My child recently started attending the kids' jiu-jitsu class, and the experience has been fantastic! Love this place my daughter Isabella has been coming here for over 1 year now.. she comes 3× per due to other after-school curriculum that she has.. other wise she would be there 5× per week.. But she has learned alot and she loves it. I would highly recommend this place.

Best place to do jiu-jitsu And the coaches are amazing I read the comments about the trauma and what ever and I still went but I just saw a person giving discipline and now my daughters go to tournament and always 1 and 2 place and just a reminder it's self defense not ballet
I’m 17 and Ive trained there for almost a year and it will go down for one of the best decisions i’ve ever made. Great coaches and an awesome atmosphere. I recommend it to everyone of all ages.
I have both my daughters at Carlson Gracie Menifee, one for over a year and the younger one for 4 months. I can’t say enough about this program. Coach Orlando is awesome, he’s patient with the kids and incorporates discipline in his classes, which is what I was looking for. It looked so fun and tough that I decided to join myself a month ago. The adult class is outstanding! It’s intense and knowledgeable. As a new guy it felt great to have everyone help me out with training and techniques coach was teaching; everyone is friendly and professional. I definitely recommend everyone to try it out for themselves. 👍
My son started last year, then my daughter. Coach Orlando has taught them so much, their self confidence has boosted, respect, safety, and self defense. My son was going to start middle school so we wanted him to have at least a little knowledge if he were to be picked on. Coach has gone above and beyond. There are multiple coaches on the mat during practice, everyone of them want to see kids grow and be safe. My kids absolutely love class and hate to miss. We can’t recommend Carlson Grace Menifee enough!
Great academy for kids and adults, just beginning or who are coming with experience from another academy. The coaches are tough, strict, no BS and fair. My boys have parents that are prior Marine Corps Drill Instructors so they’re used to Orlando’s style, high standards and it’s also the reason we kept the boys at this academy. If you’re looking for coddling, lower standards and coaches that are too nice…this isn’t the Academy for you.
My son and I joined roughly a month ago. It has been nothing but a positive addition to our lives. It’s hard as hell, it’s challenging, and addictive. This is a great dojo, family oriented, filled with people sharing their love and knowledge for BJJ. Barring injuries and crazy work schedules, I’ll be here for the foreseeable future!

I personally am thankful for this school and Coach Orlando. My 3 kids and wife train here 5 days a week. I wish i could join them and maybe one day I will (work willing). I appreciate the relationships they have made on and off the mat. Coach is no push over and runs a strong school. His priority is keeping his students safe at all times. I highly recommend this school and all that it has to offer. Thank you Orlando my family loves being on the mats.

I have three children and a husband who attend Carlson Gracie in Menifee. My children are stronger and more confident because of the coaches. I like the teaching style. Coach Orlando is firm in his teaching. Every week Coach focuses on a specific Jiu Jitsu technique and they practice all week. Friday is question day. The kids are able to ask any question. Coach is patient with them and answers their questions throughly. Jiu Jitsu is the kind of sport that you are thrown into and you have to learn as you go. My children have developed valuable skills in Jiu jitsu because of the coaches. They are able to defend themselves. Every child or adult that attends this school will benefit from it. If you are thinking about trying Jiu Jitsu come to this school.
My daughter has been training here for almost a year now. Her confidence has grown so much and I am confident if, need be, she will be able to defend herself. I remember the look on her face on her first day, yes she was scared. Yes she was thrown into a "sink or swim" scenario, however at the end of class she was all smiles. She has learned so much. She has grown so much. This is perhaps one of the best decicions my husband and I have made for her. She is in good hands with the Alonsos and I am honored to be part of CGT family.
If you want a caring, but firm instructor who cares about their students this is definitely the place for you or your kids. 3 of my 4 kids train here. When we started in August all 3 were in the teen class. With in a month, the coach suggested that my youngest (while old enough for the teen class) would be better suited to the kids class. She is smaller than her 12 years and has low confidence. The coach cares about the kids and works to build their confidence even as he is tough on them and expects them to work hard and do their best. When my oldest was refusing to eat correctly and I informed him that was why she kept missing classes, he spoke to her and told her she needed to eat anything her parents told her to eat. Him telling her helped get her to listen and eat and she has been successful at attending classes and having no pain (because she is putting on the weight she needs to work out). I could not ask for a more caring, but firm place for my kids to learn Jiu Jitsu and how to defend themselves. And my child with low confidence, she has confidence and made friends and is sure of herself. I am so very proud of her. And all the working out has helped my son with his ADHD to focus and do better in school. If you want a caring, but firm instructor who cares about their students this is definitely the place for you or your kids.
My son (10 years old) has been training here for a year and a half. At first I was nervous but after his first week trial he was hooked and I knew he was in good hands. He was dealing with bullying at school and Coach Orlando has given him all the tools he needs to defend himself, starting with confidence. My daughter (8 years old) has just started training and really enjoys it as well. There is a great sense of family at CG Menifee and we are so proud to be apart of it!
Intimidating when you first start, my oldest son is usually quiet and more to himself but he caught on real quick. I think throwing them into it is the best thing for these kids, they learn fast on how to protect themselves. We absolutely love this program, the instructor is amazing with the kids. I enjoy the effective discipline that helps for self-defense. After 7 months in class my son decided to compete, I was nervous and didn’t think he was ready but he brought home gold. We were beyond excited and loving to see how happy he is and how helpful this program is. My sons confidence has risen and he looks forward to practice every day. My younger son just decided he wants to join after going to a few practices watching his older brother. Best investment for my children!
My son started here 8 months ago and it has been the best decision we made. Coach has taken his Jiu-Jitsu game to the next level. Honestly it is so much more than that. Coach teaches these kids how to protect themselves in all situations. He treats all these kids the same whether it is their first day or been their for years. He runs a very structured and disciplined class. A month after my son started I put my daughter in. She suffers with mental health and this place has been a game changer. She is growing and has found something she truly loves. Just a few weeks ago coach opened the little kids class and my 6 year old got to start. He is loving class too. I highly recommend this gym and have the up most respect for Coach and his amazing team here.
Honestly the best thing I could have ever done for my kids was to sign them up at Carlson Gracie Menifee. The discipline, self confidence and strength they have gained from their training is worth every penny.
I was a little leary at first. Your kids are thrown into it unsure of what to do, but this is the best way for them to learn quickly and how to defend themselves. Children learn best by doing, not by sitting and watching someone else perform different techniques. Their coach demonstrates techniques, has the kids practice, and then let's them roll together and try to use their new moves in a real roll. I love that the coach treats no one special, they are all equals. There is NO caudling or participation trophies here. Just hard work, dedication, and preserverence which will build confidence in your kids and teach your kids to defend themselves against bullies.
I have been training here for about a month now and i have to say that at first the idea of going to a martial arts school was very intimidating. I have a lot of social anxiety and am uncomfortable around new people, but Carlson Gracie Menifee was easy to join. Every one made me feel at ease and welcome. Carlson Gracie Menifee has been hard work which is helping me lose my unwanted body fat as well as boosting my confidence. i recommend this school to anyone interested in a warm family environment with a fun way to exercise.
Me and my two sons who are ages 6 and 7 have been training at this school for about a month now. I can honestly say both my wife and I are very impressed on how Coach Orlando has been able to teach these little kids basic jiu-jitsu fundamentals and techniques, Anti bulling and self defense. Both my sons enjoy every minute of their mighty pups class and all the kids in the class have come along way since day one. For my self I have always wanted to learn brazilian jiu-jitsu and now I am able to. Coach Orlando has made it very easy to learn and train. The environment is family friendly and ego free. It has been a lot of hard work but very fun at the same time. Me and the kids are hooked and if anyone has a chance go check out the school.
Terrible a ver dado mi dinero por 4 años a este gym que son bien abusadores y rasistas no vale la pena gastar en un gym que el mismo duelo no gana competencias exige mucho y el no es nada . Si quieres tu hijo salga con huesos rotos o fracturas mételo aquí ya que su lema es que si no aguantan, es son débiles y si tú hijo a salido lastimado , repórtalo a la policía en Menifee
If I could give O stars I would. If you want you and your children to be abused physically and verbally then have them join this jujitsu class. Unfortunately I can't file a complaint, in 2022, Within a time span of 1-3 months, 3 teenagers were seriously injured with bone fractures due to constant lack of adequate staff to supervise the children. Menifee police have said that the establishment has to have insurance in case of injury. They also said that all incidents between 2021/2022 can and should be reported. The students never returned or were heard from again. In my case, Coach Orlando, is a person without any respect for paying customers let alone woman and children. Where he shouted at me that he can do whatever he wants with the children he trains. After striking my car and verbally abusing me and my children we moved away to Checkmat Menifee Jujitsu. Where the coach is very respectful and attentive to both students and parents.
If you want to traumatize your children instead of teaching them a little self-defense then this is the place to go. As soon as they get new beginners into the class they just throw them into the wolves and don’t even teach them how to defend themselves. There was lots of kids crying and bleeding and they don’t even know what to do yet and they are expected to grapple defend themselves as soon as they enter the class. The instructors need a better lesson plan than just hurting the kids first before teaching them what to do. Do not go to this place there are way better instructors than this one.
