A great community first and then a martial arts school that teaches and fosters respect. My oldest child has been attending the school for 8 years and the youngest for 4 years now and they have both learned the values and rewards of discipline and respect while learning self defense and practicing skills and making friendships that will last a lifetime. What truly sets the school apart from other martial art's schools around it, is that it is taught by adults who volunteer their time and effort and do not get paid for it. You only pay the gym for the access to to gym premises and that fee goes only to the gym and not to the Cambridge Tang Soo Do, so it is not based in profits but simply on the passion of good hearted people. I urge people to come and see and learn more about it.
CTSD is a traditional martial arts school that caters to students of all levels. The school has a good number of masters, instructors, and many black belts which provide great focused instruction on all aspects of Tang Soo Do. My favorites are basic kicking techniques, but also include combos and sparring, but also have so much to learn in the various weapon techniques.
It is a very special school I have honor to train and study martial art there. With this training I develop many qualities, resolved many conflicts, make friends and grow over those years. Great instructors, comradery and welcoming environment for everyone, including kids, parents and and students with special needs.
This is an excellent school to train in overall fitness with Martial Arts. The school focuses on physical strength and mental agility which can help anyone who is looking to improve their well being. International Master Klacko is an excellent teacher and a mentor. The classes are fun and interesting and teach discipline to children and adults. Classes are held three times a week for adults. They have separate classes for children on Saturdays. The location is central to Boston inside Cambridge Athletic Club near Kendall MIT. Update: After been a student at Cambridge Tang Soo Do for over 10 years, moving to a different states in between, I still get drawn towards this school. The teachings here are fulfilling not just on a physical level but also help you excel mentally. The cameraderie of the senior masters and black belts make you feel like a family. I highly recommend this school to anyone looking for fitness, understanding body mechanics and learning the ancient martial arts.
Signing up my kids (and myself) to study Tang Soo Do here is one of the best things I've ever done. I've seen my children grow into a welcoming community of martial artists, with kids their own age, role models to look up to at the teen level, and pee wees that they can themselves help, and I love watching them develop confidence, discipline, strength, mindfulness, and a sense of service. Cambridge TSD has a far higher ratio of Masters and expert instructors than other martial arts studios, and so we're constantly getting one-on-one tutoring from people who really know and love what they're doing. They also strike just the right balance between pushing the kids to focus and improve, and at the same time understanding that they are kids, and require a different approach sometimes than when training adults. And for me personally, after years of failing to exercise consistently, doing this has dramatically changed my own health and fitness. I love this place.
I practiced at Cambridge Tang Soo Do for around five years and there is not one critique that I can recall. This is literally in my humble opinion the best martial arts school in the Boston area. The two things that I most like about Cambridge Tang Soo Do are: The depth of knowledge of the instructors is impressive! The ratio of senior black belts to junior students allows for excellent personalized instruction. Master Klacko provides for a great and balanced atmosphere that is not only rewarding and challenging but also stimulating. Thus, the school attracts a great group of students of various backgrounds. Unlike most other Martial Arts places that are run like a business Cambridge Tang Soo Do is run like a college. The focus is on teaching the students and allowing them to grow rather than on how much your next belt will cost. Cambridge Tang Soo Do is therefore very economical and does not have hidden costs. A review cannot adequately convey how wonderful training at Cambridge Tang Soo Do is so I would recommend that you just drop by for two FREE classes and judge for yourself.
A place where they punishing students instead of building trust on them. The only care about money. I don't see the place a place where our children learn respect. There are kids that been there for almost a year they look like strangers in that place. Also you have to know people working there and have a relationship with them so your kids can get the benefits out of the "club". And there is more to say......
