Chango is the best place in the Summerville area to train BJJ! Professor Chris and his staff are incredibly talented martial artists, instructors, and people. The students are very welcoming and come from an incredibly diverse population.

I trained Brazilian jiu-jitsu in my hometown in Brazil, South America, when I was just a child. But, as always, life happened, and I couldn’t keep going. I never thought it would be possible to find a gym that feels like family again, especially so far away from my country. But Chango proved to me that this is completely possible. I’ve never met people who are so open-hearted and friendly before. Coach Chris isn’t just building a great jiu-jitsu gym; he’s building a jiu-jitsu community. I couldn’t be happier or better supported.
The all 5 star reviews are 1000% warranted. This place is fantastic. We are so bummed we couldn’t end up putting our son in long term (moving out of the area next month) but we definitely would have. The owner is kind, communicative, and knowledgeable. The instructors made my son feel so comfortable and welcome. He absolutely loved going to the classes and the pricing was definitely beyond fair for what was included. If we ever find ourselves moving back to this area there is no doubt we’d sign back up!!
hands down the best training facility around. From Professor C. Popdan to the kids coaches, by far the nicest and most knowledgeable training staff that I have encountered. I always look forward to walking through those Chango doors knowing the experience will be great every time. Highly recommended.
I’ve been training 14 years and recently transplanted from NY. Professor Chris and the coaches here are extremely dedicated and passionate about their craft, and you can feel it from the moment you walk in. Highly recommend for everyone and anyone. Clean, safe and top notch Coaches!!!
When the coach and assistant coaches take lessons seriously to make sure their students are set up for success, you don't leave the class/institution. The whole crew will treat you like family; neither my daughter (a student - 12 years of age) nor they would not have it any other way.
Always a great time when I get to visit Chango. Greatest BJJ program in Summerville. Kids and adults of all skill levels can learn and grow here. Phenomenal coaches and a great atmosphere to train in. 10/10 would recommend checking them out if you are in the Summerville and surrounding areas.
Excellent school! Started on a free trial back in April with zero prior grappling experience. Clear and concise instruction from a great crew of folks pursuing daily growth. Gym culture & comradery a big plus. Def recommend.

My 12 year old daughter and 11 year old some came in knowing nothing on the free week trial - Two months later, it seems to be what they look forward to the most. Coach Chris is awesome, other attendees, seasoned and new alike help my kids every class.

This place offers more classes then any other places I have been and I’ve been to all the classes. If you are in town stop in and enjoy the family atmosphere and grade A training.
This is one of the best places to train Brazilian jiu jitsu in the tri county area, Chris is an excellent instructor and everyone is very welcoming. I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to train BJJ.

Amazing family environment! The coaches are absolutely amazing. Whether you know it all or it's your first day on the mat you never feel wrong or uncomfortable for being there. I recommend anyone attending a class and becoming part of the chango family. Kids and parents alike!

My kids have been going here for a couple months, Chris is great with the kids. The kids love it, haven't tried it myself, but will once my knee heals up a little.
