I am a middle-aged woman, and I joined Muay Thai in September 2024. Before my trial, I was both afraid and excited. As it turned out, the trial really fired me up, and I signed up for membership in Muay Thai.
I’ve always been interested in Muay Thai. I knew that it was a traditional martial art from Thailand. I had been taking cardio kickboxing for 5 years, but I had always desired a more intensive form of training in a martial art.
Since I joined Muay Thai, I have now gained:
- Great full body workout including cardio
- Classes that focus on technique (this is brain exercise for me)
- I always have a good partner who helps me and pushes me
- Coach Will provides one-on-one instruction to everyone equally
- I am not comfortable sparring, and my coach and classmates are supportive of that
This school is for all levels, and we all respect each other. Coach Will always preaches, “No ego in this class. We are not here to beat up our teammates.”
I am very lucky that the school is located near me. Some of my teammates drive in from the next state (New Hampshire). The community and culture built by Professor Jose (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu) and Coach Will are truly special.
Can’t say enough good things about BTT Westford! I started jiu jitsu here first, but then started muay thai in the last few months. Professor Jose and Coach Will are fantastic. Both are incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and happy to help walk you through techniques. The community that BTT Westford has fostered is incredibly amazing as well; everyone is so welcoming and encouraging. I always look forward to attending each class. If you’ve ever thought about trying martial arts, take a class here!!!
This gym is awesome for anyone looking to learn BJJ, whether you're a beginner or experienced. The vibe is friendly and relaxed, with no egos and everyone is super helpful. The instructors are great at explaining things and give you lots of tips to improve your skills.
The space is clean, with plenty of room to train, and they have all the gear you need. They offer different classes, so you can pick what works best for you, whether it’s gi, no-gi, or focusing on certain moves.
If you want to learn BJJ and have a good time doing it, this gym is a great place to start. You’ll feel welcome and definitely improve!
I can’t say enough good things about this gym! Coach Roth and Professor Hermoza have done a great job with this gym. My daughter is super shy and not very confident so it was a shock to us when after her Muay Thai trial class with Coach Roth she told us she wanted to sign up full time. He does a great job with the kids and they all seem to enjoy themselves there. I have trained with Coach Roth as well and he is very knowledgeable, professional, as well as respectful. I have not trained with Professor Hermoza yet as I train BJJ at a different gym but I have watched one of his classes. Professor Hermoza seemed very knowledgeable in BJJ and looked like a great instructor. I would absolutely train with him if given the chance. Whether you are looking to do Muay Thai, BJJ, or both I highly recommend this gym if you live in the Westford area.
I have been training at BTT for 3 months and I can honestly say it has been an amazing experience. Professor Jose is kind and a wonderful coach, he is very supportive and will walk you through the technique. Coach Will who runs Muy Thai is an excellent coach. Not only does he take time to work with students on one on but will also listen to any concerns his students may have. 12/10 would recommend this gym to anyone who wants to start martial arts, it is a family and they work as a team.
We have two kids in the kids Muay Thai program at BTT Westford. One of them didn’t even want to try it at first but after her first class with Coach Will she wanted to join the class. Coach Will is a great person and coach (his patience is something to admire) kids gravitate to him. All the kids in this class love their coach and think of him as a friend. I highly recommend BTT Westford kids Muay Thai program to help with kids discipline and self confidence.
Can’t recommend BTT Westford enough. Professor Jose is a great coach and you can see his passion for BJJ through his teaching. The culture created here really is like a family, there are no egos and everyone helps each other. I joined the team September 2023 and in 6 months I’ve been able to lose 30lbs without starving myself. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu has become a way of life for me in my late 30s thanks to Prof. Jose.
Amazing team and professors at BTT Westford. This was my first experience going to a NoGi class and I felt welcomed as soon as I walked in the door. I was anxious going into class as someone without much experience, but Professor Jose and everyone there made me feel like I had been training with them for months. Challenging and educational class, left with a lot more confidence than when I walked in. I’ll be back to continue NoGi BJJ and to try Gi. Highly recommend dropping in and consider training here.
BTT Westford is a FANTASTIC gym with a constant positive atmosphere!!!! It’s the perfect spot for new members who want to dip their toes into jiujitsu/Muay Thai or experienced students who need a new spot. Come train!!!!
Jose is a great mentor, he really knows his craft. You can see the experience he has not only on the individual accomplishments but also on how the class and the students treat each other on the mats. He created a family and it’s promoting not only martial arts knowledge but also values and discipline for life, you won’t regret it coming here!
I’m writing this review regarding their Kids Muay Thai class. Saying Coach Will is an amazing coach would be a major understatement — I’ve trained Muay Thai and kickboxing at other schools and Coach Will sets the bar high.
His approach to the style, emphasis on fundamentals (especially footwork) are exceptional (I’ve learned from watching classes). What I appreciate most is how he uses “games” to teach the children key skills without them realizing it. For example, he uses sensors to give the kids a fun warm up while also working on their agility, reaction time and speed. My son has flourished under his tutelage and looks forward to coming to class.
I highly recommend Coach Will’s Muay Thai classes!
Professor Jose Hermoza, a 2nd-degree black belt and the head coach of Brazilian Top Team Westford, is an exceptional instructor. Having trained under his guidance for 2 years, I can confidently say he's the best coach I've ever encountered. His expertise in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is unparalleled, and his dedication to teaching is truly inspiring. I've had the privilege of taking private lessons with him, and his instruction is nothing short of immaculate. His attention to detail, patience, and passion for the art make every session a transformative experience. Thank you, Professor Hermoza, for shaping me into a better martial artist!
My experience on the first day at BTT Westford was incredibly enjoyable. Coach Jose greeted me warmly and provided great support, while my training partner was patient and helpful. I'm excited further developing my skills here.
BTT has high level world champion Jiu Jitsu black belt instructors. The attention to detail is second to none and taught in a friendly, informative and ego free nature. Glad to see that BTT is stretching its wings to other parts of Boston. Professor Jose is an exceptional coach.
