One of the Super friendly BJJ gym on the coast. Many local kids go there and learning not just Jiu jitsu, to be a better person. Highly recommended!

Lasco BJJ is a fantastic gym for everyone, kids and adults alike. My son trains there and loves every session. Mateus is a brilliant coach who is patient, encouraging and genuinely invested in every student, whether they're a beginner or experienced. The whole team who help out are just as great, always friendly and making sure everyone feels welcome. What really stands out is the atmosphere. It feels like a family, where everyone supports each other on and off the mats. If you're looking for quality coaching and a great community, I can't recommend Lasco BJJ highly enough!

My son has been attending Lasco BJJ since the beginning of the year. and it has been such a positive experience. The team are incredibly patient, supportive and genuinely care about helping every child grow in both their skills and confidence. Since starting I’ve seen a huge improvement in my son’s confidence, discipline and resilience. He absolutely loves going to class each week, and the welcoming, family friendly atmosphere makes everyone feel included. I highly recommend Lasco BJJ to any parent looking for a fun, safe and encouraging environment for their child to learn Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. We couldn’t be happier with our experience!

I first brought my son to a “Parents and me” class. I noticed the care both the senior coach and other coaches took with the Kids and I knew this wasn’t just another JiuJitsu club, but a place that was investing into the next generation. As a faith leader within the city I knew my boy was in the right place. I since joined and almost 1 year later I too train regularly and have an extended community I belong too. Highly recommend weather you’re a “young Gunn” or More matured looking to regain your fitness and mindset, this is a great choice!

My 6yo daughter and I started here about a year ago, and we have loved every single class since day one. Mateus is absolutely incredible with the kids, his patience, encouragement, and ability to connect with them is amazing to watch. The classes were so engaging and fun that my 3yo son ended up joining too! The coaches, the energy, and the people at this gym are truly second to none. There’s such a welcoming and supportive atmosphere that makes everyone feel comfortable, regardless of experience level. The adult classes are fantastic as well. It’s a really safe and positive environment where you can enjoy learning new skills while getting stronger and continually improving. We genuinely look forward to coming each week and feel so grateful to have found this community. Highly recommend!

Our experience at Lasco Jiu Jitsu has been wonderful. I honestly didn’t expect my daughter to enjoy the classes as much as she does, but it has been such a pleasant surprise. She has so much fun during the lessons and always leaves happy. We’ve also noticed a beautiful change in her confidence. She seems more sure of herself, and it’s been amazing to watch that grow week after week. Another thing that makes it special is that it has become a really nice moment for her and her dad to share together. The teachers are incredibly kind and patient, and they make the classes fun and engaging for the kids. Even though the class is early on Saturdays, Zoe wakes up excited and full of energy when she knows it’s jiu-jitsu day. We’re really grateful for the positive environment the team creates and for how much our daughter is enjoying the experience.

Highly recommend Lasco Jiu Jitsu. I’ve been training under Mateus for just over 18 months and he’s taken me from White to Blue in that time. Mateus gives excellent feedback during sessions, and always looks to find ways to improve your game. I’ve now stepped into a few different gyms to train with mates, and I feel confident, and safe, on the mat rolling with all levels - White through to Black. Initially, I was nervous about stepping into the gym - but I’m so glad I did. Jits is heaps of fun, the brain gets worked harder than the body, and it humbles you real quick! Cheers, mate.
