Stopped in for a comp class while roadtripping through. We were looking to shower because we were traveling in our cars, they didnt have a shower but gave us defense wipes for free which was very kind. Overall seemed like a pretty friendly and welcoming community to me!

This is the best jiu jitsu academy in South Dakota. I’m very grateful to have been able to train here, everyone is very welcoming and high level. Sadly, I had to unexpectedly move across the country, but I wish I could’ve stayed in rapid city to continue training here. I recommend this academy to anyone interested!!

Legitimately the best academy I’ve even been to! Owned & run by some of the best guys, humble & kind killers! It’s evident by the guys who train under them, great jiu jitsu & attitudes. High level jiu jitsu & a great training environment. They’ve really been intentional about cultivating this academy, everything from their gym rules to the family friendly environment with children’s play room, and bringing in high level martial artists consistently & their beautiful & clean facilities. Wish I still lived here and could come regularly, but I love everytime I have the chance to train here! 100/100 come train here if you have the opportunity!

After coming across Goldbar on social media, I decided to finally start my BJJ journey. The Goldbar crew has been nothing but amazing - welcoming me and making me feel comfortable on the mats. All the students are just as supportive working with me at my level I highly recommend Goldbar!
I stopped in for an open mat after Thanksgiving. I was visiting from Des Moines and had been training for 2 years. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. I train 90% no-gi and didn’t bring one with me. Everyone was happy to take off their belt and gi top and give me a few rounds. At no point did I feel like anyone was tying to rip the outsiders head off or go 120%. It was an awesome group of people to train with and I look forward stopping in the next time I’m visiting.

I was in town for the weekend. Dropped in for the Saturday open mat and it was a great experience! David and his students were really cool to roll with. Plenty of mat space and very clean. Perfect gym for beginners and any other level of experience.very clean facility as well.

Outstanding! outstanding in everyway. Most schools will boast about the level of training they provide or the high level instruction they can bring in. But Gold Bar is HOME to those things. The best thing about Gold Bar is that the high level training and the success all the instructors and students have had in competitions is not their identity. Many schools I've been to lean on who they are under or the affiliation they have and use that as their focus of worth or success. Gold Bar Training Center focuses to keep caring for people at the top of their core values. They reach out if I miss classes, just to make sure life's good and see if I need anything on or off the mats. They great me and my family with a smile every time I show up or even see them around town. The instructors even come to my sons football games and my daughters hockey games. You will NOT get the level of care and genuineness anywhere else that Gold Bar provides. doesn't matter if you have no idea what jiu jitsu is, or you are a seasoned black belt. Come and join the family.
First thing you notice when you walk in is a clean, safe, fun environment to train at! They have several world champions who are engaged & friendly with everyone they roll with. Very welcoming community. Have some tough people to train with who are focused on becoming better every day! If youre a new person, or seasoned BJJ practitioner, this is a MUST to train at!

Gold Bar is a fantastic place full of good people! You can train with excellent people who have genuine interest developing martial arts skills for BJJ or kickboxing. If you are looking for the hardest cardio workout while developing striking, I recommend the kickboxing classes. They are intense! If you're looking for grappling skills, a decent chunk of the instructors have literally won grappling world championships. Gold Bar welcomes beginners and have numerous times for classes or even open mats. David, Tiny, Eli, Bones, Joe, Ronnie... they are all super solid guys who make the Rapid City community a better place for all. I have yet to feel unwelcome.

I absolutely love knowing my teenage boys and my husband are getting the highest level of jiu jitsu training and kickboxing in all of Rapid City, SD. This is the Best place, tons of space, great vibes, beautiful mats, tons of mat space, 3 bathrooms and the community is amazing! Thats not all, tons of unlimited classes to choose from and that are available all week.

The coaches are very knowledgeable and friendly. We couldn’t be happier with how patient and passionate they are. Our kids are not only learning jiujitsu but also discipline, confidence, and respect. Hit a few kick boxing classes with my boyfriend. It was a great way to gain confidence and learn some self defense while having fun. Highly recommend for all my ladies out there. We were able to do a couple free walk ins and will definitely be getting a punch card!
This gym start anywhere from the bottom to top level kick boxing and Jui-Jitsu. The instructors are encouraging, experienced and knowledgeable which makes for a great team. It feels like family in there. Awesome job guys can't wait to get back in there.
