  Melanie covered for the gi class - her instructions were clear, easy to understand, and practical for self defense. I enjoyed learning from her. Nick from no-gi explained concepts well and was happy to help when I had questions. Great place to hone your no-gi skills. Highly recommend checking out this school if you are in the area.

  I had an awesome experience dropping in with GB Glendale while visiting a friend who trains there. Professor Robert Hill and his team made me feel so very welcome and made sure I was matched up with a skilled drilling partner who gave great feedback. We worked some good half-guard sweeps and principles and did some fun positional sparring to put the skills to practice. Great welcoming culture with diverse skill ranges and backgrounds. The facilities were super nice, the mats were clean and in great shape (despite the street construction which necessitated the front of the building be boarded up, so you may need to enter through the back). And it was nice to have showers to clean up before my 4 hour drive back home. Bonus for great location with lots of good post-training food options to get protein and carbs! Would happily recommend this to anyone visiting LA, or looking for a new place to train in the Glendale neighborhood! Great family feel. Will visit again for sure!

  I started training here due to convenience when we moved to Glendale. It is such a good school that even after we moved out of Glendale, I kept going here. They have a great adult program and kids program, so it really is jiujitsu for everyone. The structure of the lessons are great because it's a combination of self-defense and sports. Professor Robert and the coaches are very knowledgeable and supportive. This is such a great academy that I ended up enrolling my kids.

  Had the opportunity to train at GbGlendale as I was visiting friends in the area. The facility is nice and clean, the instructor was great. Great gb1 class. If you are looking for a gym in the area, check it out!

  Ohhh heck, this is by far the best Jiu-Jitsu School I’ve been to! I come from doing Muay-Thai, and have been wanting to try Jiu-jitsu for the longest time. When I met my husband, he had been coming here for yearsss. I finally created time and instantly fell in love with it! At first, I was all giggly since it’s a new skill but oh man oh man, Gracie barra jiu-jitsu is the bomb! I’m so happy I get to add this to my fighting, self defense tool belt. What makes this place so special is the people, the community they have built. I always feel so happy coming into the school, onto the mats, people become your friends easily, and I leave better than I came in. Plus, I get to do this alongside my husband, which is an amazing way for us to bond since we both have a huge love for martial arts, it’s fun kicking each others butt haha. All the professors are so kind, beyond skilled, and PATIENT in their coaching. Every class I’ve taken here from the women’s class, that’s right they have an all woman’s class which is awesome, but also their co-ed GB classes are as great! You won’t regret joining this school to learn Jiu-jitsu. Professor Robert has done a wonderful job in creating a safe, fun, successful environment. I’m proud to be a part of this location, family, this Gracie Barra legacy.

  My son has been training at Gracie Barra BJJ for a couple of years now, and it has become our favorite brazilian jiu jitsu class he has ever taken. He has grown to truly love and appreciate the martial art, and I feel that the instructors really care about their students. There are comfortable places for parents to sit and observe their kid during class, and they keep the school (and mats) clean.

  I have my daughter (7 years) enroll in class here. It’s an amazing and friendly environment. My daughter loves going to class especially when she started understanding the moves she has been taught. There are tons of kids her age and she has been making friends in class which makes it a great place to learn. Highly recommend it.

  Great place very personal, from the moment I texted them, I felt welcome They work with you, Good atmosphere for kids We enrolled our grandson, I have not met the other instructors, but Rick and Steve, gave me the impression, they really care about teaching these kids. And have plenty of patience I can’t wait to see my grandson succeed!

  Grateful to call GB Glendale my home school. I tried a few different schools upon moving to LA. This is the school that stood out. Professors that care, a welcoming community, excellent training. I highly recommend training at GB Glendale. (Coach Armen's morning classes are my go-to!)

  Started at GB Glendale in August of 2020 and have been hooked ever since! Fantastic instructors, great variety of classes at a variety of different times (perfect for my revolving work schedule), clean facility, and an overall friendly environment have all been reasons I have stayed at GB Glendale even though I have since moved out of the area. Totally worth the 80 minute roundtrip drive!

  Best Gracie Barra in LA. Professor Rob and his team are real, dedicated and encouraging of all skill levels. They do a great job teaching and challenging everyone with honor and integrity.   My friend recently got me really interested in BJJ. I chose Gracie Barra Glendale for many reasons. The people are really kind, the gym is always clean, and they do a great job of teaching the art as a self defense and a sport.

  Gracie Barra Glendale is a wonderful jiu-jitsu school for virtually everyone. Whether it is self-defense, sport, competition, or just a challenging way to stay physically fit, Gracie Barra Glendale exceeds all of my expectations. Professors Robert and Amanda have created a fantastic environment that can serve the needs of everyone who walks through their doors. My 6 year old son also loves attending his classes and learning in a supportive, yet disciplined environment. Awesome place!

  My son has been going here the last year and a half and he enjoys it. He enjoys the coaches and they help him build his confidence up. They cater to his age and make sure they give instructions that a 5 years old can understand.

  Very crammed and parking is a nightmare when they have two classes going. Owner plays favorites. If your kid is not a part of their click (with one parent doing adult jiujitsu) then your kid will get little to no attention during sparing time. Several parents have confronted at least one coach in public with loud argumentation about rule changes to purposely fit and accommodate favorite groups.
