I am a huge fan of Master Kwon and the taekwondo program he runs. It has been wonderful for my son. He enthusiastically participates twice every week. He is exercising, engaging his mind, and learning values like respect and the importance of practice to achieve something. Champions also has a rewards system built into its program that is very effective for motivating kids. I highly recommend it!

We love this dojang! Our 8yo has been practicing here for two years. The instruction emphasizes concentration, focus, and strength AND fun! We had our son's birthday party here, too, and it was a blast. The instructors are extraordinary, guiding with discipline that's kind. Our 3yo started in February and is full of giggles and hi-yas. I'm so impressed with the age ranges the masters balance here. Both the 8yo and 3yo highly recommend Champions Martial Arts!

This has been the best experience for our daughter. She is learning self defense and discipline, but in a fun and nurturing environment. Master Kwon is an excellent teacher who really is in tune with his students.

We love this studio and we love Master Kwon! The taekwondo curriculum is clear and well-incentivized for kids and Master Kwon is so great at teaching fundamentals of discipline and respect while still creating a space full of laugher and fun.

Master Kwon is the best! My son has been taking taekwondo lessons with him for the last year. He loves it. Master Kwon manages to be fun and silly with the kids while also fostering discipline and doing a great job teaching. The kids really feel comfortable with him and respond very well to him.

My daughter LOVES Master Kwon and TKD. She is more confident and more coordinated since starting over a year and a half ago. She had PT in the past to strengthen her core, but with TKD she improved even more! Highly recommend TKD on 187th Street.

We love going to taekwondo here! Master Kwon is so patient and good with the kids. We’ve noticed such a difference in our son building confidence with learning new skills. He’s also has gotten better at listening. I highly recommend putting your kids in his class!

My girls tend to have a hard time in new settings, but Master Kwon knew just how to make them feel comfortable by being a little silly, a little firm and knowing the exact right amount to push them. They look forward to every class and are so proud of their new white belts!

Master Kwon has an excellent level of patience and his is skillfull in his trade. He teaches all age groups and has a cleam kid friendly environment. He teaches his students discipline, good decision making, and self defense, in that order. I highly recommend Master Kwon if you are looking for extracurricular activities for ypurself or children.

Best experience for my 6 year old so far. I will be enrolling my 3 year old soon as well. Very caring and attentive instructors. Facility is very clean and tidy as well. I'm very grateful for them.

Great addition to the neighborhood! Kids love the program (1.5 years for us so far). Master Kwon is a great instructor, and the classes strike a balance between being fun/encouraging and paying attention to technique. Very grateful to have this wonderful space in the community, and for the kids to be able to work on their physical skills (coordination, flexibility, strength) and confidence.

I am so grateful that this studio has opened here! My son has been learning Taekwondo here since it opened in September, and I have already seen incredible changes in his strength, coordination and flexibility, as well as his focus and self-confidence. All of the instructors are rigorous and challenging, yet always with amazing positivity, support and kindness, and a good sense of humor. My son loves coming to class, and as a parent it is so exciting to watch him, and all the students, blossom and flourish here.
