I had been looking for a good place to put my son into for a couple years. I wanted him to have good fundamentals, but also to learn the being more aggressive when needed art of entanglement was a perfect spot for us right away. It was a family atmosphere and we were welcomed in. I have decided to join him at the age of 40, I can really say everybody at that gym is very helpful and super nice.

5/5 gym. I dropped in from out of town, and everyone was very welcoming. Had a great class of instruction, and good rolls to end the session. I’ll be coming back next time I’m in the area, and will be my recommendation to anyone back home who visits Monterey.

I’ve been training here for 5 months, and the environment is great. Everyone is very welcoming and super patient. Coach Chris is not only a talented instructor, but a true competitor who is still taking medals home.

From day one, Chris made me feel like a part of the team. When you walk in, everyone greets each other by name, and there's a genuine sense of support for every person who trains here. There's no in-group/out-group mentality—each individual is truly valued. This kind of positive atmosphere is incredibly valuable and so rare to find. Art of Entanglement is a real gem, and a treasure.

My first No -Gi class training during my first holiday to the USA that surprised me in so many ways with a professional instructor and creative class structure. The warm up was a mixed of dynamic fictional yoga/animal movement that reminded me of my training with an Indian Kushti/Freestyle wrestler training when he came to train with my team in Singapore; which is great for mobilising the joints, strengthen the ligaments and muscles while keeping the heart rate at zone 2. It was followed by 2 rounds of stand up hand fighting exercises/drills then we jumped right into end positional games (guard passing, back mount) and then we jumped right into sparring All that happened in 2 hours. I love how everyone had a learning & training mindset keeping the games light and fun. Would love to come back again when I’m in town. And I the instructor is only a blue belt who just got promoted. He did a great job transferring the structure from the head coach Chris. And if they didn’t tell me in the beginning he’s a blue belt I would have thought he was a seasoned purple based on how he led the team. Lots of love from a little Singapore boy… 🙆🏻🙆🏻
