I came in as a drop-in because I am only here for the week. Coach Mike was very welcoming and was a great instructor. The whole class was amazing. It was my first no-go class, but the lessons made total sense and they prepared me not only for just Jou jitsu but some self defense. I highly recommend Bossier Jiu-Jitsu! My only bad thing is that I am only here for the week.

It is honestly almost unbelievable the hospitality, professionalism, and genuine care that you are greeted with upon each arrival to the facility! We have only been a part of this sport/team for a few months so it is all new to me but we have been met with such welcoming and encouraging arms from everyone that we plan to stay as long as possible!!!! Everyone wants to see you do well! What an incredible team of people! I feel so excited to be a part of it!

I’ve been coming here for more than 2 years. It’s clean and well organized and as a woman in this sport I feel safer here than in my own home. I consider this place my second home. Coach Mike and the other instructors and members are like family. They welcome you whole heartedly from day one. If I could rate 1,000,000 stars I would.

My wife has been going here for years. I’ve been a few times myself but I’m excited to start going regularly this spring. Great place with great people doing great stuff. Coach Mike and I are even considering starting a candy company!

Been training here since 2018, my son and I started out doing jiu Jitsu. Then we started attending the Muay Thai and kickboxing classes along with no-gi jiu jitsu. Whatever form of training you’re looking for, they have it here, or if you’re just looking to get into shape; Coach Mike has got you !! Adult coaches and kids coaches are phenomenal. The camaraderie is priceless. Great times with great people!!! Come train with us !!

Mike is amazing! I have always hated working out! But I actually love getting up in the mornings and training with him. He makes it fun and truly cares about everyone who steps in to Louisiana Black Belt Academy! He wants to see everyone succeed and win at life. I highly recommend going here.

I was in town for work for a couple days and they let me drop in for a class. Everyone was very nice and very good at jiu jitsu. No egos and nobody trying to prove how tough they are to the stranger. Mike is funny and makes the hard work more enjoyable, as well as being a good instructor. If I lived here, I would definitely train at this gym.

Great atmosphere for learning with many higher ranking coaches that are always very helpful, mike demonstrates very effective and practical jiu-jitsu for both street and sport and he's always friendly and hilarious while doing so The environment of teamwork and growing with your teammates he has created at this place is rare, in the short time I spent here I could tell that he truly cares about the physical and moral development of his students and anyone could thrive in this sport and life under his supervision Ten out of 5 stars

I started training a Bossier Jiu-Jitsu about six months ago. I lost around 20lbs and am learning practical skills that could save my life in a self defense situation. This is not a buy a black belt martial arts school that promises you the moon and takes your money. This is not for the faint of heart! The staff is friendly and accommodating. It’s a laid back atmosphere, but be warned it will kill your ego!

I have been attending classes for several weeks through the adopt-a-cop program and the benefits have been life changing. The skills and knowledge that the instructors pass on are priceless. As a Leo, the skills that are taught result in safer interactions between law enforcement and the public they serve. This is due to having an officer that is more calm and skilled resulting in less means of force being used. I strongly encourage all Leo's to take full advantage of the opportunities provided here.

Top notch instruction and very friendly people. I split my time between this and the Logansport location, and these guys are world class. Outstanding environment. There are some great gyms in Shreveport-Bossier, and this is one of them. Definitely check it out and see if it’s a good fit for you.

My daughter and I have been going here for almost a year. This gym has been a great addition to our routine. We choose to come try it out due to my daughter having a bully experience. I am confident that would not happen anymore with Mike Braswell and his coaches teaching my daughter. I have competed in competition since I started with this gym and made a great number of friends. I do not regret making the decision to join this gym!

I’m not sure where to begin, but if you’re looking to change and improve your life, this is the place to go. This martial arts school is well suited for all ages. Everyone from pre-school aged children, to senior citizens train here. But it’s not the building or the equipment, but the people. The lead instructor, Mike Braswell is a unique individual, who combines excellent teaching skills, with great charisma and outstanding character. He is a veteran martial artist, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Professor, phenomenal coach, personal train and friend. Is my review biased? Absolutely. If you’ve trained here, then you would understand why.

Been going here for over 6 years and wont go anywhere else, unless I move. Mike and his team are excellent instructors and provide a professional and relaxed environment throughout all their classes, from kids to adults. Best Jiu Jitsu and self defense training you will find in the area!

Jiu Jitsu brings people together like few other sports. On the mats social status disappears and everyone is an equal, except with respect to their ability as a Jiu Jitsu practitioner.
