This is just an amazing self defense class for women. The instructors were well prepared and knowledgeable. The tips and demonstrations are very useful for me. I will likely attend more advanced classes in order to learn new techniques.

I started Charleston Self Defense three years ago at the age of 48😵I joined with my son who was 14 at the time and being bullied in middle school,and one of my daughters that just really needed some self confidence.we have come to think of this place as an extended part of our family,and have made so much personal growth here!I am now 51 and still train with so much more confidence,and everone that I have brought here with me since have had so many inspirational experiences within themselves doing things they never thought they could.You are never to old to keep fit and learn how to better care for yourself,and the instrucrors here are so good and helpful!I cant say enough about how much my life has been changed by my experiences here and I will forever be greatful for the knowledge and friendships I have gained since I have been here!Thankyou Charlestin Self Defense and keep up the good work!

Great studio, super fun mix of different martial arts, instructors are amazing and also really great teacher, which is rare to find. Felt supported as a beginner and genuinely welcomed into the community. Can’t recommend highly enough!

This place is filled with samurai spirit. People are professionals and make you feel very welcome. They ready to share their knowledge with you from day one. Absolutely great place to train in martial arts.

Amazing school. What makes unique is they go both Judo and jiu Jiutsu as both are equally important. I was there for 2 months and truly enjoyed. I didn't even realise how much better I was in jiu Jiutsu till I went out and applied it. I was always getting submitted in my previous school, but a technique taught here truly changed my view, i was able to submit higher belts in India. Can't wait to come back and join when I am back in the US.

If you are looking for Judo - this is the place to be!!! World champions, caring, and professional. Kids will have a blast and learn so much! Lisa, Rob, & Brad are the only people I would go to for judo training.

Great news gym in the greater Charleston area. Very clean and well kept facility with amazing staff. Everyone from the owners to the coaches are a lot of fun to work with. My kids have a blast attending classes here.

Amazing judo and jujitsu program with an even more amazing staff! We often drive close to 2 hours to have an opportunity to train with Lisa, Rob and Brad and it’s always been well worth the drive! Highly recommend school for judoka or jiu jitsu practitioners of any experience level !

Wow this place is going to be epic! The premier sports location for the Charleston Area! Their Judo program is why I come but there are so many amazing programs and highly credentialed instructors. This is exactly what the community needs and I can't wait to see everything they offer from sports, events, camps and classes in the future! Phenomenal place, go see for yourself!
