Highly recommend this place if you want to get back into the active lifestyle, looking to do crossfit, or want to try something new! The coaches are helpful and people are pretty welcoming. I've been doing the Bootcamp program for a few months now and it's been a super fun! Coach JP leads the program and he's friendly and amazing at what he does. His wife, Coach Mo, is equally amazing as well as all the other coaches I've met so far. I've definitely noticed a change in my strength, physique, and overall approach to fitness. The classes are challenging but there's good music and JP's dad jokes so you're going to crack in a laugh here and there while covered in sweat. Overall, the program is pretty lively and makes you want to come back for more. It can be intimidating at first but with consistency and asking for help on techniques and lifts, it'll get better with time. Everyone has to start somewhere! The guy at the front desk (Nam) is also good at getting new members acclimated to the gym and makes you feel comfortable so don't be afraid to speak up or ask questions!
Posted 2 years agoBeing relatively new to the East Bay, I wanted to find a gym and community nearby. I’ve always been intimated by CrossFit and so I was glad to stumble on a bootcamp classes option on Classpass. Coach JP and Mo were so friendly and welcoming and after the first class, I was craving to come back again and again. I then signed up for a Saturday bootcamp but the ClassPass app was having a glitch and messed up the schedule. They introduced me to the CrossFit and the rest is history. I’ve been coming to OW for a little over a year. Everyone from the coaches, to the staff, to the members have been nothing but welcoming. If you’re ever keen to joining a community, look no further. Thank you One World!
Posted 2 years agoAmazing space for a Crossfit gym in the bay area, definitely the biggest in the tri-city! If you are looking to do olympic weightlifting, crossfit, self defense, etc. this is the place to be!
Posted 7 years agoAbsolutely outstanding experience. I started here over 10 years ago then moved out of state for a while. Came back late 2023 and the atmosphere was exactly what I remembered and why I came back. Extremely challenging program, the trainers clearly put in a lot of work and thought into the workouts and again, there's just something about that box. Feels like family. Everyone helps everyone, there's no ego, no negative vibes. I've seen the transformation in some of the newbies and its just insane, including myself. If you're looking to get in shape, and you're looking for a home away from home, you will not be disappointed!
Posted 2 years agoI joined One World in August 2021. I started attending the evening bootcamp classes. On my first day, coaches Jp and Mo introduced me to the class. Everyone in the class was very welcoming, and the coaches observed me to ensure I was doing the movements safely. I felt very comfortable on my first day. During my time in bootcamp, I learned new skills and developed the confidence to do movements I found intimidating before such as box jumps (shout out to Coach Lalyk for helping me build that confidence). Eventually after a few months of bootcamp, I wanted to do more barbell movements and tried CrossFit. The CrossFit WODs are thoughtfully programmed. For example, Coach Ron programmed a multiple week cycle intended for upper body strength development. I didn't finish the cycle due to reasons unrelated to CrossFit (mostly because I was focusing on another sport I'm participating in), but I understood and appreciated his method. The coaches are experienced in the CrossFit movements, and I've observed they are supportive of the members' goals and journeys. At this moment, I switched to Olympic weightlifting due to a change in my goals. The weightlifting program has excellent coaching--Coach Yatsek encourages team spirit and to have fun lifting. The atmosphere is supportive, and I enjoy going to every training session. Almost two years later after stepping into OW, I feel physically great and have made some awesome friends. If you are looking for a place to feel welcomed as you pursue your wellbeing goals, come check out One World.
