This place is awesome. My son is 5 and is excited every week to go to Budo. I’m so happy to watch him learn discipline and confidence. The crew is amazing and extremely welcoming. I’m so excited to watch my son grow through the program.
My son loves it here. He has recently started taking it more seriously (he’s 6…and very silly) and he’s seeing the hard work pay off as he gets closer and closer to his goals. We have tried him in a variety of sports and activities and we were having difficulty finding his niche. BUDO was recommended to me by a friend and we tried it and it clicked. The coaches are excellent with my son and I’m watching him grow in many ways week by week. It’s exciting and most importantly, he loves it!
I love that my son gets to have something that's just for him . With having a new baby in the family, I didn't quite know how to help him and what he was feeling. But now I feel like he is less aggressive and more happy and himself. Having him at Budo has been one of the best decisions we've made as parents. I also think that he's really understanding the concept of respect in all aspects of his life. I'm really starting to see my little baby turn into an amazing kid.
I enrolled both my 7-year-old son and 6-year-old daughter a few months ago and it’s the best decision we ever made. My son was very shy/quiet and as a neurodivergent kiddo, he really struggles with sitting still, inattentiveness, and sensory processing. When he first started at Budo, he struggled with the ninja kneel due to sensory issues with his feet. We stuck it out and in a few short months he’s such a different boy— even ninja kneeling at home! He is way more confident, engages more with peers, focuses better, and even helps out around the house without being asked. My daughter absolutely loved it from day one, and she is super excited to advance with her brother and her peers. Thank you Coach Josh, Coach Seth, and Mr. Brandon for all that you do!
My daughter loves Budo! The coaches are so fun and great with the kids. She gets so excited for Budo night
I love the values this is teaching my daughter. She was invited to a birthday party in September and I was quick to sign her up for the free trial class and I’m so glad I did. We love it here
The lessons so well taught at the kids’ level by Coaches Seth, Josh, and Brandon are invaluable to my child’s development as a person. I’m already seeing my son live out some of the teachings as weeks progress. The physical training of the classes—teaching balance, strength, and coordination—in introducing my son to the concepts of martial arts and self defense is such an amazing bonus. My son enjoys a well-rounded course of holistic self-improvement at Budo. I’d recommend these coaches as teachers and role models to any parent.
Budo is the best thing that ever happened to my daughter. She loves the coaches and can’t live without it.
We love Budo! Its a great place with a great sense of community. We have made great friends. My son's confidence has improved and he is getting stronger mentally and physically.
Very good martial arts school. The coaches are very friendly, careful and kind. Recommended 10/10.
My kid loves here, he started about a year ago and all the coaches are awesome!
I’ve never seen a dojo with better focus on the health and wellbeing of children. They are all around pretty fantastic!
This has been a wonderful program for our six-year-old! Not only because of the developmental program of discipline, focus, respect, integrity and confidence but also for the actual martial arts skills. A lot of fun is also had here and they also provided a wonderful venue to have his birthday party. The guests thoroughly enjoyed it. The facilities are impeccable and I highly recommend Budo. Special shout out to his coaches, Coach Seth, and Coach Josh, and their assistant coach, Brandon. They are very patient with the kids and great examples.
So proud of our little man who has grown so much this year on the inside and out! He has been going to MMA not long before his little brother was born and has just made major improvements in being responsible, listening and following directions that it’s prepared him to be confident and ready for whatever task is ahead of him. This past Friday he was awarded his new belt after participating in a belt challenge and we could not be prouder 🥰😩🙏🏽🙌🏾!!! Thankful to Budo Fam Voorhees for helping mold and shape our Kameron as he grows and evolves into a young man !!!
I gotta say, my daughter joining budo right before her freshman year in HS was a game-changer. She was dealing with some serious bullying that really knocked her confidence down. But man, seeing her blossom and stand up for herself after a while was just amazing. Budo helped her find her stride, make new friends, and start making smarter choices. Plus, her other sports? Totally took off with all that discipline and growth she learned. Big shoutout to her coaches for making such a huge difference, not just for her, but for us too. It's like we can breathe easier knowing she's out there, more responsible and confident than ever. Seriously, thank you Budo for everything!
We absolutely love Budo! The coaches are all so amazing with kids and communication to parents. We have been going here for a few months and my son is always so exited to go. They have fun and learn skills and morals along the way. We just had a birthday party there and all of the kids had so much fun! He is still talking about how he cut his cake with a sword! 🎂 🗡️ Big shout out to Coaches Seth, Josh and Brandon! Now my 3 year old is counting down to his birthday so he can start too!
My 5 year old has built a lot of confidence since he started Budo. A couple of moms from his school have shared how he stood up for kids being pushed around and how he spoke up when other kids were not being treated right. Budo is helping put into simple words Leadership and Respect behaviors that he should embody at his age. He always looks forward to the fun je will have at Budo on Saturday morning. For Show and tell at school, he took his Budo boxing gloves!!! I look forward to continuing to witness his growth with this program!
My 4 year old son has been going here for a month now and he LOVES it. I’ve tried other activities and this is the one that he asks to go to everyday. The coaches are so amazing with him. They are able to teach and discipline the kids while also making it fun.
My son started budo about 7 months back and he absolutely loves it. I am seeing him starting to be more confident in an unfamiliar setup. He always looks forward to his next Budo class. We also celibrated his 6th birthday at Budo which was an instant hit with all his friends. Thanks to the coaches who know the kids on a one on one basis and keep a close eye on their progress.
I signed my son up for BUDO because he wanted to try karate. He loved it right away. Unlike other local karate schools, which focus on drills, the coaches at BUDO focus on fun! (Ssssshhh, that's what the kids think, but really they are learning discipline, integrity and physical awareness.) The lessons are just right for the age groups. The coaches are so playful and funny but get real with the kids and have high expectations for them. Even my distracted, impulsive kid responds well to it. I keep saying I'm going to sign myself up for it too! It's really been a great experience for us. I'm so proud of my son.
My son started at Budo at the age of 4. He is now 6. The progress he has made at Budo is amazing. Coaches Josh and Seth are very patient, caring and great with their students. They not only teach the physical art of martial arts but they also instill the concept of respect, discipline and confidence building in their lessons. From a boy that was initially reluctant to attend class to someone whom now looks forward to be in every class, the transformation is astounding. Our experience here has been nothing but positive and we are glad to be a part of the Budo family.
The class and the coaches at Budo are exceptional. We are very pleased to see the excitement in our kid whenever he is at Budo. The coaches have the super power not only develop the skills of these kids but make it fun for them as well. In a nutshell we are happy to be a part of this Amazing Budo Family!!!
My boys needed to find some karate for very different needs. One for anger management and personal development and the other for core muscle strength and physical development. Budo has been amazing for BOTH of them! I love how the coaches get to know each kid and they listen and ask me if there’s things to work on and what they need. They’ve got no problem pulling my son aside and having a chat with him about controlling his temper and helping to make him a better person. The overall focus on developing kids in a positive way through martial arts is what thrills me about their classes. I’ve been beyond grateful to get my boys started here and being happy even during a really hard time for them. Thank you so much Budo!! 💙💙 Editing to add that now my boys Jeremy and Brayden White have been with Budo for over 2 years now and have done so well. They love class and it has helped each in his own way grow and develop into a better and stronger person. We're now adding their twin brother and sister as well to classes!
My grandsons are approaching their one year anniversary with Budo. My husband and I have seen so much personal growth in that time. They are stronger physically and emotionally. They have better focus. Throughout this year, we have had challenges raising our grandsons. I am so very grateful to the coaches at Budo who are a consistent source of support to us and the children. Coaches Seth and Josh are dedicated to instilling wholesome values like respect, hard work and discipline. We are so thankful for Budo.
My favorite thing about budo is that it helps you learn to stop bullies from hurting you. I also like that you get stronger. ~Parker 8yo The culture the coaches have built & the positivity/motivation they give the kids is such a great thing to be a part of! My 2 boys always look forward to class and we are so glad to have found these inspirational role models for them to grow up with. ~Mom
My son is absolutely thriving since joining Budo. He has gained confidence and coordination and, most importantly, building relationships. The coaches are kind but tough and hold the athletes accountable. I can’t give Budo a high enough recommendation.
I would highly recommend Budo Voorhees to anyone looking into martial arts for their kids. My son just finished his first month at Budo Voorhees. Coaches Josh and Seth have been absolutely amazing with my son and from what I’ve witnessed..they are amazing with all of the kids. One of the reasons we signed our son up for Budo was for the discipline and to help with his occasional impulsive behavior and lack of focus in class. Last week at our parent teacher conference, our sons teacher said over the last month she has seen a drastic change in his classroom behavior. He has been more focused and has made far less bad choices. We’ve seen a difference at home and now we know it is helping in class as well!
Our kid loves it! He wanted to do martial arts and we were advised that it was very beneficial for kids with ADHD, so we decided to give it a try. It has been a great decision! He works out, makes friends, puts structure to his fun time, learns discipline and commitment. I personally love how the all the teaching is oriented to personal development, values and respect. It is not only fun, punches and kicks, but a very enriching experience for all the little ones there. Coaches Seth and Josh do an excellent job!
We’ve found martial arts with dynamic and enthusiastic coaches Josh and Seth, a supportive community, and training tailored to age and skill level at Budo. My son has enjoyed his time here; he’s been challenged and he’s accomplished new ranks, learning about hard work and dedication. It’s been really wonderful to see him grow and thrive through his training. He also had his recent birthday party at Budo! The kids had a great time doing an obstacle course, playing games, and practicing a few skills. Coach Seth and his team were experts in the logistics of managing the party. They handled everything from ordering pizza to cake cutting - they made hosting a party at Budo very easy and enjoyable. They were so great with the group of 4-8 year olds, making them laugh and guiding them through the different games and activities. Highly recommend!
We love Budo very much our son has been going since October and he loves it. He’s beginning to do stuff on his own with out asking around the house like straightening up the shoes by the front door. And he’s learning how to focus more. Excited to see his continued growth. Coach Josh & Coach Seth is amazing. If you’re looking for a karate class for your kids or yourself this is a great place.
My 9 year old son has shown so much confidence since he started with Budo a couple months ago. The coaches Seth and Josh are the best. They really know how to communicate well with each student and teach them to strive to be the best they can. Highly recommend!!
Budo is more than learning martial arts. It is truly a community lead by an amazing team of coaches, coach Seth and Josh. Truly, these coaches are the most incredible role models and mentors. My son has learned so much in his three years at Budo. He has learned discipline, responsibility, respect, focus and how to protect himself. In a world filled with uncertainty, I feel confident that my son will have the skills to handle any situation. I am grateful that my son is a part of this dojo, because unlike others he is taught actual skills that he can use. I am forever grateful we found Budo (thanks to our amazing friend) as I truly can not picture my son training anywhere else.
My boys joined Budo Voorhees Martial Arts during the pandemic, and it was one of the best decisions we’ve made! The coaches, Seth and Josh, took the time to get to know the boys and the concerns and goals we had. Seth and Josh are magicians with the kids; they make the classes fun and are simultaneously highly effective with their messages of discipline, focus, and perseverance. The work-hard, play-hard environment has all the kids smiling from ear to ear. As a parent, it is gratifying to see my sons happy while knowing how this impacts their lives mentally and physically. The boys are thriving in school socially and academically, and we credit Budo for a big part of that success. We are proud members of the Budo family and will continue to be for many years. They also throw awesome Birthday Parties! Thank you, Seth and Josh, for all that you do!
Budo has been the best experience for my step-son and each week continues to be. The coaches are amazing and do wonders with the kids. They teach confidence, determination, patience, integrity, resilience, and not only physical strength but mental strength. My kid has grown more than I could have ever imagined these past couple of years. Joining here has been more than just classes, it’s a family!!! Outside the classes they often have fun events to participate in with the whole family. I highly recommend coming here and not only to those interested in martial arts but for any kid in need of an extracurricular to get involved in. It is so much more than martial arts. And the absolute best part is it’s not just for the kids but they have adult classes too!!! Joining the budo family will hands down be the best decision you ever make. They always have deals and specials running so why not try it. Makes a wonderful gift for the holidays or any occasion too! Oh and one more thing you can’t go wrong with the birthday parties they host. Where else can your kid cut their cake with a ninja sword. So fun!!
I started my oldest son based on a recommendation from a friend because he had been dealing with non stop issues with other kids picking on him. I wanted my son to have the confidence to own who he is and be confident with that despite the ridicule. Worse case scenario i wanted him to have tools to defend himself. In the process my younger two became obsessed with joining their big brother! I have sat through many classes in my short time here and i am 100% confident my kids are in good hands! Josh and Seth treat each child individually despite being in a group setting! I’ve seen them talk to children with such compassion and I’ve also seen them be firm with children! Everything that kids need can definitely be found at Budo!
We originally joined Budo to help our son with discipline and confidence. He started at age 5 and here we are 3 years later. Mission accomplished, and we will continue to help him build these characteristics along with many more (respect, self defense, leadership - too many to mention) with the support and guidance of the Budo team. Coaches and everyone are amazing. Do your family a favor, give it a try!
My son has been going to Budo for about a little over a year now. It is an amazing experience! Coach Josh and Coach Seth are simply awesome with the kids. My son has gained so much independence, discipline, and focus since starting! I highly recommend Budo to anyone that will listen!
The best decision I ever made was to start my son at Budo Voorhees Martial Arts last year. It has been an amazing experience watching my son learn and grow under the direction of Josh and Seth. They are patient, kind, and understanding. They have taught my son self-discipline, self-respect, and self defense. He went from being shy to confident, and self-assured. Budo is a great family to be a part of.
We have been so happy with our experience at Budo so far. The coaches always find a way to keep the class fun, while also instilling focus, discipline and respect into each session. The coaches take time with each child when needed, ensuring they understand what they are doing and why they are doing it. They touch base with the parents to ensure both the parents and child are getting what they need out of the classes. They are communicative, helpful, kind and experienced. My son also has so, so much fun at each class. It has helped with with his core strength and body awareness as well. We look forward to the remainder of the year!
We have nothing but high praise, respect and gratitude to the coaches at Budo Mixed Martial Arts in Voorhees. Our two grandsons, ages 6 and 8 years, have been going twice a week since January 2022. They both have issues that we hoped would be addressed with this program. Our desires have been exceeded. Our boys have shown great improvement in focus, strength, and coordination. Just as meaningful, they have been practicing concepts like teamwork and respect. If you are looking for a healthy approach to having a well rounded child, try Budo. We doubt you will be disappointed.
Coach Seth, Coach Josh, and Coach Cai are fantastic. They do a great job teaching the kids that they are responsible for their bodies, actions, and decisions. As a teacher and daddy, I feel that my beliefs of child development align with the beliefs of the 3 coaches. They are great at holding the children accountable and teaching them how to be independent thinkers. Our girls love their Budo nights, and we love sending them to see the 3 wonderful coaches!
Update: my son is 12 now! He still attends Budo and is working towards his black belt. If It weren't for the orients, kindness, and knowledge of the coaches, we would have quit long ago. Every time he needs help, the coaches are willing to listen and implement strategies to continue to help him succeed! Budo is truly part of our family, and the coaches at Budo have been consistent role models for my son for 7 years now, and I couldn't imagine raising my boy without them! Thanks team Budo! Update: my son is 7 now. He has had some behavioral issues lately, and I thought about pulling him out of Budo. I talked to Aka, the owner, and he talked me out of it. He was right. The coaches worked with him, and taught him how to use his personality to lead others in a positive way. They have not only taught my son to be a better person, but they've taught me to be a better parent. I've learned to be much more patient with my son, to let him learn at his own rate, and to appreciate the person he is. Thanks Budo! My 5 year old son is not athletic. His motor skills are behind, and his confidence lacks because of it. He tried another martial arts program and he didn't enjoy it at all. I knew if I found the right program for him, it would help him grow. We tried Budo and I'm so glad! The coaches at Budo spend the extra time with him to keep him focused and trying his best. He looks forward to going and feels good about himself. We drive 30 minutes and pass at least 6 other martial arts schools on the way. It's worth the extra time. I look forward to watching his future successes with Budo. If you haven't tried it yet, do it now! You won't be disappointed!
It’s hard to find an activity that can occupy your child for more than a few hours. It can also be challenging to find an activity that will teach your child discipline, respect for others and self-awareness while keeping them active. My son started going to Budo in the spring of 2021 and he immediately fell in love with the coaches and the routine. The coaches at Budo don’t just teach MMA, they also teach life lessons. My son has always been wonderful and smart, but he now discovering how to help others without being asked. Budo doesn’t just teach MMA, Budo teaches mindfulness and self-discipline. And my son has an absolutely wonderful time doing it.
When I first started looking for something for my son to do I came across Budo, what helped me with my decision was there home page. There was plenty of information and exactly what I was looking for. I texted with one of the coaches and she was really nice and helped me with any questions I had. When it came time for my sons first class he was shy and wanted no parts doing it alone. The coaches really helped get him out of his shell and participating. The way they treat students and parents are if they have known each other for years. They really make you feel welcomed, exactly like a family. My son absolutely loves going to Budo and it has helped so much with some of his personal issues. Watching how the coaches handle the students even the younger ones is amazing, and you know your child is in good hands with them. I’m so grateful I came across Budo because it has really helped not only my son but me as a parent.
My 10 year old twins have been taking classes at Budo for close to 4 years now, and we couldn’t imagine life without it! They have learned and grown so much in the time they’ve been attending classes there. I’ve been so happy with the progress they’ve made that, a few weeks ago, I decided to take that step and start attending the adult classes. Hands down, the best decision I’ve ever made for both my boys and myself. You won’t find a better team of coaches and mentors anywhere else, and the second family you gain just by being there is irreplaceable. I am so glad that we made the decision to join this martial arts school. We love Budo! ❤️🖤
My son has been attending classes at Budo in Voorhees for a couple of months now, and it’s been a fantastic experience! He is excited about going to class, and he is proud of what he is learning. As a parent, it’s been especially gratifying to watch him in class because even though he has special needs, he isn’t treated differently. He is included in the drills the other students are doing, and the coaches have the same expectations for him as they do for the other students. Each of the coaches has been great working with my son individually as well, and the other students in class work really well with him also. It’s a very friendly and welcoming environment. It’s been an extremely positive experience!
I am very impressed with both the program and the coaches. The coaches ensure that the kids stay engaged as they teach them martial arts techniques while also reinforcing ideals such as respect and self-discipline in a caring and professional manner. They have excellent communication regarding upcoming events, schedule adjustments for the holidays and welcoming new members. My daughter loves going here!!
We have a 5 year old son on the spectrum and weren’t sure how he would do at Budo. We were told (by the coaches) that this is what he needed. At first, we were hesitant because our son had a hard time listening/paying attention for longer periods of time. He has been taking classes for about 5 months and the change in his behavior is like night and day. The coaches do a fantastic job in implementing discipline, structure and care for all kids. If you have a child similar to ours, we would highly recommend implementing Budo into their weekly routine. You won’t be disappointed.
My daughter just started taking classes at Budo two weeks ago. The coaches are extremely knowledgeable and listen to any questions or concerns you may have in regards to your child’s progress. They teach more than just MMA. They are teaching all athletes how to be better people. My daughter has so much fun and is always asking me when is the next time we’re going!
My son started Budo because, like any 5-year-old, he wanted to be a ninja when he grows up. While that dream is becoming more attainable with the skills he is developing at Budo, the real value of Budo comes from everything else he learns there as well. In order to earn their first belt, students must complete 10 respectful deeds. To advance in belt rank, they must also submit a parent and school teacher completed evaluation of their behavior. The coaches instill values of kindness, respect, focus, and teamwork that will take most children farther in life than the “ninja skills”. UPDATE: We have been at Budo for almost two years now and my son and I are still both very enthusiastic about it. They did an amazing job transitioning to online instruction and have been so supportive of us throughout this entire year. My son is thrilled to be back in the dojo in smaller classes with lots of safety measures in place. He is continuing to learn and grow as a ninja and a person.
There aren't enough words to describe how absolutely thrilled I am with Budo and all the Coaches. The impact they have had on my son is amazing. Watching how all the coaches interact with their students is just wonderful. They combine discipline and focus with fun and silliness that really speaks to the kids. It's a privilege to watch this week after week. If you're thinking of enrolling your child anywhere, Budo is where you need to be. During this pandemic, the coaches have gone above and beyond any expectations I had. They offered virtual classes almost immediately, weekly calls to speak to my son, and messaged/texted me to see how this mom was handling everything. The safety measures they have in place have really put me at ease. I have no reservations about in person classes. They have truly become part of my family. I look forward to many more years with Budo.
This place felt right the first time my 5 year old and I walked in for an orientation. The coaches are SO invested in the kids, and they really reach them in a special way. Budo is a perfect place for kids to work on fitness, focus, and character growth. The organization runs really smoothly with a lot of communication, and it feels safe and clean during the pandemic.
I cannot say enough great things about this place. My daughter has been going since August, and I already see the positive changes. I have NEVER seen her more attentive, calm, and focused as she is at Budo. Her coaches Josh & Seth are amazing with the kids. They teach them self discipline, respect, and to always work hard. My daughter is still a work in progress, but I have no doubt with these coaches, she's aiming for the stars! Highly recommend!
My son has really come out of his shell since coming here! He started Budo at 3.5 and he has been consistently going every month. The weeks he may miss due to vacations the coaches reach out right away to make sure everything is ok. They do lots of wonderful fundraisers for the Budo Family they do lots of little events for the kids. My son is very respectful and disciplined and I know it's from Coach Josh and Coach Seth, as soon as I say "I'm telling Coach Josh and Coach Seth" whatever behavior he is going through stops. If you are having an issue with school, focusing or anything you let the coaches know and they address it in class. They are a great reinforcement for at home rules and behavior. I can't imagine is not being a part of Budo!
All of the coaches are amazing, and they really get through to these kids. We have one in Lil Ninjas right now, even after only a couple of months we had already seen positive changes in his attitude and behavior that have continued until now, about 9 months later. He looks forward to Budo with his coaches every week! I can't say enough about the programs and the coaches! They work magic with these kids, and really care. We are proud to be part of the Budo family!
My 5 year old has been in the little ninjas program at Budo since May 2019. His first class, he was overwhelmed and cried, not wanting to go in. The coaches were so patient and kind to him, giving him one-on-one attention and eased him into the class. He hesitantly agreed to go to just a few classes, but then he planned to quit. That was over 6 months ago and we are still going strong. He never gives me a hard time about going to class and always has a smile on his face. He loves Budo and the coaches do an amazing job of making each kid feel special. Highly recommend!
Budo has been a terrific confidence builder for both my daughter & son along with helping them maintain focus. I believe a big part of that is the coaches that not only have a great commrodier amongst themselves but also a genuine repore with all of the kids too! I would also like to point out that all the coaches know all of the kids names as well, pretty impressive!
Budo has been a part of my life for the better part of the last 18 years. The coaches have always been amazing, the best combination of tough and compassionate. Now that my oldest son is a Little Ninja nothing has changed. Not only is he physically stronger, he is more confident. The coaches go out of their way to instill a team mindset within the class, the individual families, and the Budo family as a whole.
My son absolutely loves Budo. He looks forward to going every week to learn new skills. The coaches are absolutely incredible. My son had ADHD and they are extremely patient and caring. Budo has helped my son’s focus in school and meet new friends.
My son started Budo a month ago and he loves it. The coaches are REALLY good with kids. We tried other places, but it's the coaches that makes this place special. Its affordable and has helped my son stay focused in school. Highly recommended!
Joining the Budo family has been a wonderful experience! The coaches really care about the students and work hard to help them grow. The family environment is warm and welcoming. My son is learning discipline and gaining confidence in himself. Thank you so much. I highly recommend Turing it out!
We joined budo martial arts a year ago and it has been a fantastic experience. Not only is my son learning martial arts but he is also learning valuable skills like how to diffuse a heated situation and conflict resolution. The coaches are caring and patient and they are great role models. The facility is clean organized and well run.
We have been nothing but grateful for all Budo has done for our family. Our girls have grow strong and have learned to protect themselves and as a father that is all I could ask for. The girls look up to the coaches and have learned not only to respect not only them but all adults. It’s a joint effort between the coaches my wife and I as the learning doesn’t stop at the doors of Budo. My wife and I continue to work with the girls practicing the skills they learn both the physical stuff and the mental stuff. We as parents learn from the coaches as well and at times look to them in order to get our point across to the girls because sometimes no matter what we say they listen to the coaches better than they listen to us. So if you are looking for a martial arts program for you or your child or even both come check out Budo in Voorhees. You will not be disappointed!!!
Budo is a great place to learn new skills, make new friends, and have a great time. The coaches here go above and beyond every class with every student. They have done so much to improve the confidence, agility, for my step son to handle any situation. The best part, reduced his anxiety to feel comfortable and cofident in everything he does outside the gym. The coaches have taught him so much I can’t begin to thank them enough. All I can say is stop by, meet the coaches, take or watch a class and you will see how this place is such an amazing environment. Update: 2019/11/20, something I just noticed. We have guests over and Cameron is working with another adult to build a gingerbread house. This is something he has never done in the past. I am very happy to tell all the coaches thanks for instilling confidence in him to work and take instruction from another adult not of his immediate family.
My son's been going to Budo for almost 6 months. For being on the birthday cutoff for Kindergarten, we weren't sure whether to push him on or hold him back. He had the smarts but he's small. With the training from Budo, he's excelling and we couldn't be prouder. The culture the coaches have built & the positivity/motivation they give the kids is such a great thing to be a part of!
We signed our son up at Budo as a birthday present 1.5 years ago. In that time he has overcome his shyness and become more confident besides learning discipline and how to defend himself. The Coaches at Budo inspire their students to challenge themselves and they lead by example. They are the best part of this school.
Both of my children have had a wonderful experience at Budo, and I couldn’t be more grateful! The coaches are AMAZING and are truly invested in each child’s success as a person as well as a budding martial artist. They get to know each child and are very patient in helping each kid meet his/her own challenges so that they can be successful and can become a stronger, more confident, more focused individual. I have been so exited to see each of my kids grow and develop as they have continued coming to Budo, and the coaches have made the learning fun! They have been so supportive to my family and I’m thrilled to bring my kids to class each week!
When my son first started at Budo I had no idea that the coaches & practices would impact my son the way they have! He has learned to listen more, think creatively and learn to defend himself. He always wanted to do 1 of the more popular sports such as basketball or football but lacked the confidence to even try out. Now he has a confidence that he can do anything by just trying. Budo Coaches are so hands on & their love for the kids is endless. They reach out to you & inquire how they can help beyond lesson practices. For example if your child is showing resistance at home with homework or chores they will take the time to talk 1 on 1 with the student & remain neutral while advising the student of the impact their actions have & the importance of responsibilities. Budo full range martial arts is a Family unit!
The coaches are great. Patient, caring, and go the extra mile for all of the kids. My son has been going since April and he has gained so much confidence, and focus. I recommend all local parents to sign their children up for Budo.
My 8yr old son and 6yr old daughter attend Budo and love it! It’s a fun, refreshing atmosphere that the kids absolutely enjoy as well as learn to be the better version of themselves. We love the positive environment where the kids learn discipline, respect, how to maintain a positive attitude, love for themselves, love for others and so much more. The coaches are awesome with the kids and the kids can’t wait to see them! The coaches make you feel like family and that is a great feeling. I highly recommend Budo to other families for kids of all ages.
Our 7 year old son is a happy, free-spirited kid. In other sports, that can get too serious at this age, he's the kid who's day dreaming on the court, skip-jumping down the field and "flossing" in the goal. We love that about him and don't want him to lose that spirit. But we also felt that it was a good time to help him learn how to focus, when he needs to. Budo has been wonderful for him in the few months he's been there. The coaches provide the perfect balance of structure and fun. We can see with each class that our son is eager to improve. And we see the pride in himself as he practices his moves at home. At Budo he focuses. And that focus has transferred to school, where he is improving and growing. But most importantly, he hasn't lost his spirit. He's still our same silly, happy, skipping, flossing 7 year old.
I have been bringing my son Ethan to Budo for about three years now. What can I say, they are great. Very patient with the kids, and always willing to work with you to make sure every child gets the most out of every experience. While learning the skills are obviously important, what I think is more important, and a key focus at Budo, is teaching the kids about focus and respect, for themselves and others. Teaching the kids the importance of making sure they are making others feel special. Whether Ethan becomes a great fighter is less important to us than that he learns to be a good person, and Budo helps us to emphasize this every day. As Ethan gets older, I’m sure that his focus on learning each and every skill will increase, but for now, I’m happy for him to have such great role models. Thanks Coaches!!
My 6 year old daughter loves going to Budo. The coaches are responsive, engaging, caring and personable. The coaches are committed to ensuring all members achieve their goals and are successful in all aspects of life. When you sign up to be a member get ready for another set of family members as you will feel at home. You will not be disappointed!
My son has been going to Budo for about 5 months now, and he has learned and grown so much. It has been an amazing outlet for him! The coaches are very knowledgeable in their field, and they always show positivity and encouragement in class, while making it fun for the kids. Highly recommend!
This place has changed my son's life in so many ways in the 9 months hes been going here. He absolutely love going twice a week and asks me every day if its "A Budo Day". The positive reinforcement and teachings at this school are second to none. The family atmosphere that is cultivated here is amazing. I recommend Budo Full Range Martial Arts to anyone and I often do! Keep up the amazing work coaches!
Our family is very new to Budo, but we are very happy. The coaches teach discipline and respect while keeping things fun, and they are incredible with the kids. One of the things that told me I was in the right place was watching them with littles when they are upset. They get right down to their level and talk them through whatever is wrong. I’m excited to watch my son grow with them!
If I could give 10 stars I would! All of the coaches are fantastic and if you are looking for an extracurricular that immediately makes you feel like part of a family, then BUDO in voorhees is the way to go! My son has been doing Budo for almost two years and now my daughter has started and they both love it. The coaches set excellent examples and teach great life lessons all while demonstrating the best way to protect yourself physically in any situation. I may have a third kid in there in a few years! Would highly recommend! Review #2: IF you want to join Budo, do it! Because they teach you skills you can use in the real world. Also, Coach Seth is really helpful. Coach T is super funny and Coach Joey and Josh are good to have around. So if you like karate and grappling, you might as well join Budo! (Written by Jaxon himself! --Budo Member, Age 8)
We first came to Budo in January, and my 5 year old wouldn't even say a word to the coaches! He was so shy and cried but the coaches never got annoyed it bothered. Instead they told me it was normal and that these are the kinds of things they work with. It was the first time I felt like someone was going to help me help my son instead of just make me feel bad or look past him. That day was the start of such a change in my son! He is growing his self confidence and certainly enjoys all the skills he has learned! My 3 year old can't wait to be able to take classes as well! Anytime my son needs a pep talk, the coaches are there to get him on track and push him just enough that he is opening new doors for himself, and it is so nice to watch him! I'm so glad we found Budo!
We have been a part of the Budo family for a little over a year and a half now and have loved every minute of it. We joined the Budo family when my son was just 4 years old. The coaches, the parents and the kids that we’ve met have become our second family. The coaches make everyone laugh and feel welcome when you walk right in to the lobby. They engage with the kids no matter if they’re students or siblings. The coaches bring out the best in their students and challenge them when they need it. Not only do they teach MMA and are passionate and dedicated about what they do, but they also teach the kids respect while they’re doing it. The kids have so much respect for their coaches and it’s such an inspiration to witness. We could not be happier with our experience so far and can’t wait for what the future holds for my son! He has built up his confidence, discipline, focus and integrity thanks to Budo - Coach Seth, Coach Josh, Coach T and Coach Joey!
My son Mark has been going to Budo for a little over a year now, the coaches are great and help in and out of class! They don’t just care how they are in class but at home and school also! They help teach them about if they are being bullied and other things as well!! We love it there highly recommend to anyone! They do activities outside of classes for the whole family to join in on also. I love how this is helping my son grow and learn here!! Shout out to coaches, they go above and beyond!!
My son started Budo classes some time ago. Since starting he has gained confidence in himself, his skills, confidence in a group setting, and has enjoyed attending his classes, earning he belts, and having a fun place to look forward to outside of school. He remains active, and most importantly he wants to go and talks about how much he loves his classes. I couldn’t say enough about the coaches and what they are doing in providing this safe inclusive environment for the kids to grow and learn as they grow up.
We are a Budo Family!! My son is 6 and has been going to Budo for a year now. The coaches do a great job letting us know exactly what to expect and what they are working towards in each class. If you need guidance with things outside of class, the Coaches take the time to work one on one with you. They really do a great job of encouraging him when he needs it! From barbecues to family night bonfires, We cannot wait to continue to watch our little guy grow here!
My daughter has been going to Budo Full Range Martial Arts since march/april, and the experience has been nothing shy of incredible!!! Every class, and coach has been better then we could have ever asked for. The way the coaches are with the students is amazing. Their patience and understanding surpasses anything i could have imagined. My daughter absolutely loves Budo, and the family bond they create makes going that muchmore enjoyable. I would highly ,and DO highly recommend them to abyone!
Great mixed martial arts place. My son has been a member (Little Ninjas class) since April 2017 and was 5 (now 6). Instructors here are very kid friendly. They not only can keep a child’s attention, but also try teach them values such as responsibility, respect, awareness, and others. My son has learned a lot and is still excited to go to Budo. Look forward to his progression in the future and the skills this teaches him and the self confidence.
My 6 yr old son with Autism, brain injury and motor delays has been training with Budo for a few months now. I am so impressed with the coaches dedication to him and the others. They have kept his attention and gained his respect and friendship. For Anthony, that is not an easy accomplishment. I have seen such an amazing growth in his commitment and his martial arts skills! As an Autism mom, Budo has been life changing for us!
M azing place for kids My son has grown so much in a yr....He has became more confident in himself. He gets excited everyday he gets to come to Budo! This places is awesome and it's all because of the amazing coaches like Coach T, Josh, Seth n Joe
My son has been attending Budo for a year and a half now and has trouble adapting to new environments and tends to act out. The Coaches of Budo took the time to really get to know and understand him. Not only do they teach self defense they teach focus and respect and truly care about the children they work with.
My 5 year old son and 4 year old daughter have been at Budo now for 3 weeks and they love it! They have so much respect for the coaches, so much so that they are better listeners at home and school because they don’t won’t me to “tell on them” to their Budo coaches! It’s not only teaching them great physical defense skills but they are learning emotional and behavioral skills as well. So far we love Budo!
After about 5 months of classes, my 6 year old son is loving this. Getting his first "real belt" made a huge difference in his attitude to the class. The coaches are amazing...I get a true sense that they really care about the kids. And, I don't know how they do it, but they remember every child's name...even all of the beginners. I love the messages they teach (how to be aware and diffuse a situation) as much as the physical aspects. LOVE!!
I absolutely love it here! Both of my children truly look up to and admire their Budo coaches and I couldn't ask for better role models. All of the coaches are amazing with the kids and the classes are a perfect balance of fun and learning. Their energy is always positive and I think the kids can really sense it. My 6 year old son and 8 year old daughter started Budo a little less than a year ago and it has been a great experience for both of them. My son tends to be on the wild side and has had difficulty focusing and controlling his body at school and at home. When he first started coming to Budo he was all over the place and had hardly any control over his body, thankfully, his coaches had no problem handling his craziness! Now, he is a leader in class and takes pride in staying focused and doing the right thing. I have seen a difference in his listening skills and focus at home as well. My daughter is shy and reserved around new people but has started to become more confident and looks forward to going to Budo each week. Her endurance has also improved when she is out on the soccer field. Another thing I love about Budo is that each class has time set aside to just sit and chat about things such as respect , self worth , dealing with bullies , etc. It is just an all around great place to send your kids!!
My 5 year old absolutely loves Budo. She is naturally very shy, but since starting Budo, I've seen her open up and stepping up. What a change I've seen from her first class to now. She participates and steps-up to the challenges that the coaches throw her way. She loves all the new friends she made and loves her coaches. The coaches are all super energetic and interacts with the kids perfectly. This has been such a confidence booster for her and I can't wait to see her grow in Budo.
My 7 year old started Budo a few weeks ago. To say he loves it is an understatement. My son has difficulty staying focused and is a little behind in his motor skills, so I thought putting him in karate would help. In just a few short weeks I have noticed some positive changes. Doing homework can sometimes be a challenge due to his lack of focus, but lately he has been staying focused. I have not been the only one noticing the positive changes his teacher called me to tell me how my son has been paying attention so much better in class. He is so excited to go to Budo every week (he counts down the days on his calendar) The coaches are awesome. In many sports it's all about winning and the part about "having fun" is forgotten. At Budo they learn discipline and have fun at the same time. I am excited to be on this journey with my son and watch him grow and learn through Budo. Jenn SooHoo
Budo teaches kids respect for themselves and others. The instructors become both mentors and buddies to the kids. The gave my grandson the confidence to participate and he is very excited and and can't wait to go. Budo also gives each student a book that is filled with projects they are to complete including having their school participate. Its a great way to include everyone in a child's life and growth. My son has been studying at Budo for 4 years and in that time he has become more confident and developed such a strong mind. He is a bit timid and moves at a slower pace by nature, but his instructors have been so encouraging and he looks up to them so much that he always strives to do his very best. From the moment we walked into this place we felt very comfortable. My son is learning so much more than martial arts, he's learning life skills.
Great program for all ages. My son started about 7 months ago and goes 1-3 times per week. Was super excited on achieving higher belt ranks and learning more. All coaches are extremely focused and determined to help our children, and their patience is undescribable. Whether it be for self defense, respect, or discipline that you are looking for for your child, I highly recommend Budo and the program the coaches run here!
My 11 and 9 year old sons have been training at Budo for just over 3 years now and they both absolutely love it. We found Budo after taking a number of trial classes at other martial arts schools in the area and knew instantly that this school would be the perfect fit for them. We were impressed from the beginning by the overall feel of the place which is warm, supportive and fun while at the same time being disciplined. Both of my children have gained confidence, strength, self-respect and respect for others thanks to their caring and skilled instructors. We are thankful to Sensi Aka, Sensei Carlo, Miss Sherry and all of the Budo instructors for the time and effort they put into this wonderful program.
My son started Budo over a year ago. Not only has his confidence increased, he's becoming a leader and helping around the house without being asked!! We love how the Budo instructors are fun, funny and show the kids how to have fun while learning discipline, respect for themselves as well as others. This is a top notch program for kids of all ages!
Budo Martial Arts has helped my son grow into a more confident, strong and focused child. Sensei Aka is always there encouraging him to do his best in all aspects of life. Aka cares about his students and is able to see what each individual child needs. Budo teaches life skills and creates a supportive environment where one learns how to respect themselves and others. I am truly thankful we found this wonderful program!
There are good things I can say about Budo but also not so good experience. Coaches are great with the kids and my kids enjoyed the time at Budo. Recently both my daughters showed some interest in Gymnastics and my wife and I want them to experience as much as possible and find what they like and are comfortable with. With that being said, when it was time to part ways with Budo we followed the 30 day out policy that is required. I spoke with Coach Josh on September 18th (the day we had class at Budo) and the billing cycle is apparently on the 15th of the month. We paid the Sept 18th payment and when it came around to Oct 18th we were billed for only 1 of our kids. When both my wife and I chatted with Budo they said that was the policy and there is nothing they can do. Very weird situation and doesn't make much sense to me that if that's the policy you would have billed for both. Seems a bit off and the billing practices seem a little unethical. For this reason, we unfortunately would not recommend Budo and any more friends, family or folks in our community.
I want to share my experience with Budo Voorhees Martial Arts. Unfortunately, it has not been positive. The main issue is their strict cancellation policy, which does not allow for any flexibility or refunds—even if a child loses interest or circumstances change. and we wanted to stop the lesson, they persuaded us and continue to do it, they deducted us for 3 months, the kids didn`t take the lesson anymore, but they said"no refund" to us, they signed the new agreement when you didn`t finish the last agreement, the agreement is full of unfair terms and the different client has different payment, they requested us to pay the addition fee ---the last two months fee besides we have paid every month when we registered, other parent didn`t have this requirement, it was racism. I wouldn't recommend this place if you're looking for flexibility or understanding when it comes to cancellations.
