Passing through Monterey I was pleased to find Elite Team Jiu Jitsu and see that they offered Nogi classes. Coach Mark and his instructors were extremely welcoming, knowledgeable, and friendly. I very much enjoyed the class structure and the ample time given for live rolling. Coach Mark even encouraged me to stick around for the following class, which I did, after which I was completely exhausted and had a smile that wouldn’t leave my face. Big thanks to Elite Team and everyone who made training such a blast!

I was in town for the IMSA race and needed a place to train. There are a few places to train in the area but this Gym has the fit and feel of my local Checkmat. Friendly environment with challenging roles. As a 49 year old I pick my partners carefully. I never felt any issues here, very controlled partners and I can tell the owner Mark cares about his training techniques and teaches control. If you are looking to get into Jiu Jitsu or need a place to role this is the place to go.

I've been training regularly at Elite Team Monterey for well over three years now. It's a great gym and if you're at all interested in trying jiujitsu, you should check it out. Mark is an awesome instructor, whether you're a total beginner or have ten years experience on the mats. The vibe is open and friendly, the gym is clean, and the team grows stronger every day.

Been to all the jiujitsu gyms in the area, and none have come close to Elite Team Monterey... only been at the gym a few months, and Mark (the owner) has bettered my game than years' worth anywhere else.. His coaching skills and the tough training partners are why I train here.

My entire family has trained at Elite Team. Whether you’re looking to put your kids in jiu jitsu or giving it a try for yourself you couldn’t pick a better place! The instruction and atmosphere are great! I would definitely recommend this gym, no matter your skill set.
