This is a great place for someone who is curious about BJJ and wants to learn. I came here with zero experience at 40 years old looking for something physical to keep in shape and keep my mind working. I’m always learning and have positive encouragement from my peers and the professors. A real family vibe it is always a good feeling walking in the gym over four years later still loving it more and more everyday. There is also many schools around the US where you are always welcomed and encouraged to train A++++
Posted 6 years agoGracie Barra Seattle is a spectacular place to train--beginners and experts alike. The atmosphere is unbeatable and everyone seeks to further eachothers progression forward. Clean, large sized facility with a shower, two separate mats and an area dedicated to weight training. If you are reading reviews of other gyms, go to this gym, it will exceed your expectations and elevate you to the next level needed--no matter your level. Thank you gracie barra team & management!!!
Posted 3 years agoGracie Barra Seattle is an amazing place to train. Whether you want to train for serious competition or just get in shape and have fun at a safe place to train they offer it all. I was a little intimidated about joining but they made me feel welcome right away. If you have kids, I highly recommend you try it out. It's a very safe sport for kids and while I don't have any kids of my own, every time I come in a bit early I'm impressed with how disciplined they are for being so small. They always leave the mats with huge smiles all over their faces as well which is what it's all about. The last thing I'll say, is Gracie Barra allows you to train at ANY Gracie Barra gym with membership so you can visit any of the 5+ Gracie Barra gyms around the Northwest and travelling I've also been able to stop in and check out gyms around the United States. Every place I've been so far has been so happy to have a guest from another gym. Gracie Barra truly has an amazing community of people and I can't believe I have lived in Seattle all my life and never joined them earlier! All you have to do is walk in the gym or call them like I did and they take care of everything for you from how to dress, how membership works, how to know what classes are best for you, etc. I hope to see some of you soon! :-)
Posted 5 years agoFantastic bjj school in Seattle! Friendly, welcoming environment with great instructors. GB Seattle has classes all through the day (6AM, noon, 6PM) so you can always fit some time on the mat around your schedule.
Posted 6 years agoThis is really one of my favorite places in Seattle. The teaching quality and professionalism here is top notch and I learn something new and useful everyday. I have a very demanding schedule teaching Capoeira around Seattle and I'm not able to go to bjj class consistently but I've never been scorned or pressured. Only felt welcomed and encouragement. Prof. Rodrigo always makes us feel at home. Hoping one day I'll be a great leader like Prof. Rodrigo for my students at the Seattle Capoeira Center.
