From the time we walked in the door, every staff member was polite and very helpful. They are always available for any questions I have without making me feel rushed. The best thing is, all the instructors make my child feel special and they are glad he's there to train with them.

My son absolutely loves CMA! Well our whole family actually loves CMA. We like that they don't just focus on the student, but the family as well. They work hard train hard, but have fun things through out the year to involve all of us! Little sister is now wanting to start her training and we plan to get her rolling very soon. I love how staff is kind, compassionate, but still push the kids in a healthy way to achieve the next step. I wouldn't sign my children up at any other martial arts place. The instructors are so knowledgeable and never hesitate to stop and help someone that may need a little extra help to learning a new move or skill. *UPDATE* Enna continues to attend at CMA. She loves it and goes almost every day because she loves the challenge. And... she is now a decided black belt! Below is a picture of her receiving her decided 1st degree black belt. And, she now has new goals! The program is fantastic, I would recommend to anyone. Our daughter started Tae Kwon Do 2 years ago and has continued to make incredible strides. She works hard, thanks to the instructors lessons and encouragement. Her next belt is a black belt! I would recommend Championship Martial Arts for anyone who wants their kids to learn respect, discipline, and martial arts all while having fun!

We love CMA! Just this week, when my daughter was getting ready for class she announced that one of the reasons she loves martial arts is that nobody there calls her small or weak. She gets to feel strong and confident, and we’ve seen her grow so much. Our whole family has gotten to grow and get stronger here. But that has only happened through the fantastic teachers who have welcomed, challenged, and encouraged us. They are the best!

My son joined CMA late last year after their awesome staff came to a school event. After his first couple of classes he was hooked. His coaches are informative, encouraging and very knowledgeable. Not only has he learned good technique and forms, he has grown in confidence, perseverance and personal accountability. The extra benefit is the friendships he has made. We've been coming to CMA for 4 years now and to be able to look back and see a total transformation in your child is just amazing. We absolutely love CMA Maryville! Our family has been a part of the CMA Maryville family for almost 6 years. We have four children, ages 14, 11, 8 & 4 years old. Now, three of them have earned their black belts. Our oldest 2 have been taking martial arts there for almost 6 years, our daughter has been taking classes for 5½ years & our youngest has been in the Little Dragons classes for over a year now. We love how martial arts is an independent sport, but you also work together as a team, that eventually becomes more like family. We have seen such a confidence boost in our children & they are respectful to others, as well as to themselves. Our oldest three play other sports & martial arts has had a huge positive impact in those sports as well. We love all of the instructors! They are so kind, patient & helpful with the CMA students. They take the time to help the students improve & get to know the all of the students & families. We highly recommend Championship Martial Arts in Maryville!

Where do I even begin? Championship Martial Arts has been absolutely amazing. My children (ages 8 and 5) have grown not only in skill, but focus, confidence, determination, strength and respect. We've been part of Champion Martial Arts for about 18 months now, and it’s been an amazing experience! My daughter, two granddaughters, and I are feeling healthier, more energetic, and overall better—especially me, and I’m no spring chicken! I have arthritis (among other medical issues) and they have helped me feel better physically and emotionally. We can’t imagine training anywhere else. What really sets this place apart is the strong sense of community. They go out of their way to include families with events like cookouts, family martial arts days, and parents' night out. It truly feels like a family here! The instructors genuinely care about every student, encouraging us to push past our limits and showing us that we were capable all along.
Sofía has been studying and practicing martial arts with CMA Maryville for more than a year now. Her confidence, motivation, and persistence have improved tremendously. We see her setting goals and working hard to achieve them at CMA, at school, and at home. She delights in her success and simply beams with pride. For a person who has a hard time in school, this program is a godsend. Sofia looks forward to it, and it gives her a sense of achievement and success that she doesn’t get anywhere else. From top to bottom, a wonderful organization! Involvement with the kids on more than just the school level but in fact right out into their schools and community. The entire staff greets students and parents by name and creates an environment that includes every student.
My son continues to love CMA, being into his sixth year of training. He looks forward to seeing friends that he's made in class, as well as the instructors. Walking into the building, for my son, feels like he's coming home to family. Since he was 9 yrs old and a brand new student, he's felt welcomed and safe here and would like to some day be on staff so he can create that same feeling for others.

Hands down the best of the best! Taekwondo is wonderful for kids to develop to adapt to structured environments, build self confidence, and most importantly in this cruel world we are living in they learn to defend themselves! It can become pricey but the difference in my child that I have seen is well worth the money.
The instructors are really knowledgeable about all levels and truly care about each and every student. My grandson has been taking classes for 5 years. He loves it and that says a lot. He is working towards his 2nd degree black belt. I also love how much they give back to the children of the community for the children.

Lyric absolutely enjoys going to her martial arts training and with the staff, it’s understandable. David Church's Taekwondo America is an amazing martial arts facility in Maryville that is a true gem for youth of all ages / genders in our community. As a parent of a child who was very reluctant to join any extra curricular activity, we were 100% impressed by the way Mr. Church and his instructors interact with the kids and create a welcoming, positive, yet structured environment that focuses on growing students' confidence while learning Taekwondo. The group class environment moves with structure and purpose. There were always enough instructors to work with the kids of various levels to teach the skills required at each level and the instructors knew the names of all the kids - it felt very personal from our first lesson as a matter of fact. We found the quality of the instructors to be so much more than we expected and watched them challenge the kids to work hard but were never harassing or intimidating. Our takeaway from Church's Taekwondo was this is a business that walks the talk and is fully vested in the students. David is an excellent communicator and keeps parents updated of events and is easy to connect with if you have a need or question. If you're looking for a unique, fun and positive activity for your kids - definitely give this place a try.

My son has been attending Little Dragon classes for the last few months. We have seen tremendous improvement in his behavior and performance in and out of the classroom. He takes so much pride in doing Tae Kwon Do and earning new stripes and belts. The instructors are knowledgeable and so patient with the students. I appreciate the efforts the school made to continue instruction with distance zoom learning during quarantine. The instructors have reached out to my son personally to acknowledge his achievements. They really go above and beyond to encourage students and help them grow physically, mentally and emotionally.

My family's journey began about a couple of years ago, when I was just like everyone else looking for that perfect fit in a Martial arts school. You know how it is, when you have to set appointments around your work schedule, and try to satisfy that screaming little one (lol). I was having a really difficult time. Some were polite, and some were a good fit schedule wise, but it didn't feel right. Until one day I had schedule an appointment with another Martial arts school, which my daughter was begging me to leave. As we pulled out of the parking lot, we started discussing again why it was not a good fit. No one opened the door for us, or even acknowledged us until my Wife interrupted the class by making a noise with her chair. As I pulled out of the parking lot, we started to drive back home. When my daughter noticed the sign of Church's Taekwondo America. Daddy can we please stop.... please just one more Dad she said, So I decided to pull in to see if they was accepting new students. As soon as I parked, and started to get out of my car.... people were coming out laughing, smiling, and talking to each other. Even the owner (which I found out later) was holding the door open, greeting and giving high fives to kids, and parents. Telling everyone to enjoy the rest of your day. Within a few seconds of walking in the door... I was greeted professionally by several several students, and even parents. It did not take long, when Mr. Church introduced his self (after closing the door 😆) I explained how frustrated I was, in choosing a Martial arts school and he said, I really am sorry to hear that, Would your daughter like to try out this school, and my daughter would not take no for an answer. Mr. Church's Instructor team, is young Christian group of very close friends and families. Now almost 3 years later, my daughter is a 10 year old 1st Degree Black Belt, and still pushing through strong. Over a year later, I decided to get back into it again myself, and the rest is a true blessing. If you are looking for a Martial arts school, that is not going to make a difference in your child's life, not acknowledge you every class no matter what, will not care if you stayed or not, or even just take your money, with no guarantees then don't choose this school. If you are looking for a Martial arts school, that is caring, helpful, acknowledges you every class, or even outside of the school, lifts you up when you are down, sends you text messages to let you know how you are doing in class, and will always make sure your loved ones and friends are always welcomed with open arms, and most importantly.... gives your child the time of their life, then most definitely choose this school. I will guarantee the name speaks very loud for itself. Thank you Mr. & Mrs. Church, and Church's Taekwondo, and Taekwondo America we are truly blessed to have found our second home. My daughter went from being embarrassed about the uniform to waking up excited to practice her skills after about 2 weeks of class. I love how we can pick which days of the week to go to class and I switch it up sometimes so grandparents can take her. It's been over a month now since we started this program but it feels like we have been here longer. Every instructor knows her name and they utilize child psychology to encourage all the kids. I am impressed with this program. I was expecting great things to begin with but our experience has blown me out of the water. Thanks everyone for doing what you do!
This facility teaches all levels of Taekwondo with a professional family environment. My child loves it has fun and has gained confidence all while learning new skills. They also offer extra fun activities for the kids outside of scheduled class hours.
I have a 10 year old daughter who is attending. She has focusing issues. As soon as she is on the mat she is in total focus. It incredibly to see. She is having issues at home. Since joining she is making great strides in improving. She is a people pleaser. I do think we found a niche that she likes.
First I want to say the staff and quality of the classes are a full 5 stars. My son loves coming here to learn and is usually excited every time. The instructors enjoy teaching, and my son enjoys learning from them. They stay engaged with with the parents almost as much as the students. I have never felt like I couldn't get a straight answer on anything. My only issue is with the pricing structure. There are plenty of payment options, but there is a year commitment. This is made clear, so they are not hiding this in fine print. They do occasionally offer summer programs, so if you can get in there, then it is a great way to try it out. The other issue I have with the pricing is you have to pay for belt tests. This might come from my personal martial arts history, but that doesn't seem right to me. All this being said, we love this place, and will continue coming here for years to come.
The only Taekwondo classes in the Maryville area that offer classes for kids as young as 3. Pros: Everyone (instructors, owners, and admins) are very nice and welcoming. Parking is spacious for class sizes, but they’ll need to relocate if classes keep getting bigger. Quick to respond to emails, willing to meet to discuss parental concerns, and always asks how everything is going at home when a student is absent. The first month is free. Helps shy kids come out of their shell if they respond to discipline well. Cons: Deposit required if making monthly payments - the more money you put upfront, the less your monthly auto-draft will be. In addition, you’ll be required to pay for a uniform and some extra activities should you wish to have your child participate in them. If you want special logo clothes, they’re $25 a piece. There’s a 25% cancellation fee of the remaining balance you owe for the year if you sign your child up. There’s no plexiglass between the student room and parent observation room so the students get distracted easily. There’s not enough opportunity for Little Dragons (preschool age 3-5) to expend their boundless energy. There’s a lot of structure, but its more of an organized chaos. Kids as young as 3 are expected to have a lot of body control and be able to remember sequences of punch/kick commands. Often the kids are waiting in line to do their moves, so they start to act out because they’re bored. Takeaway: Too strict, not enough fun and active play. Difficult for my kid to make friends since it’s a learning environment that requires a lot of listening and little talking opportunities. Very expensive for only a couple 30 minute sessions per week. Just not our jam! I’d recommend for a kid around 5 that really lacks respect, structure, and coordination needed for kindergarten.
The atmosphere has changed since we started attending in February which had made this activity less enjoyable for my daughter. The reason I signed her up here was because how the instructors interacted with their students and let the class end with a short fun game. I don’t think I’ve seen a game at the end of the class in awhile and that was something my daughter looked forward to every class. Even if it only lasted 2 minutes. It just kind of seems like it’s being taken too seriously for the smaller kids in the basic program.
I inquired about starting lessons here. After getting quoted at a ridiculous amount to pay I told Terri I would talk with my spouse and get back to them. I politely reached back out and let them know we were not interested at this time and would contact them back if we decided to change our mind. I asked as well to take us off the contact list on which immediately Terri said already done. After that phone conversation I still kept getting texts over and over asking if we are interested. Yesterday I got another one saying - Hi! This is Terri with Championship Martial Arts. I don't want to pester you. Are you still interested in martial arts training for yourself or a loved one? I proceed and texted again please stop texting my phone I have asked several times to stop contacting my number. That was ignored yet again and I got another text today saying Hi! This is Terri with Championship Martial Arts. Once upon a time you contacted us about our program. Are you still interested in martial arts training? Which I proceed and said are you not getting my texts? I have stated I would contact you all if we changed our mind. I have texted several times to stop. We had had a phone conversation as well where you told me I wouldn’t be contacted anymore. Terri’s response “ We have not received a request to stop. We got a "not at this time" in January. I'll remove you from our contact list. Sorry to bother you” which isn’t true at all. I even sent the screenshots to back what I’ve said. I also got another text from another number from Jorden that stated Good afternoon (my sons name) this is Jordan with championship martial arts. We are currently enrolling new students in our 8 week summer program. Would you be interested in hearing more about the summer program? I told Terri I am not sure why multiple numbers are contacting but have that one stop as well and if we can’t have it stopped my husband has mentioned he will come in to talk with you all. Terri responds back Like I said, your number has now been removed from our contact list. If it doesn't stop please do contact us or have your "husband stop in and talk" so that we can get it resolved. Have a good day. Also to add, No the texts are not automatic texts these numbers are being personally texted from a live person. Needless to say that experience alone has turned us away from this place. *Update, the company has responded below that apparently I just asked to stop today which is a bold face lie. Take accountability. If someone can’t trust you to take them off contact list. How can they trust you to stop charging them or remove their card info when needed. It is weird that you start a text “I don’t want to pester you” why imply that if you didn’t think that you were. So don’t say sorry we made you feel that way when you meant to do it. According to January like you state I said “not at this time” never happened. We never spoke in January, I have inquired with your company once and that was in May which you have not left me alone since. In May we spoke twice on the phone and I got back to you the same day and told you we are not interested at this time and we would contact YOU if we changed our mind that’s not an invitation to keep reaching out. The lack of respect you have.
Do not go here unless you're ready to sign your life away. They don't give you the option of doing month to month. You have to sign up for a year long program even if your kids just want to try it like mine did. And then if your kids end up hating it after a couple months and crying because they don't want to go then you are stuck paying hundreds of dollars a month for something you're not even using. I was told my payments would end exactly after a year and now that the year is up all of a sudden I'm told a different story that I still have to pay another month. Because apparently the office staff doesn't know what they're talking about when you ask them repeatedly when your last payment will be. So now someone else in the office is telling me a different story. It's honestly ridiculous that there's no other option. I'm not going to force my kids to do something they don't like. There's no understanding about that. When I told them my kids weren’t happy and didn’t want to keep going I was pretty much told too bad so sad, you have to keep paying for the rest of the year. They just want to keep taking your money is what it comes down to.
