  I trained here during my brief stay in Kona and absolutely loved the gym's vibe and the people I met. The atmosphere was welcoming, with friendly teammates and a strong sense of community. Jay genuinely cared about everyone’s safety on the mat and offered insightful advice on improving as both a jiu-jitsu practitioner and wrestler. Highly recommend training here!

  I dropped in at Exodus while visiting Hawaii and had such a great time. Jason and Gretchen are very welcoming and have cultivated a great vibe. Met some wonderful people, had some great rolls, and I definitely recommend visiting this gym!

  I do not normally leave reviews but I genuinely loved taking my two girls here. The coaches are amazing and very patient! They were welcoming and took time to talk to my kids if they were struggling. They would even go out of their way after class to tell them how good they did. I only have good things to say! Highly recommend

  Never been here but, sat across from the place at Ola Brewery, we saw how well they cleaned their mats. My brothers have gotten ringworm on different locations mats so really appreciate the care they put into cleaning their stuff!

  Jason is a very friendly and pleasant person. The atmosphere is relaxed, and the people are also nice and welcoming, creating a family-like environment at the gym. If you are interested in nogi jiujitsu, including heel hooks, you should consider going here.

  My son and I are visiting from California. We went in to do a class and they made us feel like we’ve been going there forever. Jason is an amazing instructor with kids and adults. I highly recommend the place.

  Exodus MAA is a fantastic Brazilian Jiujitsu school with a welcoming and family friendly environment. Professor Jason Tanaka is great and I always leave with something new or refined in my arsenal. I am not from Kona but will always train bjj here when in town.

  Great atmosphere and great people. Dropped in for a class on my honeymoon and right away felt like I was at my home gym. Aside from the great rolls Jason's instructional was also top notch and very beneficial. Next time I'm in Hawaii I will absolutely be back!

  Professor Jason Tanaka is a wealth of knowledge and patients for newbies such as myself. Gretchen his wife and jason run the school and it is great environment for people of all skill levels and backgrounds. I would give them 100 stars if I could!
