Great gym to learn bjj, felt welcomed from the day 1, thanks to all the training partners and coaches! Been training there for a while now and I can say it is a great environment to grow as a bjj practitioner. Greatful to have found this gym.

I've been training at Centre Evolution HQ for a couple of months now, and it's been an amazing experience from day one. Everyone has been incredibly welcoming, and the coaches are knowledgeable, approachable, and always willing to take the time to answer questions and help you improve. The gym is very clean and well maintained, and the atmosphere is fantastic. You'll find people of all ages and skill levels training here, so whether you're a complete beginner or have years of experience, young or old, looking to compete or simply wanting to learn and enjoy the art/sport of Jiu-Jitsu, you'll feel right at home. The culture at the gym is what really stands out. I've met so many great people since joining, and the positive environment makes training something I look forward to every week. In fact, my 4-year-old son is now excited to start training in their judo program! I originally joined through a summer promotion, which gave me the perfect opportunity to try it out and see if it was the right fit. A couple of months later, I can confidently say I'll sign up for a yearly membership. Centre Evolution HQ is a great place to train, learn, and be part of an amazing community. Thank you to the entire Centre Evolution HQ team!

I’ve been training at Evolution HQ for almost 3 years, and this gym truly stands out for two big reasons: the exceptional coaching and the incredible cleanliness. The instructors are outstanding. They are knowledgeable, patient, and deeply invested in every student’s progress. They break down techniques with clear, detailed explanations, always showing the “why” behind the moves and adjusting their teaching to your level. Their feedback is thoughtful and consistent, and they create a supportive, ego-free environment that makes you excited to keep improving. What also impresses me every single time is how clean the facility is. The mats are always spotless — sanitized before and after every class — and the entire gym is well-maintained and fresh-smelling. In a sport where you spend so much time on the ground, this level of cleanliness gives you real peace of mind and shows how much the owners and coaches care about their students’ health and experience. The community is welcoming and positive, and the classes are challenging yet fun. Whether you’re a beginner or more advanced, you’ll feel the difference that great coaching and a truly clean training environment make. If you’re looking for a high-quality BJJ gym with excellent instructors and hygiene standards you can trust, Evolution HQ is the place. Highly recommended — come check it out for yourself!

Excellent gym. I've tried 4-5 different boxing and muay thai gyms this year and this one stands out easily. The coaches are professional and up-to-date. The classes are innovative. The gym is clean and is clearly very popular.

I don’t need to add extra explanation but to say I am going to this gym all the way from Ottawa almost everyday even though there are several near me. Jiu Jitsu is not easy but the coaches sure know how to make it look easy so you will keep getting better.

I am a 34-year-old woman I feel completely respected and protected. It's such a fun group of people. My 3 kids attend the kids class as well and they looooove it. Definitely my favorite spot to be. 🥰

I have been training here for about five months, and I cannot recommend more about this gym! It is my favorite martial art gym in Ottawa/Gatineau area. The facility are very clean and well-maintained. You can basically learn all types of martial arts here: Boxing, Muay Thai, Wrestling, Judo, Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ), MMA. You name it. I started their MMA program in spring 2025, in which I am able to attend a variety of interesting classes: boxing, wrestling, MMA, and of course BJJ! Please see my hand-written schedule for the MMA program in the attached photo :-) I have recently switched to BJJ-only program because I have been busy and I would like to focus more on the BJJ. Switching between different programs is very easy, all I have to do is just writing an email about my request. I also love the vibe in the gym, not only because their knowledgeable and skillful coaches, but also because other practitioners (especially their colored belts: black, brown, purple, etc.). They are friendly, willing to share their skills and experience, and very humble. I feel grateful for being able to learn and practice with these humble people.

I trained here for a year in BJJ before living circumstances forced me to relocate to an affiliate. This is a great gym, it has really high level instruction (Professors Dan, King, and Chris are standouts) as well as clean facilities and a ton of mat space. The class sizes are quite large, which was great for a smaller guy like me (5”8, 155lbs) as there were a few guys my size which allowed for competitive, but safe rolls. Not only is there BJJ, but there is judo, freestyle wrestling, MMA, Muay Thai, and Boxing, all taught at a high level. Plus, the membership rates are super reasonable (BJJ costs 60$+tax every 2 weeks, which also includes access to 1 judo class and the wrestling class). The mats are cleaned every day, as are the bathrooms, which is a huge plus in terms of preventing mat funk. All in all, I would recommend this gym to anyone in hull or Gatineau looking for high quality combat sports instruction, and I would still be training there if transportation logistics allowed.
