I’ve trained BJJ at gyms around the world. None of those can compare to CJJF. CJJS’s black belt professors are great at adapting the maneuvers to different fighting styles and body types and the training partners are great at pushing me outside my self-imposed mental boundaries. All in all, I couldn’t ask for a better learning environment and experience.

CJJF is the best place I have trained at by far. It is clean, efficiently run, and a great place at making you feel comfortable. They really train you by answering any question and sometimes even answering the same question over and over. Any level is welcome and treated equally. Great place overall.
I trained 10 years ago and decided to checkout CJJF locally in Prosper. I was impressed with the facilities, with high quality mats, two clean bathrooms, ample storage for your stuff. More importantly, the instruction was concise and well delivered with not too much time spent on one aspect of class which makes class move along well. Interacting with CJJF is efficient. Online process, text response for confirmation, good communication and smooth no pressure onboarding zoom call. If you’ve trained before or are new I’d recommend for all the reasons mentioned above, as well as the welcoming people at class and instructors. The owner is also very approachable and helpful. Stop making excuses and check it out. You might just meet your new best friend.
From day one at the Caveirinha Academy in Prosper, the sense of community has been incredible, and the patience of all the professors has made learning a rewarding experience. I started with the Warrior Challenge and have enjoyed every class since. The coaching has been top-notch, and the 1:1 time with instructors has really helped me refine my learning and address any questions I’ve had. I joined CJJF 6 months ago. I am in my late 50s, and wondered if would be able to handle the training. The staff at CJJF are welcoming and encouraging. CJJF works hard to build a sense of community and inclusiveness. CJJF staff watch out for their students, and try to protect them from injury. I cannot say enough good things about CJJF. I have lost 21 lbs. My waist is 2.5 inches smaller. I have reduced my % of body fat by 1.7%, so I am loosing fat - not muscle. (All without changing what I eat.) I recommend Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to anyone. It is good for the body and mind. My only regret is that I did not start sooner.

The professors, coaches, and my teammates are some of the most positive, encouraging, and welcoming people I've had the pleasure of meeting. I've been here a year now and it's been one of the best years of my life. When I started, I had absolute zero knowledge about anything jiujitsu related, and now I can't stop showing up to learn, challenge myself, and be around the people who motivate me and make me feel at home. There's no better place to start your journey and change your life.

I’ve just started my 4th week at CJJF and I’m already down over 16 lbs!! I’m really enjoying the work outs, I’m learning self-defense, benefiting from the stress relief that it provides and building my self-confidence.The instructors are professional and the people I’m working out with are great! Everyone is eager to help out. I just turned 60 this year and I was tired of the same old workout routine going nowhere so I gave CJJF a try and don’t regret it at all!!!
We joined the 42 the day challenge with my husband and really took advantage of the virtual classes and nutrition, Jon and team are very supportive and attentive to keep you consistent, if you are looking for good work out, be disciplined and get results fast this is a good option
we enrolled in the challenge with my wife, our life has become very hectic and really have no time to work out, cook in advance for our food. but Jon and team showed us a very good process on how to keep it consistent, I managed to lose 15 pounds of my initial weight and after the challenge I have not gained it back, if you are looking to transform the way you, eat, get some discipline this is a good way for you.

Great place for adults and kids to train and learn jiu jitsu. After joining just myself initially, I now have both of my sons enrolled and we are all learning practical self defense along with valuable life lessons. Highly recommend to all!!
We enrolled our daughter at CJJF a little over a year ago. We couldn't be happier with our decision to enroll her into the program. All the coaches have been very welcoming, and very engage with the kids and showing them the right positions and the right moves for every lesson. Our daughter signed up for her first tournament, and with the help of private lessons with Coach Nicci, she placed third in her division, and signed up for the very next tournament. Coach Nicci has been a great supporter and has made the classes very engaging and supportive especially for girls and women. Her women only class is a great way to boost women training in the jiu-jitsu community.
We signed up our awkward, 14 year old to hopefully boost his confidence and give him something that he’ll find purpose in. First class, he was covered in sweat and grinning from ear to ear. Hooked. CJJF has been welcoming and like an instant crazy family. Neil always respond to my questions quickly and efficiently. He goes every week with no complaint and loves the friends he’s meeting of all ages. He has wins and fails every class and is truly learning about his strengths and weakness. Plus they have fun. Professors see him struggle and reteach and push him out of his comfort zone which makes success that much sweeter. Only complaint is there is limited seating for parents to watch but he’s too cool for me so I wait in the car.
I just wrapped up their 42-day weight loss challenge paired with their Mauy Thai Classes. I’m beyond thrilled with the results. The combination of nutrition plans and expert coaching was a game-changer for me. The coaching was exceptional - the trainers were not only knowledgeable but also incredibly motivating, which made every session a pleasure. The supportive environment at the gym, including the students, played a crucial role. Big shoutout to John for being the welcoming force at the door! His positive energy and motivational words make a huge difference for everyone walking in. It’s like an instant mood lifter. Overall, CJJF has exceeded my expectations. The only question I had was how to become a member. Having just finished my first week and training everyday, I couldn’t be happier. I joined as part of the challenge and it was a gateway drug. The team and coaches are all great. It’s a great place to learn. Everyone is in encouraging and you can tell the higher belts are as technical as they are passionate. I lost 5% body fat during the challenge, but this is just the beginning. I can’t wait to continue my BJJ journey here.
Dropped in while on vacation for my kids to train. (Kickboxing) Staff is very friendly and accommodating, the 11am class was small and all adults but my kids trained right along with them and had a blast and worked their butts off! Thank you we’ll be back if we’re ever back in Prosper!

The attention to detail during instruction is outstanding, and all the instructors work hard to ensure that the kids are able to practice and perform what they've learned proficiently. I’ve trained with CJJF in Muay Thai for a month now, and it has been a great experience. Everyone involved from the staff and coaches to the others in the class are super friendly and all there to help eachother learn and train hard. If you’re new to Muay Thai like I am, this is a great place to get started. Bring a humble and dedicated attitude and you can’t go wrong. Each class starts off with a warmup, then into fundamentals (usually thigh kicks left and right) then into drills or a lesson, then ending off with a quick cooldown exercise circuit. However each class is something different and never gets stale.
This is an amazing BJJ academy. I've been training Jiu Jitsu for 20 years, I've trained all over the world, and this is one of the best schools I've had the opportunity at which to train. Great vibe, great people, and top notch instruction. If you are going to train, this is the place to do it.
I have been to several places to train and alway got to the parking lot and drove off. I came across this place and decided to get out of my truck and walk in. Immediately I felt the positive atmosphere and met awesome friendly people. I used to train 10+ years ago in something similar and wanted to find somewhere where I can train and do something I used to love. This is the place. Just walk on in and you’ll find out.

I did a lot of research and visited several different Jiujitsu locations to find the best place for my 3 year old son. I really like this CJJF Academy because of the instructors and the cleanliness of the gym. As I mentioned, my son was 3 when he started and I wanted a place that was going to really teach him and not just let him play as this is a big investment. Coach Nicci is structured and has a good way of teaching the little ones. She explains to them why they should not act or do certain things while on the mat. All the coaches are great with the kids and take this seriously. Clearly a 3 year old can take a couple of weeks to adjust. My son has only improved since he started. Well worth investment.
I joined CJJF as part of a 42 day challenge to lose weight, get in shape, and have fun doing it - all while learning some valuable skills. I can's say enough about the value of the leadership and community here - support has been outstanding as I've lost quite a few pounds, gotten in better shape and learned some cool self-defense and BJJ techniques. Private lessons with Coach Nicci and Coach Luis have been a game changer for both our kids. These hour long sessions are jam packed with action keeping the kids moving, learning, and strengthening skill sets! Both coaches customize lessons to the skill sets of their students, and push to raise the bar each and every practice. So grateful for these two coaches for providing these private lessons for their students!

This is an awesome place to train with a good group of people. The instruction we receive is also excellent. There are a lot of experienced instructors that are excited to share their knowledge with the students. This isn't a gym where people just go to smash others, it's actually like a family, but not in a cheesy or cult-like way. We support each other and take care of each other because you can't train if you don't have other people to train with. I also lost 50 pounds within a year, from training here consistently and eating right.

I was looking for a Jiujitsu Academy here in Texas to continue my Jiujitsu journey and I found this school. Friendly people, great atmosphere and most of all very clean Academy. Professors are very approachable and friendly. Prof. Jonathan help me to get back in shape. I lost 17lbs of my weight when I accepted the challenge. Great way to get back in shape and at the same time learn the gentle art.

My son has been attending CJJF for the past few months and is having the best time. He has grown so much. The coaches spend a lot of time focusing on listening, discipline and being great partners to our “friends.” Coach Nicci is so great with the kids. She is patient and the kids love her. She possesses a great talent of being kind and firm at the same time. Coach Nicci keeps the parents and kids laughing daily as she navigates teaching a class of 3-5 year olds. I am so glad we found CJJF and even happier that Coach Nicci is our son’s coach.
Six weeks ago, I started the CJJF Academy Texas HQ 42 Day Warrior Challenge. Needless to say, I’m more than impressed and happy with how it worked out. I lost 15 lbs. and 6% body fat and had to tighten my belt three holes in just those six weeks. Professor John provided a meal plan, workout program and in class sessions three times a week. All this was tracked on a very well-designed app for my phone. The days not in class you had body weight style workouts with easy to follow instructions and videos on the app. I started with no Jiu Jitsu training other than a couple classes back in the day (1999 ish) with the Army. I have had a blast! All the other members are there to help you and training is just that training to ensure you understand the concept of the movement. Each week is one movement which you hone on and improve to develop more and more knowledge. At the end of each session is a ten-minute sparring session used to have the partner provide a little bit of resistance, and you want to talk about sweating it out and finding you have limited endurance this is the time. I highly recommend joining CJJF. If you are looking to try to do the Challenge to see if it’s for you, then go in and ask about it. I enjoyed it so much; I signed up for the full year membership half way through the challenge. Nutrition plan was extremely helpful, carefully planned out, and definitely sustainable. It wasn’t about eating just “healthy” food, but eating in portions, getting enough protein, and choosing what you ate a bit more carefully. I did cut out soda until introduced to Coke zero or other Zero calorie drinks…lol.
Life changing... I know, it sounds exaggerated, or maybe a little cliché but that's what CJJF has been to me. Like many others, the pandemic (for me) resulted in the erosion of self-discipline and an excuse to make some pretty poor choices related to diet and exercise. I gained 30+ pounds over the course of a couple of years and was in the worst shape of my life. I hated looking in the mirror and wasn't happy with the person I'd let myself become. I'd been interested in BJJ for quite some time but never checked it out because I was waiting for that elusive "right time," which never seems to come with work, family, friends, stress, obligations, and all the other reasons we use to justify hanging out in our comfort zone. Thankfully, while scrolling social media I came across a video with Professor Jon for this 42 day challenge and decided to break the cycle I'd fallen into and give it a shot. I'm typing this review on the Friday of my last week, day 40, down 21 lbs and approx. 7% body fat from where I started. With the meal planning/prep and consistent exercise, I've developed sustainable habits that will help me to accomplish the rest of my goals (physically) but most importantly, I've discovered that BJJ itself, was something I've been missing in my life on a much deeper level... the comradery and family atmosphere, the competition, the commitment to learning and developing a skill, and so many other things. Can't say enough about the professors and quality of instruction and the (welcoming/encouraging) atmosphere. What they've built here is truly something special and I'm super grateful to be a small part of it. CJJF in Prosper is amazing! I love the training environment that Professor Jon and other staff and members create here. Jiu Jitsu is so much more than practicing a martial arts, to me it’s the development of the whole person 360 degrees. They have an awesome app for tracking your results and it’s a laid back atmosphere where everyone trains hard! They are very friendly and welcome everyone on the mats. I was first introduced to CJJF by a Facebook post advertising a 42-day challenge. I signed up and met with professor Jon one-on-one. It has been 6 weeks now, and I can say I have enjoyed every minute I spend at CJJF. BJJ is physically and mentally challenging, but in a very rewarding way. CJJF specifically is a place for everyone of all ages. There’s top-notch instruction, and members are awesome and super welcoming. This place can change your life if you don’t mind getting outside your comfort zone.
If you are looking into doing Jiu Jitsu or possibly getting you’re child into it, I 100% recommended that you go to CJJF. It’s an atmosphere like no other. From the professors, to the trainings, to just everyone there you feel like you’re at a second home. They’ve helped me grow and make a complete 180 on not just my knowledge of jiu jitsu and self defense but my mental health as well. I have no doubts that it will have the same effect for you.
The best BJJ Academy!!! I just completed a 6-week challenge and lost more than 20 lbs and 8% of body fat that's my personal best result ever. Professor Jon is great and his coaches are amazing! They truly care about your progress and motivate you to reach your goals. I highly recommend CJJF Academy!
CJJF Academy in Prosper is absolutely amazing. Initially starting off with any new activity or hobby, especially Jiu-Jitsu you may have a sense of nerves that are present when starting that journey. However, Professor Jon and other staff are absolutely amazing and welcoming. From the moment you walk into that door for the first time you immediately feel welcomed and apart of a family. Even other members of the academy are welcoming and are more than willing to help and make sure everyone learns the technique being taught. Everyone’s journey in Jiu-Jitsu is different. Everyone has their own reason why they begin doing it and what they hope to achieve. When I walked into the academy I was at the heaviest I have been. I made drastic changes to my lifestyle in the aspect of nutrition and saw significant results. Throughout the way, Professor Jon and others made sure I worked hard to achieve these goals and I couldn’t be happier about it. If you’re on the fence about joining or coming to give it a shot, I will say that you will not regret it. I’m glad I began my journey here at CJJF and I look forward to continue putting in work!
After years of contemplating starting Jiu Jitsu I decided to visit my nearest gym. After my first conversation with Professor Jon he had me sold on CJJF. He encourages and wants everyone who steps foot into that gym to become part of the family and make Jiu Jitsu a lifestyle. The best aspect of CJJF is the culture we have here. Since day one I’ve never felt like a stranger and no one has ever been shy to help me with my training. Whether you wish to be a hobbyist or a competitor, CJJF will help you grow as a person without a doubt!
I dropped in while in town for work. I met with Jonathon and immediately felt welcomed and was invited to train with his team. Big kids classes, kids thoroughly enjoy the instruction. The adult class was great, very good and detailed instruction by the instructors. As a 1st Degree Black Belt, Instructor and Gym Owner myself I can not speak highly enough of Jonathon and his team. The rolls were great, everyone was nice and welcoming. Definitely a place to train if you are in the area. I plan on stopping through every chance I can.
My daughter is currently enrolled , though we really wanted her to learn the skill but we always that class is too crowded for kids to move around. Forget about very limited seat for parents to sit which I can’t bring it. As my main concern is having enough space for kids. My parter who drops my daughter have attempted to speak about this but they have no clear answer and they just say yes it gets crowded some days or suggest going another location which suggest they are not in thoughts of restricting number of kids in class or offering different batches . There should be some limit for number of kids in a class so that they can effectively learn with some good space to move around . Also when kids shout, I afraid the sudden loud noise from kids is too loud for some younger kids ears . As the room is small for the number of kids , the noise of kids shouting suddenly together definitely contribute to high decibel noise for their ears. I hope they bring some changes considering n offer some better Quality service to young kids.
Stop your instagram ad program. I’m not paying for 6 weeks program before I do it. All of these ads are a scam. At least do an in person session as an intro. Saying over text that this isn’t a good fit because I won’t put up $600 before I commit is crazy. If the owner wants to call me to have this 1 star changed call me. You have my number. Call me, I would like to help you get more leads and piss less people off.
I am extremely disappointed with my experience at CJJF in Prosper, Texas. The owner falsely advertises the quality and values of his business, leading to a complete waste of my time, energy, and money. His behavior is far from professional, and his own words revealed troubling attitudes that raise significant concerns. The owner openly admitted to me that he doesn’t enjoy working with kids and only does it for the money. This is completely unacceptable, especially for someone running a business focused on children. His anger issues are evident, and it’s concerning that his wife seems to cover for his behavior instead of addressing the root problem. He is not a friendly or approachable person, and his demeanor is far from what one would expect in a child-centered environment. This individual should seriously consider seeking therapy, and, in my opinion, he should not be working with kids at all. If there were an option for half a star, that’s what I would give this business. It’s clear this is not a safe or supportive place for children, and I cannot recommend it to anyone.
