a partner(s). It can be a little intimidating at first if you’re not accustomed to being in contact with people (I blame you COVID), but the hands-on approach is effective, and you get used to it pretty quickly. I’ve only been here for a short time, but I appreciate the safe and positive space where I can learn, practice, and grow.

About three months ago, I came across Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. At first, I wasn’t sure how my son, who has speech and receptive delays, would do in a class like this. We decided to give it a try, and he has loved it ever since! Meeting Coach Julius has been such a wonderful experience—he’s patient, understanding, and still pushes my son just like everyone else. I’m so grateful for the effort my son has put in and for the support from Coach Julius and his amazing team.
