My review is for Muay Thai/Cardio Kick Boxing courses and the facility. I did not take BJJ or wrestling. The facility is clean and the staff are very helpful. I spent 2 years hear, first doing Muay Thai then I switched over to Cardio Kick Boxing. Muay Thai can be good if you find a class you enjoy. Some classes are very full and others are very empty. It depends on the time and who's teaching. The down side is that the evening classes have different instructors on different days, and this can get frustrating since they teach different styles. One instructor might do a more traditional muay thai style, and another would do a style that's like a hybrid with boxing. So if you want to show up daily you either show up to the earlier classes, which have a consistent instructor or you have to accept that you're going to have instructors that teach conflicting styles and just be flexible. As for the cardio kick boxing, I ended up preferring this because the instructor for that time of day is consistent, so you know what to expect from them, and I felt like I was getting a great workout from showing up to these classes. There are several different instructors, each dedicated to a different time slot, and they each have a different style of class, but all of them were keeping me on my toes and pushing me to my limits. The classes were definitely worth the money and time to improve my fitness.

There aren’t enough stars to recommend this place. Houston is fortunate to have Professor Ulpiano and his extremely talented Professors and Coaches who are internationally renowned at Brazilian Jiujitsu. There is no better place for kids or adults to begin their journey and learn self-defense, instill confidence and discipline and make friends. My kids and I love this place and consider it a second family.

I've been at GB Westchase the past three months. The professors and coaches here are excellent at what they do. I started with the Women's only class which made me feel very comfortable getting familiar with the general class flow. When my schedule changed I was hesitant to join the coed BJJ classes, however Prof. Ulpiano, Pedro, and even visiting professors always make a point to ensure I have a safe training partner for my size and skill level. They of course do this for men who are new, but I especially appreciate their attention to ensuring their students are set up to avoid unnecessary injuries. When there isn't an appropriate partner, they will train with me instead. Per other reviews the facilities are clean, well maintained, and they have taken care to request for everyone to comply with required COVID precautions. I look forward to my children starting when they're old enough. I can't recommend enough for any female considering training BJJ. If you aren't, you should. GB Westchase will make you feel at home and take care of you!

Five stars is not enough to rate this place. I can’t think of a better gym to start your martial arts journey. Ulpiano is a great instructor, mentor, and role model who is dedicated to his students and school. I have attended this location for over ten years and that should say a lot about Gracie Barra Westchase.

I had a chance to train here while I was in town for work from Chicago. This place is by far one of the best facilities I have ever been to. The training is on another level. Not too many places you can line up and see 5 black belts lined up. Definitely one of my favorite GBs I have been to.
