DREAM ART BJJ RUGBY is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy at Manor Farm on Barby Lane in south Rugby. The academy has a purpose-built sprung-floor matted training area of over 120 square metres, changing rooms, a reception area, family seating, accessible toilet and free parking.
David is the owner/head instructor. He began Jiu-Jitsu at the Chris Rees Academy, competed through purple belt, then earned his Black-Belt and brought Jiu-Jitsu and self-defence instruction to Rugby.
Dave is part of Dream Art Rugby’s coaching team and runs the No Gi programme. He trained mostly No-Gi with Professor Braulio Estima and Stuart Gwilt and offers private lessons in kickboxing and No-Gi grappling for MMA.

I've been practicing jiu-jitsu for over 2 decades and what Dave and Yaz have done in incredible. They've built a community and enhanced that in a brand new training facility. I'd say its one of the best facilties I've trained in and I've trained in a lot. The jiu-jitsu cateres for the average hobbiest right to elite level from tinies to as old as you can keep going. It's not uncommon for there competitors to go a competition and medal. It is definitely a place to start your jiu-jitsu journey!!

After training at Dream Art Rugby for the past two and a half years, I can honestly say that joining this school has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I started Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at the age of 52, which was something I never imagined myself doing. Like many people starting later in life, I had doubts about whether I was too old, fit enough, or capable of learning such a demanding sport. From day one, those concerns disappeared thanks to the welcoming, supportive, and encouraging atmosphere created by the coaches and fellow students. The impact that training here has had on my life has been truly transformative. Physically, I am stronger, fitter, and healthier than I have been in years. Mentally, I have gained confidence, resilience, discipline, and a sense of achievement that extends far beyond the mats. What makes this academy special is not just the quality of the instruction, although that is exceptional, but the culture. Everyone is made to feel welcome, regardless of age, experience, or ability. There is a genuine sense of community, respect, and friendship that makes every training session something to look forward to. If you’re considering starting Jiu-Jitsu, whether you’re 18 or 58, I cannot recommend Dream Art Rugby highly enough. Excellent coaching, Friendly atmosphere and clean training environment I have been training at Dream Art BJJ Rugby for almost 3 years now and the difference between day 1 me and now is night and day this is down to the excellent coaching provided by all the coaches. Aside from the coaching the community that has developed here is what really makes it. I didn't know anyone before I joined, but i was welcomed with open arms by everyone, The effort the guys make to support competitors in their free time is something that really stood out to me. When you step into the building you will see that the hard work continues off the mats by the quality of the facilities provided by DreamArt BJJ team, Honestly wish I found these guys sooner. Stepping onto the mats for the first time can be a daunting experience, but I genuinely don't think there is a better place to learn BJJ
Outstanding BJJ academy – perfect for adults and kids Dream Art BJJ Rugby is an absolutely fantastic place to train. I attend together with my little 4-year-old son, and I honestly couldn’t ask for a better environment for both of us. All the coaches are incredibly kind, patient, and friendly, while also being very professional and knowledgeable. They make everyone feel welcome from day one, whether you’re a complete beginner or already experienced. The kids’ classes are especially impressive — structured, fun, and taught with real care, discipline, and encouragement. My son loves coming every time, which says everything. The atmosphere is positive, respectful, and family-friendly, with a strong focus on confidence, technique, and safety. You can really tell the instructors care about every student’s progress, not just training but personal development too. I’ve been training at Dream Art for a little under two months now, and it’s been an amazing experience so far. Even though I’m still at the beginning of my journey, I’ve already learned so much—not just about Jiu-Jitsu techniques, but also about discipline, focus, and persistence. The instructors at Dream Art are very knowledgeable, patient, and supportive, making the learning environment both challenging and welcoming. The students are also friendly and encouraging, which helps a lot when you’re just starting out. Every class leaves me feeling stronger, more confident, and excited to keep improving. I’m really glad I took the step to join Dream Art, and I look forward to continuing my progress on the mats.

My 3 kids began their journey here. A great gym run by a dedicated and supportive team. Friendly and welcoming, yet driven and competitive. Highly recommended.

Trained at this club as a visitor ….. So everyone knew I wouldn’t be staying around as I live many many miles away …. I was really impressed everyone treat me really well …. The atmosphere was both disciplined and relaxed with great attention to safety and working within your own abilities …. I’m a much older athlete but was encouraged to go at my own pace and take time out if needed …. The facilities are great ….. anyone wanting to get involved with well run club with great black belt instruction for adults or kids don’t sign up anywhere till you’ve tried this place out …. You won’t regret it !

Both my children go to this school and I couldn't have asked for a better group to be involved with. It's helped my previous shy and careful 5 year old boy come out of his shell and is helping my not so shy 3 year old to help learn follow instruction and discipline. They both love going Professor David and his wife Yaz have been very supportive. Lovely bunch of people including other parents and children that attend and feels like a family

This is a great club. Friendly atmosphere and very welcoming for new learners. The professor and rest of the students are always willing to give guidance to new students to help and push to ensure all are happy and learning. High recommended
