While a combat sport attracts a wide variety of personalities, our instructors cultivate an environment where you can get excellent training and vigorous workouts without negativity. This cultivation takes effort on their part, and they do a stand-up job of it. For example, on the rare occasion a new student arrives with a malicious attitude or disrespectful behavior, that’s immediately identified as a “liability” to us all, and our instructors do a great job of removing that element from our community. Rare occasions aside, this place has great mat space for stand-up and ground-rolling work. We welcome new people in a way that allows them to enjoy this…and return!

I joined with absolutely no experience, with the hopes of learning how to protect myself, and to improve my overall health. And I have not been disappointed. Everyone is so knowledgeable, and helpful. The level of encouragement that the caliber group gives is phenomenal! Id recommend this group to anyone

Awesome Jiu Jitsu gym with a large mat space, good gym culture and fantastic instructors! With it being in the same building as PVM it really is a one stop shop for anything you could possibly want for fitness all under one roof. I have been to most other gyms in the area and as far as I have experienced Chris is best instructor in this part of Wisconsin/Illinois!

Awesome gym with a huge mat space. Being connected to PVM makes this a one stop shop for anything fitness and grappling related. On top of that the community is great. If you’re visiting Lake Geneva this is the gym to check out in the area!

My name is Jamie Fredericksen. I am the original owner of Devine Juijitsu Lake Geneva, now Caliber MMA. I’m a US NAVY Veteran and I try to do as much as I possibly can to help our veterans. I suffered from severe PTSD and felt like it had no hope. Then in 2014, I found jiujitsu and it saved my life. It gave me a constructive outlet to deal with my frustrations, and it gave me life long friends that I never would have had if I never started jiujitsu. Seeing how it helped me, I wanted to do more for Veterans. That’s when Nick from Project Veteran Muscle got ahold of me in 2020 about wanting to start a bjj class for veterans. Project Veteran Muscle does so much for veterans, giving them a work out facility at little to no cost, depending on their disability rating. After hearing how they helped veterans by making it financially accessible to them, I wanted to do the same. Obviously, this was a big undertaking to run and that’s when I asked my friend Derek to be involved with it. Derek and I feel the same about our veterans. We would do our best to help every veteran we could. We took on the same payments schedule like Project Veteran Muscle; if you were 100% disabled, you paid nothing. Derek and I wanted to make a place for veterans and that’s always been the mission. When my wife got transferred, Derek took over the gym and continued with the same mission we started it with, help as many vets as we can. The mission has never been, and never will be, about money. It’s about helping and supporting our brothers and sister who gave so much for us.
