  Came to Louisville on business and was so excited to be able to visit the Derby City MMA gym and take a BJJ class taught by Chewy. The experience was amazing. The family culture of the gym is what stood out the most. I was welcomed with open arms and can't wait to come back.

  Amazing gym! Trish (sorry if I misspelled) called shortly after I signed up for the trial class and encouraged me to come in. Professor Nick (Chewy, IFYKYK) is just as friendly in person as anyone could be. Extremely knowledgeable and super happy to give tips. Felt incredibly welcomed as a visitor by everyone. Great group of people. If you're in the area, stop in for a class and snag a shirt.

  Was in the area and asked if I could drop in for a class and they said come on in! Great staff, great instruction and cool people to roll with if you live in that area or are passing through hit them up it will be worth your time. Definitely my home away from home when I am in that area! UPDATE: 1/16/2023 Dropped in again and had a blast! I standby the original review and comments if you are in the area contact them! 12-22-23 I’ve been to Derby City 5 times now and it’s a great place to visit don’t skip it go get some training in!

  By far one of the best gyms I’ve been to. This gym is full of warriors! The instructors and students welcomed me in with open arms and made me feel like I was home. If you live in this area and want to learn BJJ, this is your place!
