5 Stars – Life-Changing Experience! Joining Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Council Bluffs has been one of the best decisions of my life—hands down. From the moment I stepped onto the mats, I knew I had found something special. The atmosphere is unlike anything else: supportive, motivating, and full of people who genuinely want to see each other grow—not just as martial artists, but as individuals. Bryon is an incredible coach and leader. His passion for BJJ is contagious, and he brings out the best in every student. He knows how to challenge you, push your limits, and still make every class feel fun and empowering. He’s not just a great instructor—he’s the kind of person who makes you want to show up, put in the work, and become better every single day. Physically, I’ve never felt stronger, more agile, or more in tune with my body. But the biggest transformation has been mental. This gym has helped me build confidence, resilience, and peace of mind. It’s not just about learning how to defend yourself—it’s about discovering what you’re truly capable of. What makes this place stand out even more is the sense of community. I’ve made lifelong friends here—people who cheer me on, roll with me, and push me to be my best. It’s more than a gym; it’s a second family. For the first time in a long time, I feel like I’m fully myself. I came in as a complete beginner with zero experience, and in just a few weeks, I’ve made more progress than I ever imagined. The growth I’ve seen in myself physically, mentally, and emotionally is incredible—and it’s all thanks to the guidance of Bryon and the welcoming, driven atmosphere here. This is a family oriented gym that didn't open too long ago but has really made an impact on the community. My wife and I have been training here for about a year. We have had the pleasure of meeting some wonderful people and the opportunity to learn a lot from Coaches Byron and Britt.

Coach Byron and Britt have a passion for helping others and it shows in the community they're building through their school. Everyone is supportive and helpful. They're patient and do a great job keeping young kids engaged. They're not just very supportive of kids in jiu jitsu, they understand the need for women in jiu jitsu as well. They offer women's only classes that foster an environment that is inclusive, supportive, and empowering to women. We've enjoyed joining this little family.

My son goes here and absolutely loves it. Everything about this place draws you in. The team, the black belt master/instructor, the adult classes and more than fair pricings. They've successfully created the atmosphere that the movies tell you about 😄❣️ Definitely worth more than 5 stars!

Just got done with the class was brought in by a friend. I haven’t done much grappling for the past 10 years so I came in just excited to learn and it was 100% worth it. Everybody was respectful and helpful. We practiced some techniques and rolled for awhile. I’ve never grappled someone who specializes in Brazilian jujitsu. These guys are a different breed and I can’t wait to learn more from them.

Professor Byron and Coach Britt are building an awesome school/gym for the Council Bluffs community. My boys (15 and 9 years old) have been training at CBBJJ since the summer of 2023 and I have witnessed so much personal growth out of both of them under Byron's & Britt's tutelage.

CBBJJ is amazing!! As a mom, I was very nervous about my children starting Jiu-Jitsu. Once I enrolled them, they have loved every second of it! Byron and Britt have accepted us with open arms and are very patient with my children! They are extremely knowledgeable and very passionate! The change in my child’s attitude is a complete turnaround. They offer many different classes for all ages! They even have an all women’s self defense class! If you live in the Council Bluffs area and want to learn jiu-jitsu, CBBJJ is the place to be. My three top reasons I would encourage you to visit the CBBJJ: 1. Black belt level instructor 2. Gracie Barra's curriculum 3. Family-based atmosphere jiu-jitsu is truly a life-changing experience for all practitioners. However, finding a good team that can help foster that experience is critical. With that in mind, the team at CBBJJ is capable of nurturing you in your jiu-jitsu journey. Don't take my word for it, CBBJJ offers a free class and drop-ins are always welcome.

I've only known Byron and Britt for a short time, but I just wanna say that they are amazing. Their passion for Jiu-jitsu is great, and also they are very understanding too, like if i need to miss a day due to being sick or having headaches or so on, they are understanding and tell me to get well soon . Also we have the best conversations about basically anything. Plus Byron is just an all around cool and funny dude so we get along very well . In conclusion yall are great keep up the awesome work you do for our community and keep being passionate about Jiu-jitsu

I’ve known and have been rolling with Professor Byron for at least a decade. His Jiu-Jitsu knowledge is off the charts. He can break down even the most complex techniques into easy to understand and apply lessons to even the most beginner student. He and Brit deeply care about every student and are committed to their success. If you train Jiu-Jitsu or are just thinking about it, definitely schedule an appointment to talk to professor Byron right away.

What makes this gym even better is his partner and wife, Britt, who shares the same passion and love of jiu-jitsu as Byron does. These guys are the absolute best! I have known the family for over 3 years, watched their family grow, and appreciate all the instruction they have given us. Byron has a perfect demeanor for teaching all levels of Jiu Jitsu, from brand new to elite athletes. Britt has literally inspired my kiddos from almost quitting her HS wrestling team to a huge comeback and dominating her season and cage fighting at the highest level for kids in Abu Dhabi in 2022. We can't wait to visit y'all and wish you were closer.
