We started coming here last year with my 6 year old son and now my four year old daughter. I cannot say enough about this place. It is family-run, with a Christian atmosphere of love for the community. They do their best to keep it affordable, while also providing opportunities for the children to help others in the community (such as veterans and the elderly). The best part is how much I can already see this program supporting our efforts at home to teach our children good character, discipline, and self-confidence in mere months.
Great experience! I am happy to have my son apart of this establishment. Everyone is super friendly and it’s a very nice place.
I went for the first time to see my grandson in action. It was a great atmosphere for the kids. They had a fun time learning the fundamentals, had water/potty breaks as needed and the adults watched the kids on a screen so we weren't distracting to the class or teacher. They were so excited to be there and it was a great time for all!
As an Adult student, Budokan Newton is the best place to learn not only the fundamentals of the art of Heishin-Ryu Sogo Bujutsu Renmei, but the actual theology of the Art itself and the bonds that are made as a family within the Dojo, and the community as well. Respect, Dedication, and the ability to foster a sense of caring by all the Instructors, students, and the friendships that are made by all.
Our daughter has been coming here for seven years. My father is also in the adult class. This is by far the best environment when looking for a place to train and serve the community! If our family could give a 10 star rating we would. Sensei Booker is very invested in the growth and wellbeing of his students and their families.
Had a board breaking class today The kids were amazing
Wonderful place to learn karate. Sensei Booker is the best!
My daughter has been going to the studio for 3 years we love sensei and his patience and understanding when teaching children of all ages and adults. It is affordable and I wouldn't have my daughter practice martial arts anywhere else
Amazing place to begin your martial arts journey! Sensei Booker is patient and skilled at teaching the techniques in a manner that is both comprehensive and effective.
Love Sensei Booker!!! Daughter was in his class when she was 9 or so. We adored this dojo!!!
My pre-teen daughter has been taking classes for six months now and i feel that I have given enough time to write a review. Her Sensei (instructor) is very skilled in the art of teaching kids. He is very patient and does a great job of keeping the kids engaged, interested and motivated. The cost of the class is very reasonable, the facility is very nice, and the atmosphere is very positive. This isn't some macho ninja baloney; it is educational. Her whole experience has been very rewarding and I highly recommend Budokan Newton to anyone. I see a notable change in her patience and self-control and I accredit it to this class.
I am a relatively new adult student at Budokan Dojo in Newton, North Carolina. I found this dojo through the web, so I thought it would be important to give my review on the web, as well. After searching the web, and reviewing all the dojos' websites that were around my area, I made a decision to personally visit this dojo. What really caught my attention about this dojo, over all the other ones out there, is the variety of martial arts that they train. They train in hand-to-hand combat, grappling, and weapons training; this was exactly what I was looking for -- a well rounded Mixed Martial Arts training. The instructors are very knowledgeable and patient. After almost every class, the Sensei has offered to stay late and provide extra training for anyone that wished. I can also vouch from first hand knowledge that the kids programs are great as well. The Sensei always keeps it fun and full of energy for the kids, and finishes the kid's training with a game that they all seem to love. When I first visited the dojo, I received a free uniform (Gi) and also a free month of training. If you have, even the slightest curiosity about what this dojo can offer you and/or your kids, I highly recommend you come and visit. The best times to visit are between 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. on Saturdays. Before I close this statement, I want to add a few more thoughts that might help define a few reasons why you might consider training with us: - Learn effective self defense - Make new friends - Increase self discipline - Get back in shape - Gain a sense of self confidence - Build a foundation of leadership - Earn that black belt you always wanted - Give your kids a head start on earning their black belt - Be apart of something
