We have three children that attend Gracie Barra North Princeton. We have been going for 3 years. I could not be happier to send my children here. They are learning a very practical mixed martial art as well as discipline and physical fitness. Very happy with the coaches and flexibility of classes. While no kid activity is cheap these days I would say that Gracie Barra offers you a chance to maximize the cost per activity as their is not limit to the classes you can attend in a week making it extremely cheap on a cost per class basis. I would recommend anyone who wants their child to learn self defense or martial arts to consider Gracie Barra BJJ.

This is a great gym with wonderful people! The coaches are very skilled, love what they do, and share their enthusiasm for martial arts with the class. The coaches are great at translating techniques to students. The environment (from both coaches and participants) is very supportive and focused—they emphasize discipline and consistency here. I personally enjoy the jiu jitsu classes and strength and conditioning the most, but Muay Thai is also a good option. They have a women’s self-defense class on Thursdays in the evening where you learn BJJ techniques that apply to defense, and in the adult classes, women and men of all ages participate. They also only pair women with women and men with men in the classes. I’m a student who only comes back during breaks, but even then it’s well worth it for me. The people here are super kind, generous, and personable, and I’d really recommend signing up for at least the free 1 week trial if you are considering it!

Checked out various MMA academies in my area and Gracie Barra stood out! After the first session, I was convinced that this is the right place to enroll my child. The session involves not only teaching BJJ moves but also some fun games and quick life coaching. I love the energy in this dojo! It is encouraging and inspiring. The coaches instill discipline and foster camaraderie among students, and make sure everyone feels included.

I had an excellent experience at this Jiu-Jitsu school. The environment is very welcoming, everyone is friendly, and the classes are well structured. From the very beginning, there’s a strong emphasis on learning the fundamentals before starting sparring, which I found great—especially because of the focus on safety and technical development. I highly recommend it!

The coaches and professors at GB North Princeton are truly amazing! They make everyone feel welcome, and have truly built an extended family with all the students that go there. The amount of time they put in getting to know everyone who goes there is incredible. You don't feel like you're training with strangers, but with friends who genuinely want to see you succeed and advance. They interact with children in a very respectful manner, firm when it needs to be, but never unkind or harsh. They are understanding, helpful, and caring towards everyone - children, teenagers, and adults. It's not the closest BJJ school to my house, but it's the only one I will go to. Everyone should train Jiu Jitsu, and this school is the place to be. I'm proud to be part of the GB North Princeton Family!

Thanks Coach Kris for making sign up seamless and so quick. Super friendly and engaging conversation. The space is an open layout and impeccably clean. I enrolled my daughter because MMA, particularly Jujitsu; is a required skill now a days, in my opinion. They offered me a great deal I couldn’t pass up and my daughter got her gear and starts this week. They offer 3 classes a week, after school and 1 on weekends. My sons have taken MMA and it’s been such a pivotal life change for them. My daughter expressed her fears and Coach Kris and Coach Voitek spoke with her and made her feel comfortable about joining and excited. Glad she is starting her MMA journey here !! Will update my post after a month of training.

My son and I have been training her for about 3 years now and our experience has been consistently amazing. The coaches their push us everyday when we are on the mat while at the same time providing a high level of support. They are structured, clean and it very welcoming for families.
This place is awesome. With someone to little or no experience i felt right at hone on my first day. After the class I signed up right away. Ask for Kris she is amazing!
Everyone here has been so friendly already I feel super comfortable and its only my first week. The sign up process was painless and class structure is really hands on and engaging.
Recently completed my first intro jiu jitsu class here and really enjoyed it! It was really fun trying something new in a different setting. My instructor was very knowledgeable and made sure I felt comfortable throughout the class. The front desk was very welcoming and took the time to answer all my questions haha! I’m looking forward to taking more classes here!

Yesterday, I took my kid to take a free trial class. The coaches were incredibly enthusiastic and professional. I could see my son enjoyed the entire experience and wanted to continue learning. So, I signed him up for the class right away. Highly recommend.

I have been deeply involved in martial arts for over 20 years, I therefore tend to be painfully meticulous and downright pendantic about what martial arts Dojos or gyms I choose to train at. Being involved in both traditional martial arts where respect and traditions are valued above all as well as their modern more self defense practical counterparts such as BJJ, Muay Thai and MMA I can honestly say that Gracie Barra an outstanding balance between all of these qualities, the staff is friendly and knowledable, respect amongst peers and founders of the art, discipline, meticulous technique building for wonderful jiujitsu, kindness and safe environments are staples of this wonderful place. It is alao sparkling clean and kid friendly. I cannot recommend it more.

I came here for a free women's self defense class and was immediately hooked! I loved the positive and helpful energy and the patience and practice that went in to each new move. The self defense class was great, highly recommend! After I signed up for more classes and just attended another and left feeling great. I got a great workout, was in a positive and supportive environment and learned some more moves for keeping myself safe. Highly recommend!

What an amazing jiu jitsu school! I can only speak for adults but I love it!!! From the amazingly supportive ambiance Coach Kris creates, the passion & precision Professor Wojtek exudes for excellence in the craft and the sweet control & temperance Coach Claire helps hone in on, they’re an incredible team. Not to mention the kick-boxing FUN sprinkled in for good measure. They turn self-defense into play and help temper your wilds in the process! 10/10 recommend. Just listen better than I did… apparently all the details Professor Wojtek & Coach Claire speak on are important 🫶😋🙏
The environment is welcoming, and the instructors are knowledgeable and patient. They took the time to break down techniques in a way that was easy to understand, even for beginners like myself. The class was well-structured and covered self defense and position specific drills. The other students were friendly and supportive, making it a great place to train.
As it being my first time with my son at a trial, from what I’ve seen and what my son said. I think it is a good place to start with character development with young kids. He was a little uncomfortable with having to grapple with a young lady, but I explained to him you’re young and that’s reasonable to feel that way. I hope the more interactions he has with his female counterparts and other young men help develop his maturity and confidence. Not only in confrontational situations but also give him the mental ability in day to day interactions as well. I’m looking forward to seeing his development and maybe one day we could train together.

This place is awesome. I’ve only been to a few places that really make you feel at home from the moment you walk in and interact with the people. The environment is so welcoming and the professor/ coach is so good at teaching and making you feel comfortable learning jiu jitsu. The other students are so open to sharing knowledge and helping you through the movements. I look forward to going to jiu jitsu and just being part of the community.

I’ve been wanting to start training Jiu Jitsu for a long time but always found the excuse why I couldn’t start. I was able to do a free class with my friend and by the end I was hooked. The coaches are very patient, knowledgeable and the overall atmosphere is very welcoming and I’m excited to get started.
Great school with a solid curriculum. Students are well taken care of which makes starting one's BJJ journey a lot more comfortable. Professors and Coaches instill a sense of community that reaches beyond just physical training. The coaching style is such that the training sessions feel challenging, but not overwhelming. After a friend recommended me to Gracie Barra I decided to check it out and was pleasantly surprised. Recently, my son and I took our first class at GB in North Princeton and we left the gym our first day buzzing with excitement. The program director, Coach Kris, was personable, knowledgeable and kind. Right away we connected on so many levels, she answered all my questions and made us feel so comfortable as newcomers. As a homeschooling family of six, we ended up enrolling everyone in the family membership and I am elated at how family friendly and accommodating this gym is. I was looking for an outlet for my teenage son to gain physical and mental awareness and confidence and I can tell already that we made a great decision coming to a Gracie Barra, not just for him but for our entire family. We were welcomed to the gym with open arms and I felt such a strong sense of community in the presence of the coaches and team. I am really looking forward to our families growth and feel so humbled after my first jujitsu experience. My partner was patient with me and it was so beautiful witnessing the vulnerability and camaraderie within the GB network. I deeply resonate with the values upheld at Gracie Barra and it is so refreshing to have a safe space and community to fall back on that supports and encourages collective growth. I feel so motivated and eager for the journey ahead. We may be just beginning stages but again, I can already sense that we are in great company and made a great decision in training at GB North Princeton.

My sons attended another local martial arts school where they were treated like recruits for the military. A month ago I moved the boys to Gracie Barra in North Princeton to try out the juniors classes. BLOWN AWAY by the positive and teachable mindset of ALL THE COACHES!!!! Last night my son asked professor of the academy if he could “try and live train”. My son was blown away that professor Wojtek took the time and also taught and explained the reasons for certain moves. The connection is amazing and the calm teachable spirit of professor and all his coaches validates why this academy is the go to one to learn. The connection between my sons and professor and all the coaches is genuine and no room for fear or self doubt. Highly recommend trying Gracie Barra North Princeton Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Self Defense for yourself. You will not be disappointed!!!! The best part is my son is SMILING AND HAPPY!!! The first impression I had when walking into the gym was how clean it was. There is a great amount of space for kids to roll around.The overall culture was what sold me, the coaches definitely enjoy coaching the kids, and they give positive words that will help them off the mat. The receptionist was very nice and helpful. I have been to 4 other schools before finding this gym and none of them came close to this gym. Looking forward to seeing my daughters progress in Jujitsu.

Family…Walking into an environment like this you never know what you’ll get. I was so blessed to find GBNP. As a former wrestler I knew what I could handle and what I found was the best coaches, partners and energy that created an incredible learning environment not just for me but for all. My fiancé joined me 2 weeks into my journey and felt safe enough to sign up as well. We both smile more now! Thanks to the Professor and all the coaches who make this place great!

As a beginner in Jiu-Jitsu, I was a bit nervous when arriving at Gracie Barra, but I was immediately comforted by their warm and welcoming attitude. Those searching for a dojo look no further because I am sure you will feel the same positive environment that I did.
Was hooked after my first trial class. Everyone at the gym is super friendly and willing to help. I was made to feel very comfortable during my first session even though I have no wrestling or Jiu Jitsu history. The facilities are clean and well kept. The promotional discount they offer this month made this decision a no brainer for me. Classes are a great workout and I’m learning a valuable defense skill at the same time. 5 Stars

This dojo has all the best attributes of the place that teaches martial Art: experienced senseis, great balance between teaching and practice, care for each other among practitioners which does NOT mean people are simply nice but rather that partners sense each others’ limits and help push through them. You would sweat and laugh at the same time.
I have an ADHD son, who finds it difficult to engage in activities. In 10 minutes he was all in with the coach having a blast and asking to go again.
Truly a welcoming joyous environment that provides clear and careful training to meet the students needs. A variety of classes and reasonable memberships. Can't reccomend it enough!

Took my 5 year-old-son for a trial. He loved it, so we signed up. Studio is clean, atmosphere is friendly, and instructors possess a good mix of fun, seriousness and knowledge. I like the creed which will help instill respect, focus, and a non quitting spirit.
Once you walk into to this gym and start training, you gain a second family..... it is by far the cleanest and most caring gym I have ever trained in and the people that work and train here are top notch.....
