The whole staff at Bushido is some of the best people I’ve met. From the coach’s to the front desk they’re all very welcoming and friendly. All the coach’s are very knowledgeable and great teachers. I would recommend Bushido to anyone wanting to learn a martial art.
If you're looking, stop! You've found it. Throughout the years I have trained/assisted/visted many schools in the region, and Bushido is by far the best experience that I've had. A veteran owned buisness led by Jason Brake, Bushido puts a strong emphasis on high-quality instruction, confidence building and making it's students feel welcome and at home! A great atmosphere for families, men women and children alike, and very welcoming of law enforcement/first responders and military personnel. What sets Bushido apart from everywhere else in my opinion, is how much Jason and his staff genuinely care about their students, both on and off the mats. I could not reccomend this school enough!!!!

I have been training here since the first of August after training at another location prior. I have been to a few different academies to train and do seminars as well, and Bushido is by far the best academy I have been to in the east Tennessee region. Bushido gives you a wide variety of times to train compared to most gyms that only offer a few nights a week. If you are an adult practitioner, there are multiple black belt instructors offering a variety of different styles to suit your needs. On top of the black belts, they also have a wide variety of experienced blue, purple, and brown belts with a wealth of information to help any new or inexperienced practitioner. They offer both Gi and No Gi and focus primarily on real world self defense, while also assisting you if you train for competition as well. In fact one of Bushido's students recently won gold in both Gi and no Gi at the good fights Worlds tournament held in Pennsylvania a few weeks ago. The ability to train at any time during the week is a plus when you work swing shifts giving me a wide variety of options when to train. The owner is constantly trying to provide the best training he can and updates the curriculum as needed. on top of teaching Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, they also teach Muay Thai style kickboxing, and are looking to also include Kung Fu in this coming year. The owner also has a history of martial arts dating back to his youth in Karate, and is currently a red and white belt in Karate. I wholeheartedly recommend this academy to anyone looking to get into martial arts. I have nothing but good things to say about the academy and can honestly say everyone, especially the instructors, have been nothing but kind and professional here. If you are looking for a clean, professional, and friendly place to train with a great opportunity for growth in the martial art, then Bushido is the place to be.
All around wonderful! Classes that fit almost everyone’s schedule. I feel like my son is being taught important life lessons along with the art of jiu jitsu. This is a SAFE, CLEAN, accommodating, and welcoming environment for any kid! The owner has a true passion for what he does.

We are a big homeschooling family. We were looking for something to help as a physical education as well as to help teach our kids to manage aggressive behavior. My kiddos love it. I have trained at Campeão United (formerly known as Bushido) for nearly 3 years, and I can’t say enough of how fortunate we are -myself and the students- to being members of this school. You will get fitter, you will be more knowledgeable, you will learn how to defend yourself, and you will become a better person by learning from Jason and his great team of instructors. The kick boxing and Brazilian jiu-jitsu classes are top notch. I highly recommend them!

We had an amazing time at the open mat session. As visitors from out of state, we attended with our friend's son, who trains there regularly, we were warmly welcomed, everyone made us feel right at home. It was fantastic that our kids were able to jump right in and roll with some more advanced students. The atmosphere was incredibly welcoming, and practitioners of all levels trained together with respect and camaraderie. The instructors were friendly and offered valuable guidance. We highly recommend Jason and the Bushido Academy to anyone interested in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Can't wait to go back on our next visit!

Great gym! I was visiting town and looking for a place to get in a workout. My schedule didn’t align with an adult class but Jason was super warm and welcoming, and the facility is nice and open and clean. There was a kids’ class happening while I was working out, the instructors seemed really wonderful with the kiddos and everyone was having a lot of fun. Will definitely be hitting up a class when I come visit again. Thank you Jason!
Dropped in for an open mat while I was in town for Thanksgiving. Jason was very welcoming, along with everyone else on the mat. I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in town.

Bushido Academy is an amazing martial arts gym. My daughter and I have been going there for nearly six months. My daughter is four and loves being a part of the tiny warriors and she looks forward to every class she gets to go to. She has grown so much in that short amount of time and I’m so proud of how dedicated she is to it. She enjoys it so much that I started classes as well so it has become a great family activity. I enjoy the jiu jitsu and Muay Thai classes. The instructors are great and truly care about their students learning. I would recommend this gym to anyone looking to learn a martial art or self defense.
We found this gym a little over a year ago. My Husband, and son were very interested in taking Jiu jitsu. My husband checked out a few places, and came across Bushido Academy. Out of all the places he looked at and researched; Bushido stood out. Here we are, a little over a year later, and it was the best decision ever! We may drive over 30 minutes to get here, but we do! Why, because this place is family oriented. Top notch teachers! Great values, and so much more. We are truly blessed to have found Bushido Academy! I’ve been attending Bushido for their fit/kick (fitness and kickboxing) classes for a couple of years. It’s a great workout that will improve your fitness level in days. But it’s the staff and the camaraderie that keep me going back. Get fit AND have fun…you can’t beat that combination!!

I have never found a place that is more like family than Bushido! From the very first day I signed up to try something out of my comfort zone to going on 3.5 years later, I have felt at home. I would never want to go anywhere else! After the first month of doing kickboxing for myself, I realized I would like to sign my children up as well. They have absolutely LOVED it! They have learned self discipline while making friends and learning much needed self defense. It is so empowering knowing that I won't need to worry about my kids (especially my daughter) when trouble may present itself. All instructors have been amazing and are very knowledgeable. I would recommend this place to anyone!!
I've been training jiujitsu for about 6 years now at various different schools. I've never felt so welcomed and so at home than I have being with my training partners at Bushido! If you are on the fence about coming and trying out a class, wait no longer. The best time to start training was 10 years ago, the next best time is now.
My kids started jiu-jitsu at Bushido in the homeschool class nearly two years ago. They have both gained confidence and a life-long sport. The community we've become a part of and the friends we've met through Bushido are a huge value as well!

There is a great sense of community at bushido academy. Everyone genuinely cares about each other's advancement and it's a lot of fun. When I was there, some of the higher ranked people mentored me and everyone was encouraging. I haven't found another bjj gym as good as this one.

Very homely gym situated right outside of downtown. Owner is courteous and let me drop in for a couple days to train. Great mat space, facilities well kept, and in my brief time there everyone was friendly and helpful.

Jason and Alexis are both so fantastic! My little girl has been going since March and she loves it. She talks so much about her “ninja Alexis” and “ninja Jason”. My daughter who has been in Taekwondo for five years was diagnosed this year with Hashimotos Disease with Alopecia which was affecting her memory to where forms were not something she couldn’t do anymore under pressure. Her brain wasn’t functioning the way it had before she was beyond unhappy and needed a change. She was already taking mma at bushido academy as a way for her to focus on boxing something she had interest in as well, so she came to her dad and I and decided that she would test to finish up her tkd with her. 2nd degree black belt and then convert over to Bushido full time and retire from tkd due to her health. It has been an amazing experience for me as her mother to see her not be under so much pressure to remember a strict form. She is now enjoying herself and acting like a 10 year old should instead of being worried if she forgets something or did something wrong. There is no way I can thank the staff at this school for stepping up and becoming positive role models for her and reassuringly letting her know that it takes time to get where she wants to be and she isn’t going to get it in one day that greatness comes in time, even with all the practice in the world it’s okay to still mess up. Thank you again and if you haven’t given this school a try please do you won’t be disappointed

This is truly my honest review. I been training for the past few months in BJJ with Ward and Brake, also a few special guests that are huge in the game. I am extremely pleased with choosing this gym. I've lost nearly 20 lbs so far and learned a ton of techniques. Not only do they have some of the best instructors, the equipment is top notch too. Probably the biggest thing I have noticed is that I have made a lot of friends from training and I have always had a good time when coming to the gym. Ive played tons of different types of sports growing up but this is just different with humbling experiences and a ton of self reward for life. I'm a up and straight person... My kid attend this class and since we have joining I have seen many results such as good behavior and attitude as changed at school and home from both off my children by attending these classes . My son can stay Focus a little better in the class room !! Am very please with the results in just a few months and will continue to kept attending classes.

My son has been training in martial arts for 7 years. Jason invited us to come train at his gym, and my son fell in love with kickboxing. Kyle’s played baseball, basketball and soccer but has always wanted to do karate. I finally found this place for him to try it out and he loves it !!! This is a wonderful school for not only adults, but children as well. My son and nephew both attend. Jason has patience for the kids and wants to help them be successful teens and adults. There is a lot of care and compassion from Jason and Melissa. Of the several schools my son has attended, this is where we call home.

I highly recommend this gym. My 8 year old takes the karate/mma class. The staff is great and so encouraging. Not only is she learning self defense, the gym is also helping teach my daughter self discipline, respect, focus, and responsibility!
