From the outset of my training, every higher belt was a coach and took the time to teach. No egos, just good people. Professor Justin’s amiable personality combined with his vast technical skill and knowledge is unparalleled.   My son has been in the Little Champions program for almost 6 months. I can't say enough about Professor Amit and Coach Dan. They are incredibly patient with the kids. The kids are engaged with the lesson. They have a lot fun but it's not just a playground, they are learning real skills. Not just jiu-jitsu and self-defense, but also patience, responsibility and teamwork. I'm proud of the progress my son has made as a member of the Gracie Barra Sorrento Valley team and hope he continues to grow and learn here.

  Great gym that is conveniently located off the freeway and parking is never an issue. Professor Marcelo is a world-class professor who breaks down every technique for ALL levels to understand. The gym culture is welcoming and supportive in ensuring that each student gets the most out of their training. Highly recommend this gym to anyone ever considering learning or continuing their training in Brazilian Jiu Jutsu.

  I've trained in different BJJ schools when I was traveling around the world, and I can really appreciate Proffesor Marcelo's training style. It's a very beginner-friendly environment, focus on solid foundation skills vs flashy moves you would never do in sparring, great workout routine, lots of training options (lunch time, evening, weekends even) and a place full of friendly faces. Highly recommended.
