I attended an open mat while visiting Tucson for the holidays. I enjoyed training here! The skill level was very high and people were friendly and respectful while rolling. I will definitely return when I come to town in the future.
Been training for going on 2 weeks at Daimyo BJJ. The coaches are incredible! The fundamentals class on Monday and Wednesday are great! I highly recommend it! The only regret I have is not starting sooner! 10/10
I came here for open mat, Robert and Kenny and everyone else greeted and made me feel welcomed. Great atmosphere, and would recommend anybody that trains or wants to start their jiu jitsu journey to give this place a go.
I’m a purple belt and have trained for five years. I live in Vermont, but every time I visit my parents in Tucson I train here. I’ve explored some other gyms in the area, and though they are also great, there is something special about Daimyo. In particular, their mat space and high skill level are unique. It’s the most spacious gym I’ve ever been to. They can easily accommodate 50 people rolling on the mat at the same time. I remember being really impressed by their number of high level belts at open mat - I counted over ten black belts one time. I’ve honestly never seen this level of skill at any of the dozen plus other gyms I’ve explored. I’m very grateful to Manny and all the folks at Daimyo who are so welcoming when I visit. It seems like a wonderful community to be a part of.
We got our 4 year old started at Daimyo , and from day one everyone has been over the top helpful just overall amazing teaching our 4 year old . They pay attention , they assist and help like they actually care . Love to see it . Highly recommend!
Dropped in here on vacation. Professor Manny provided quality instruction that was sequential and organized. Everyone was friendly and didn’t try to smash the visitor even though it was a few days before their tournament. If I lived here I would definitely train here. Thanks again!

I am currently attending the kickboxing classes and I must say, this place has a friendly, welcoming, non-judgemental atmosphere and sense of community. I was nervous about starting something new, now I regret not coming sooner. Great classes!! You get an AWESOME workout. I highly recommend this place! I came in with no previous experience and have learned alot! 5+ stars!!!
the best after-school activity for my son help him all around personally ,self esteem,problem solving and drive to achieve goals. Instructors are great always looking to get the best out of the kids
Seriously the best place to learn jiu-jitsu. The coaches give great insight and have helped me improve faster than I have been able to in the past. On top of that the academy has amazing rolling partners that also; teach, challenge, and make you feel part of the team.

My son absolutely loves learning jujitsu at Daimyo! He is always eager to go to class and learns something new every day. The coaches are amazing with the kids. They encourage the kids to work hard and teach them valuable life lessons as well. Everyone is so supportive of each other and it feels like a big family.

Best way possible to describe Daimyo: WOW. This academy provides a great atmosphere for all levels of training. From the super out of shape whitebelt to hard-core competitors, they have it all. Coach Brenda Soto, along with her 2nd in command, Coach Vonnie, have built a huge and talented women's program, providing a safe space for women to train. The adults Program, with Coach Manny, Coach Brenda, and so many others, is second to none, with a competition/wrestling class featuring Coach Augie Romero, that leaves you feeling exhausted and at the same time exhilarated at the training you've just gone through. Tiny warriors and kids classes teach respect and focus while keeping it fun and lighthearted. The kickboxing program, led by Blackbelts Coach Cri-Santos and Coach Justin, has been growing quickly, and offers a fun and challenging experience. Seriously, if you are looking for a great place to train, give Daimyo a try. You'll soon find yourself part of the family!
Amazing coaches, teammates, and gym culture. Good for adults AND kids. Fit or not fit. Anyone who wants to learn the sport should come train! I started with ZERO grappling or fighting experience. From the first day I walked in, I felt welcome. A lot of awesome JiuJitsu practitioners (especially at 6 AM :) ) and everyone is always willing to help each other learn about the game and get better.
I can’t say enough about Daimyo. Went there nervous and not knowing what to expect. From the very first phone call and intro class I knew this was the right place to start my BJJ journey. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Place is clean with a family environment. I would highly recommend calling them and starting your journey.
The head professor Manuel and all the coaches are very knowledgeable . It's a very clean and friendly environment to train BJJ. Huge facility with lots of equipment to train. Being a part of the Paragon Arizona family we have the unique option to be able to train at all 3 locations in town. I am honored to be part of Team Paragon Arizona! Daimyo BJJ is an excellent place to train for the whole family from adults of all levels down to their Tiny Warriors program. It has a friendly atmosphere that makes you feel you are a part of the family from the moment you walk in the door. I visited with the Flores Family while on travel. This is one top notch school! I have never trained that hard in my life, plus the elevation change didn't help. Thank you to the Flores Family for always making me feel like Family!
