I've been attending Gracie Barra Columbus for a month with my three kids, and it has been such an incredible experience. All three professors are truly knowledgeable and passionate, always willing to support and guide us through our progress. The atmosphere is welcoming and friendly, making everyone feel at home regardless of skill level. The kids classes are wonderful and help develop confidence in the kids starting from age 4-5. They have so many classes to choose from that it should work with anyone’s schedule. They are even offering more classes starting July 2025. I highly recommend this gym for anyone looking to learn Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

I’m a Black Belt & former instructor of a different martial art. When I was looking for a JiuJitsu school to enroll in I wanted an instructor/teacher who was knowledgeable from real experience in the art of JiuJitsu. I didn’t want someone who only spoke of the “glory days” from long ago, but someone who was still very much a student of his/her art, who had a living passion for it, & had a total willingness to share that passion/knowledge to newcomers of the art, with a great teaching ability to simplify things for a new student. I was lucky to cross paths with Professor Amadeu and he checked all of those boxes. I’m thrilled that he has the opportunity to share his JiuJitsu with the people of Columbus Ohio. The school is a first class facility and professor Amadeu is a first class JiuJitsu black belt! Boa Sorte Professor Amadeu!!! #EquipeGracieBarraABQ -Jake from NM

Great community and environment! The head instructors are very detail-oriented and ensure you're learning everything you need. With the addition of the new amazing female instructor, the class has become even more fun and accountable. As a woman new to Jiu-Jitsu and a minority in most of the classes (hopefully not for too long), I feel safe and respected under their guidance. Not to mention Marcela, one of the owners/manager, who is always there to help you out! Come check it out!!!

My son attended this location while we were traveling. Professor and his family were very welcoming and kind! It was so nice for professor to take the time to get to know Colton as well and make him feel welcomed and comfortable like his home gym. Professor was very knowledgeable as well, highly recommend. We’ve been attending Gracie Barra Jiu Jitsu for 4 years now and they never disappoint, the best out there!

I have known Professor Amadeu and his wife, Marcela, since 2017. When I started jiu jitsu I was nervous and unsure of what to expect. I was skeptical about starting my martial arts journey in a male-dominated field. Professor Amadeu and the entire Gracie Barra team made me feel welcome and safe. This is the most critical aspect of training, especially for women. He is also incredibly knowledgeable and an expert at his craft. Professor Amadeu's approach is patient and kind. I also appreciate that he actively supports his students in helping them work toward and achieve their individual goals. For example, those of us who like to compete, he will push us and coach us in a more competitive direction. For students interested in the fitness and recreational components, he gears training toward those goals. I believe this is also invaluable. If you can train at Gracie Barra Columbus, take it!!
