Reviewing something you love can take time, so that’s what I gave, I gave it time. I came across CJJF while scrolling through Instagram feeling overweight, overwhelmed, and unorganized. Let’s not forget depressed. I walked into this environment and experience not knowing what to expect. I didn’t know if I would be judged, belittled, or even laughed at. Like who am I to try Jiu Jitsu!!! I soon learned that all of those thoughts were lies and that CJJF was the place that was going to take me out of that mindset! I tried a few classes and it gave me a rush, those classes gave me purpose all over again. The third class is when something amazing happened. I found joy in moving my body again and I learned that nothing else mattered when I was on that mat. The problems of every day melted away along with any fears of trying something new. I was welcomed here like family and encouraged every step of the way not to give up but to give myself a shot at being better than what I was before I walked into CJJF. It’s been weeks maybe even a month since I started and I look forward to every moment I am here at CJJF. I’ve learned many Jiu Jitsu moves, self defense, and I am learning everyday. The professors, instructors, coaches, and team wants to see you succeed. The owners poured their heart into creating this space and everyday you can see it when you step on the mat. Of course there are other Jiu Jitsu places. However, this place is more than just a building with people rolling around and getting some battle scars. It’s a place that grows your mind, body, soul, and confidence. If you are on the fence of trying out CJJF, you might as well jump!

I believe I was led to the right place, at the right time in my life. I love martial arts and I’ve been missing it so much. The classes are amazing, my fellow trainees are really great and a joy to train with, our instructors and Professor Aaron are amazing and thorough. He checks on us & they all care. Everyone has high respect for one another and so helpful no matter what. You can ask for help, no one gets mad, we all are on the same level when it comes to mindfulness and respectfulness. I feel I belong and it means a lot to me. I felt welcomed immediately and I never felt nervous or afraid, just excited about learning, training, and bettering my health. I have never felt so welcomed and supported. My son has a mind and attitude of a 16 year old and as a mom that is terrifying because I know how I was at 16🤣 Anyway after many classes of him hitting kids and not listening, and having to sit out, he finally made it through a class and is getting the hang of it! It's because of the professors/coaches and staff that kept welcoming me and my son regardless of how wild he was acting. I’ve wanted to get into martial arts for years, but felt that the time had passed with me being in my 30s. After encouragement from a friend to try BJJ, I went to the trial class at a few gyms and CJJF stood out amongst them. The professors and coaches are outstanding, and there’s plenty of newer members to train with before rolling with the higher belts. The 42 day challenge was exactly what I needed to kickstart some eating and training discipline. The app and the meal plan were perfect for keeping my focused. The gym is great, the students are awesome and am getting to know several through their mentoring and being patient with me on the mat. The coaching is outstanding....so many different levels of communication and technique from some amazing people who love BJJ and love their students. Really grateful to everyone for welcoming me in and opening my eyes to the BJJ world. I even got to roll with my brother when he visited from Idaho, which he's been wanting to do for years (he's a high level purple belt) and was a highlight of the summer for he and I.

(¿FREE?) 42-Day Warrior Challenge – Is it a legit challenge to get you in serious mental & physical shape AND/OR is it just a tactical marketing scheme designed to get you to sign up for a membership? Short answer - it's up to you. I signed up to be one of the "20 people" to go through this challenge with one serious goal in mind, follow the program every day with full intent. Was I perfect? No. But if done correctly, the challenge can truly re-program your mind and body for the better. Two things that make this Warrior Challenge effective: 1) Accountability to the Coaches. 2) Accountability to yourself. Do what the program says and there's no way you come out the same person.

I can’t say enough good about this place. Professor Aaron is amazing! I went in on a challenge program. I went in just to learn Muay Thai…while doing this program I lost weight. I was excited and surprised and knew that I was going back! They have an easy to follow meal prep program and get this…YOU DONT HAVE TO THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU NEED BC THERE IS A GROCERY LIST! I don’t know about yall but I give up when I have to make a list go shopping for stuff on the list and then prep. It is so freaking easy! They are not just teaching what to do on the mat….they are helping outside of those 4 walls, which most places just don’t do that! When CJJF says you are family…YOU ARE FAMILY! I was struggling with some medical issues and I was getting messages checking in on me! Which is another thing I love about cjjf! They have an app that makes it so easy to communicate with the teachers there! They are swift with their communication and the app makes it easy to log your progress! When I found out they have a kid program I was like as soon as my youngest daughter is old enough, she will train at CJJF! This is a place to go for consistency and to get better at your craft! 100% recommended

Sean Spencer teaches amazing privates! As a retired MMA fighter, he’s one of the best to learn from in the industry! The gym is extremely clean and the community is amazing. Everyone is very welcoming as soon as you walk in the doors, not making you feel out of place as a newbie! I recommend taking some privates or semi privates with Sean to help build a strong foundation.

I ran across CJJF on an Instagram post saying they were looking for people to do a 42 day challenge. I went in and met with Aaron (owner and professor) and had a great discussion about life, health, and goals. I decided to take the jump and have enjoyed every minute of it. Currently going mainly to the Jiu Jitsu classes, but plan to sprinkle in Muay Thai as well. There's a variety of folks that go; novice to black belt, young to old(er). I had trained some before at a previous gym and my honest feedback here is that the training is in depth, everyone is willing to help train and teach, and aside from the discipline of Jiu Jitsu, it's always a great way to start or end your day.

UPDATE: It's been 7 months since this review and our family still LOVES CJJF West Frisco! Our two sons want to be there to train as often as they can. Truly still so happy my husband found this place. Great place. Great people. Great place to train for kids and adults! My sons have been training here for a year. It has been a terrific experience for the whole family. They love it! The coaches are very knowledgeable and do a great job passing that knowledge to the kids. They are encouraging but also instill great discipline in the students. It’s a great community! I can’t say enough good things about CJJF West Frisco. Never thought I’d be a BJJ mom, but I am now!Try a class! You won’t be disappointed and you may get hooked.

Signing up my young son at CJJF West Frisco was one of the best decisions I ever made. His discipline, work ethic, focus, confidence, respect, and physical ability have all greatly improved due to their mentoring. The coaches and staff are all excellent. Highly recommend CJJF West Frisco - it teaches young children far more than just jiu jitsu.

My whole family goes to CJJF and we absolutely love it. It doesn't matter the age 4 - 34, I feel like each age group gets such great instruction. Our kids are learning about putting in the hard work and bettering themselves. Professor Aaron knows how to push the kids to work and dedicate themselves while still maintaining a fun and playful environment. The confidence this instills in our kids really shows. Highly recommend!

If you are looking for a place to start your Jiu Jitsu journey you won’t find a better place than CJJF West Frisco!! Both of my kids train at CJJF West Frisco and get nothing but the best instruction. The instructors instill a confidence and discipline in my kids that you can’t get anywhere else. The community they have created is second to none. The gym is constantly filled with people who want to help you along your journey, which is exactly why I joined as well. My only regret is that I didn’t do it sooner!!

I recently participated in the 42-day warrior challenge at CJJF West Frisco, and it was a fantastic experience. The community-focused approach of the academy is something that stood out to me. Everyone was incredibly welcoming and supportive, making the learning process much more manageable. The challenge was a great way to learn the basics of jiu-jitsu and become more active. As someone new to the sport, it was the perfect introduction and transition to joining the academy and continuing with my future goals in mind. What I loved most about the challenge was not only the physical benefits of being more active but also the mental benefits. Jiu-jitsu is not just a sport; it's a way of life. The techniques I learned during the challenge helped me gain confidence and improve my problem-solving skills. Overall, I highly recommend CJJF West Frisco and the 42-day warrior challenge to anyone interested in learning jiu-jitsu and becoming a part of an incredible community. The Professors and Coaches at CJJF West Frisco are top tier. Their level of care and close attention to detail when teaching the youth classes is truly remarkable. They also impart important life lessons about things like honor, respect, and accountability. My 5 year old daughter started going to CJJF a little over 3 months ago. We can not recommend this place enough to our friends. Professor Aaron and all of the other coaches are so great with these kids. There could be 25 kids in a class and Professor Aaron and Coach Keenan will be able to call out each kid by name. Professor Aaron is stern, yet playful and the kids respect him. There are gyms much closer to our home but we are willing to drive over 45 minutes 2-3 times a week to come to this location. I feel like this has helped my daughter in so many ways and we only just got started. Can’t wait to see her grow.

Instructors do a great job making you feel welcomed every visit, facility is nice, always clean, very beginner friendly, the other students make you feel like family, everyone is very supportive and the atmosphere just gets you looking forward to each visit!! I was very hesitant and nervous about getting into jiu jitsu, but after my first week of the 42 day warrior challenge, I was HOOKED!!

I have been coming here for about 2-3months now. My sister and I had initially joined the 6 week program, we really enjoyed the program so much, we decided to continue the classes after our program ended, Professor Aaron, Professor Anthony, Coach Adri, amongst the other Amazing coaches there, really make you feel welcomed and are so eager to help. My sister and I, since we started coming. We have felt confident in ourselves, happy and very energetic. I absolutely love this place, I highly recommend trying it out if you are serious about trying something new, and wanting a serious change in your life. Thank you to Professor Aaron and Adri. The CJJF program is fantastic! I first signed up for the 45 days challenge with little to no BJJ experience. From the 1st day of training I’ve loved every bit of it. The instructors are highly skilled, knowledgeable and posses a high level of understanding of the techniques and are good at teaching all level of students. The gym atmosphere is positive and I’m glad to be part of the CJJF Family!

I absolutely love CJJF W. Frisco! The Professors/Coaches are one of the best of the best! I have had my daughter here since Oct of 2022, and I just recently started doing it myself and convinced my sister to do the 42 day challenge with me. We didn’t do it to lose weight but more so of gaining self confidence and doing something for ourselves. Best gym to sign up at!
