We love training here! Successful, enthusiastic, and accomplished coaches. Two talented and highly decorated female black belts with fantastic competition pedigrees. Two more accomplished male black belts. Many advanced level coaches as well, plenty of adult training partners, and a small army of Genesis kids! Very reasonable pricing, no contracts, tons of class times, and great people. All levels, from beginners to black belts, train here. The environment is very welcoming. Competition is encouraged but not required, and there are many very successful competitors here in different age ranges, weight classes, and belt levels. Focusing on the kid's side for this review: Started about 3 years ago with my 4 year old daughter. We came for a trial class and enjoyed it, so decided to keep training. Another big factor was the female ownership and strong female membership. I wanted my daughter to have those examples to look up to. We have never done any martial arts or wrestling before, so I wasn't sure how either of us would fair. My daughter loves her coaches and they really do a great job of keeping things fun yet disciplined and engaging. They all genuinely care about their students. They make sure everyone is safe and working together in a controlled way. Coach Jen and Coach Kat started her off with Wee Warriors and the basic skills. She has been able to move up and promote into the more advanced classes with Coach Kari and Coach Eli. She also loves helping with the younger kids whenever she can with Coach (and owner) Karen, Coach Eli, or Coach Jen. It's nice that all of the coaches generally work together and help eachother, and there are many other coaches that I am sure I am neglecting to mention who have contributed to my daughter's progress. The lessons are consistent no matter who is leading the class, and generally build on the previous lessons or review skills already taught. Plenty of private and small group lessons available as well for extra training if desired. The more my daughter participates and engages with her coaches, friends, training partners, and other competitors, the more she enjoys being at Genesis Jiu Jitsu. She genuinely looks forward to it and misses it when she can't go. Come on in and join the Genesis family!

Everyone at this gym is incredibly kind and welcoming. Genesis Jiu Jitsu has a solid female clientele and it feels amazing to roll and learn from other women. I have truly enjoyed rolling here aside from the friendships that follow. Thank you so much for your welcoming, kind, and professional atmosphere! 💗💗🫶🏻

We are part of this bjj academy now for almost 3 years now. And it is a very welcoming and super friendly environment. No egos and every coach is eager to teach. My son started before me then I started and it’s one of the best things I’ve ever done. I highly recommend Genesis in Azle.

I cannot recommend Genesis JiuJitsu in Azle enough. We started out with our 4 year old joining first and slowly that morphed into me joining as well. Coach Karen and the others are amazing at teaching beginners and getting everyone to learn no matter the age. Jiujitsu has been so great for our son and been great at working on self control as well as building confidence in jiujitsu and no wrestling. As stated, I couldn’t recommend them enough.

My son and I have both joined Genesis. The coaches are phenomenal. Great atmosphere for all ages of kids. We are very happy to be a part of this family.
