I’ve just completed my first 3 days at Dominion MMA in San Antonio, and I’m already blown away by the experience! From the moment I stepped into the gym, I could feel the passion for the sport in the air. My experience at Dominion MMA's Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes was exceptional, as I felt a tremendous sense of discipline when training amidst the sensei's guidance, and the camaraderie fostered among students through hands-on practices, all within an ambiance that instilled a true passion for martial arts.
The best gym I’ve been too, the coaches are amazing and make sure you don’t get sloppy, they make sure you have great technique and stay on top of it, and the students are great people to be around, would definitely recommend!!

My Son Art is absolutely enjoying the MMA class! Coach Joser takes time out to train him because he’s the only 13yr in the class and still remains to be focus on the group as well! As a dad I couldn’t ask for more! Everyone is friendly and such a great attitude at Dominion!

Active duty military here and I can tell you that these guys are awesome people. In a deployed environment they hooked us up with rash guards free of charge. When you’re overseas, things like that really lift morale. Thank you guys!!

Dominion MMA is a veteran friendly gym, who went out of their way to send free rash guards as care package to deployed military members. These allowed deployers to continue training and invite new members to learn the art of BJJ even while deployed.
The couch was great he always made sure I was understanding the moves before moving on to the next lesson and has a great attitude about him. Everyone was patient helping me learn. Thank you Mr. Soto

Muay Thai fundamentals was awesome, one of the best workouts I’ve had in a while. Coach Kru was really nice and gave a lot of good tips throughout. Best experience I’ve had so far in a local mma gym.

Really like how there was no time wasted; we jumped right into the workout and technique training. I appreciate the fact that he introduced himself individually to new students before class began. Amazing place to train...coaches are exceptional...not a fan of the text A.I though...especially the new one they upgraded to recently...it's programmed to be rude...literally told me the old A.I didn't like me and then denied it later on in the convo...have the screenshots...would always recommend calling first unless you wanna chance having your day ruined by A.I...other than that 5 stars...would 100% recommend to anybody looking for a serious place to train ...1 star for the text A.I...count your days

Dominion MMA is without a doubt a fantastic place to train BJJ. It’s obvious to me that each coach I’ve worked under loves BJJ. No doubt they love their students, care about us learning BJJ and becoming the best version of ourselves. The coaches aren’t interested in making things easy - that’s how it should be. They’ll stretch you to ensure you learn and grow. I know that I’m paying them for a service, but I’m getting far more than what I’m paying for!

I’ve recently moved from northeast side of town to west side and have been looking for this type of gym. Location and classes schedule works great for me. I’ve originally came in and spoke to head coach Rey for a bit and have since been to a few boxing and BJJ classes. I’ve had the opportunity to attend classes with coach Rey, Tutt, Antonio, and Tony Hernandez. Wether you can only come once, twice, or as many as you like per week they have different membership plan for that which is great!
Been going to Dominion for 3 weeks now taking the boxing 101 class with Coach Tutt. Really loving it so far and it is challenging as well as fun.
Cayden was great!! I was absolutely new to wrestling and he was very patient. He made corrections and smartly partnered me with a more experienced classmate (who was very encouraging!!). I will DEFINITELY return when I’m back in San Antonio!!

Update: I've been training with Coach Teejay as a new white belt. He's patient and has a wealth of knowledge and the gym has a great, positive atmosphere. Whether you're into BJJ or MMA you can get what you want here.
My time with Coach Teejay was always enjoyable and a great experience. With finishing up a Bacherlors, starting a masters degree and a new job schedule, it was hard for me to continue with classes, but it is still a time I remember fondly and cannot wait for the opportunity to go back Thank you to the Dominion team and specially Teejay as his focus, love, and respect for the mat was clear and passed down to each person that had the pleasures to join him there. Thank you.
Austin was a great coach today. Very inviting and open to helping me learn as a beginner in a little bit more of an advanced class. Will definitely be coming back!

Coach Soto is one heck of an instructor. I’ve always been hesitant about training Muay Thai due to war stories about individuals getting “thrown to the wolves”. My first day he welcomed me with open arms and understood that I had no experience. He was patient with everyone and took time to work with us. He made me feel right at home and open to ask questions. I won’t train anywhere else.
Great Gym, great Coaching Staff
Today was my first morning at Dominion MMA and I participated in the BJJ Fundamentals class. Coach Rey is a plethora of knowledge and made me feel very comfortable. The other members were very welcoming and helpful. A great workout and easy to follow as everything is broken down step by step. Awesome experience.
Coach Angel made Muay Thai fun and educational at the same time. He is very supportive and encouraging, so you learn without pressure.

I had an amazing experience for my first visit. I had absolutely no boxing experience when I walked in and Coach Williams had me walking out feeling well worked and like I had learned some great basics.

Walking in, I was a bit intimidated, but after an introduction with Coach Rey I realized this was a place of care and integrity. Throughout the session, Coach Rey made sure to correct my form and gave me the patience of staying at my own pace as I was new to the class. I could say after coming into the class, I left with motivation and a new sense of discipline for myself and see myself coming regularly!
If you want to learn to fight you should be coming to this gym.

I have been taking classes with Coach Tony and Rey for 3 months now. I started with no experience and have greatly improved over the last few months. Dominion is an incredible gym to train at, and I enjoy working with all of the coaches!

It was my first time ever going to train in a gym. Its definitely a new experience I admit I was a bit nervous an anxious at the same time but when I walked in it just somehow felt like home. The staff was very friendly Steven was great at demonstrating the proper way to execute combos as well as foot movement to help everything flow together as it should be he is also active with helping others that are having a more difficult time, I really enjoyed training with others. Really was a stress free environment I been working on self discipline on my own but nothing crazy I'm extremely glad I showed up to give it a shot I know I'll be back to train here for sure Iv been dealing with a lot mentally and physically this is exactly what's been missing, I can't wait to train again. Thank y'all for allowing me to have trained with you guys I can't wait to see how's this unfolds for me thank you I needed this more than you know.
I frequently drop-in at Dominion MMA for the Boxing but I have learned a lot in a short time training at this gym. Coach Jamar Clark is a really good instructor. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to train Boxing, MMA, BJJ, or just looking to get in shape.
Markus is a great Jiu Jitsu coach that makes learning technical details much easier than other classes/schools I’ve gone to. Dominion MMA also offers many other types of classes that are great if you want to get extensive knowledge on many disciplines and/or wrap it into the MMA classes!
I just tried my first ever MMA class with Coach Rey Rodriguez and had a great time. After some very quick paperwork, I was able to begin training with the class, MMA Fundamentals, which teaches all experience levels regardless if you want to become a serious fighter or just develop some self-defense skills. Coach Rey was very engaged with all members of the group and seemed passionate to teach. (Which made it much easier for me to want to participate). After just one class I feel pretty hooked and have a greater appreciation for the strength, stamina, and skill it takes to compete in a combat sport. I'm very much looking forward to future classes and learning more about the sport.
Coach Jamar Clark has taught me so much in the two days I've worked with him. He takes the time to work with everybody one-by-one. Regardless of whether we are the next Canelo, or we are just there to have fun and stay fit, Coach Clark is there with us. He cares about our form and our balance, and makes sure we are doing everything correctly. And when I mess up, he re-assures me, "It's okay. We are here to work. This is where we learn." I will make the most of my time here in San Antonio and learn from Coach.

I just joined this gym a week ago and I was really nervous coming in the gym but the first day everyone at Dominion MMA made it feel like home. The members are super cool and friendly. The coaches are pretty awesome too. If you are wanting to join any gym as a beginner or a veteran just keeping up your training, this is the place to be.

My 7 and 9yo sons started training here about 6 weeks ago and they love it. They have learned so much In 6 weeks. They look forward to training with coach Teejay in BJJ and Muay Thai kickboxing with coach Tony. They have created an environment that is great for beginners. Each coach brings a different style to the floor so students get a variety of training. Students help each other out when there are questions or don’t have a full understanding to the lesson that is being taught. Coach Rey is very kind and approachable and is willing to take the time to answer all questions.
We’ve been bringing our sons to Dominion MMA for two months now and we are very pleased with the experience and coaches. Kids Jiujitsu class taught by coach Teejay has helped our boys. He has so much patience and he explains everything at a level the kids understand and makes it fun. The kids Muy Tai class is also very good the kids learn how to defend themselves during real life situations. The owner coach Rey is super helpful and approachable and is willing to go above to ensure you are satisfied. Highly recommend this gym.
Great gym. Amazing coaches. They helped me lose of 60lbs! Their jiu jitsu team is the best. They are tough but they will help you reach your goals. Keep up the great work guys!

I started bringing my kids to Dominion in May of 2023. Right away, I could see the difference in coaching and I could see the progress my son was making there. The owner tells you that they are a fighting gym, and that if your child wants to fight, they will make sure that they can. My son has always wanted to be a boxer, but wasn't getting the proper coaching that he needed at other gyms. Coach Tony Hernandez brought him so far in the year that we were there. However, the owner fired Tony in 2023, hired him back, then fired him again in February of 2024. I had conversations with Rey Rodriguez about this, and was given different excuses each time. It's rare to find a coach who legitimately cares about the kids, and Tony Hernandez is one of those coaches, and Rey hired him back again. The only reason I kept my kids there as long as I did was because of Tony. On May 8, 2024, I texted Rey and asked if he was available to corner my son at the Jr Golden Gloves the first weekend of June. Rey told me that he was available, and said to go ahead and register him. However, Rey himself never registered as a coach, and kept telling me that he was going to. As the time for Golden Gloves got closer, he started saying he wasn't sure if he had something going on that weekend, then finally, when it was too late for another coach to register, Rey told me that he had a cage fight to go to in Kerrville that same weekend. Because of Rey's lack of follow through (I honestly believe he had zero intention of ever showing up for my son), my son didn't have the chance to fight. He was placed in the wrong bracket for GG, and the only one who could get that changed was his coach. Again, the only reason I kept him at the gym was because of Tony. I put his membership on pause for the month of June since he wouldn't be here. Now I find out that once again, Rey has fired Tony, and is giving different stories to different people. He can't even keep his lies straight. If you want great coaching, Dominion does have it. However, if you also want integrity and honesty, I would absolutely recommend looking elsewhere. Rey doesn't have it, I don't think he would know what integrity was if it bit him. And since Rey already has his minions trying to discredit me, I'll add my receipts. He said he never "endorsed" my son to fight. Circle the wagons, I guess.
Been trying to cancel, wake up to see them trying to charge my card almost every single night. Tried to cancel in person and through the phone but still getting charged. They tried pulling out of my account three times Sunday night, all around 12 minutes apart.
Cancelled 6 months ago, still getting charged and having to go through bank for refunds.
