My son Braxton is very happy go lucky and a “teddy bear.” We knew the benefits of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu would help get him ready for the challenges preteens and teenagers face as they transition into adulthood. From Day 1, the staff at Gracie Barra Queen Creek have been beyond wonderful. The coaches have encouraged Braxton on the art of jiu-jitsu and how the sport can be fun and help him focus on problem solving. Braxton has developed the self confidence where he can face any challenge put in front of him. His physical, mental and emotional health have all benefited from attending Gracie Barra. The coaches provide a safe environment where Braxton and all of the students can learn and grow. We look forward to watching Braxton continue his journey with Gracie Barra Queen Creek.

Initially my son joined a few months back and inspired our oldest daughter to join later. They look forward to the new lessons and seeing their friends. Thank you for taking us in! My youngest, 3 year old, says she wants to join next! The staff is super friendly! I’m so glad we joined!

I highly recommend this gym. My two daughters and I train here. As someone who transferred from another gym, I can't explain how the whole staff has been kind and welcoming. The level of jiu-jitsu is high, and the coaches are amazing! The growth I have seen in my kids jiu-jitsu has been incredible. As a father, it is fantastic to see the confidence it has built in my daughters and how they even hold me accountable for showing up. If you're on the fence, give it a try. You will have a blast!

This is an outstanding addition to the Gracie Barra family. The culture this group of amazing people have created is unique in every way. The instructors, coaches, students and families have built such a supportive and embracing environment that it is not just a school it is without a doubt a family. Several years ago my son asked me to start Jiu Jitsu with him. Without hesitation I said yes because I was honored and flattered that he would want me to begin this journey with him. It only took a few moments after saying yes for me to start thinking "what did I get myself into". I had some doubts building like, "I hadn't done any athletic training in so long" and "I'm older now, I know nothing about jiu jitsu". When it came time for our class my son and I entered the door of Gracie Barra and immediately we were welcomed by Paula and Professor Lucas. Soon after that other coaches and students introduced themselves and just like that we both felt at home! Everyone had been so eager to help and coach us on techniques and giving us praise and direction always. The students, coaches, Professors and families all truly have the same goals for everyone which is to help each other improve and support each other in order to lift everyone up together. I am now 50 years old and Jiu Jitsu is a major part of my life and will be always. I want to thank my Gracie Barra Family and I can not wait to see all of the new family members of the Queen Creek location experience this very special bond!

I couldn’t be more thrilled with the experience my sons have had at Gracie Barra! From day one, they’ve been welcomed into a supportive, disciplined, and positive environment that has helped them grow both on and off the mats. Incredible Instruction The instructors at Gracie Barra are amazing! They have a true passion for teaching and it’s evident in the way they engage with my sons. They take the time to break down the techniques in a way that’s easy for them to understand, ensuring they build a solid foundation. My sons love how patient and encouraging the instructors are, making each class enjoyable while still challenging them to improve. Positive Atmosphere and Community What stands out the most is the sense of community at Gracie Barra. The students, no matter their age or experience level, are respectful and encouraging. My sons have made great friendships and they genuinely look forward to class each week. The coaches create a welcoming environment where my kids feel comfortable learning, asking questions, and growing at their own pace. Focus on Respect and Discipline The values instilled in my sons through Gracie Barra go far beyond Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The emphasis on respect, discipline, and hard work has had a positive impact on their everyday lives. I’ve noticed improvements in their focus, confidence, and teamwork both at home and school. It’s more than just learning BJJ—it’s about building character. Safe and Well-Maintained Facility The facility is top-notch—clean, spacious, and well-equipped. It’s clear that Gracie Barra invests in providing a safe, high-quality training environment. As a parent, knowing that my kids are training in a well-maintained space gives me peace of mind. A Fun Way to Stay Active Not only has BJJ been a great way for my sons to stay active, but it has also taught them valuable self-defense skills. The classes are fun and engaging, and I’ve seen their fitness levels improve significantly since they started. They’ve become stronger, more agile, and more confident in their physical abilities. Conclusion I am so grateful for Gracie Barra and the positive influence it has had on my sons. The instruction, values, and community are exceptional, and I’ve seen my kids grow in ways I didn’t expect. I highly recommend Gracie Barra to any parent looking for a supportive, respectful, and rewarding environment for their child to learn Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu!
