Bubba and his kids create a wonderful environment to train and learn together. We take lessons as a family and techniques are broken down and taught clearly at a pace appropriate for everyone

It just takes one class to see that this is an exceptional martial arts academy. Great classes and are unwavering when it comes to safety, respect, and encouragement. The instructors are well seasoned and they have lots to offer. You really feel that this is a special community and there are no egos, just support for one another to be better each day.

This Jiu Jitsu/Capoeira gym is a hidden gem in our community. The coaches are passioned about sharing their love for the martial arts, fostering a warm, inclusive environment, making every student feel valued and motivated. Many parents get involved into coaching as well, adding a unique family-like atmosphere. The gym excels not only in martial arts training but also in building a supportive community spirit, especially evident during competitions. Highly recommend for anyone seeking a holistic approach to martial arts and joining a strong friendly community.

I love this place! I tried to start training Capoeira in many places, and when I found this academy I finally did the step to become a Capoeirista. The teachers are very knowledgeable and conscious about body movement. Here I feel safe training. They teach you how to take care of your body while training Capoeira. Music classes are awesome too; not many places take the time to teach capoeira music fundamentals to beginners, and they do it. Itaborá is also a very special Mestre. He teaches you how to connect with your capoeira and others thru love and respect. I encourage everyone to want to start this wonderful art to start here.

Mestre Itaborá is nurturing a friendly, safe, caring and fun environment for everyone who is interested in the martial art of Jiu Jitsu. As a beginner and a woman, I feel included and respected. Mestre Itaborá and the professors of the dojo are not only experts of this art form, they are also outstanding teachers of Jiu Jitsu techniques and its transferable skills in life. I am grateful to be part of this family. Love, Grace

We tried out 4 Jiu Jitsu locations near us and we knew that Bay Area Capoeira Jiu Jitsu was the one. Our kids enjoyed their free trial and Mestre Itabora and Coach Bubba are amazing teachers. They teach with focus and discipline but also introduce a little fun. You can feel the family vibe and how there's community here and we loved that about it. The parents of the kids are so nice and all the kids are respectful of each other. We would highly recommend to everyone.

I love training with Mestre Itabora! He creates a safe and inviting atmosphere. His classes are not only a workout for the body, but the mind and soul. Each of the instructors provide a personal touch to their classes and style of teaching, but all of them emphasize safety first. If you're looking for a capoeira, jiu jitsu, or tacfit class, I recommend trying this place!

Institute of Brazilian Fitness is a wonderful family run capoeira and Jiu Jitsu school managed by world class Mestre Itaborá. I recently started Jiu Jitsu for first time Mestre Itaborá is very knowledgeable, professional and experienced! I've been continuing to practice Capoeira at this place for a year and Mestre Itaborá, his wife Chitra and students at all levels are very caring, courteous and helpful. HIIT and music classes are also a great way to hone your music skills and get in great body conditioning. The price and level of attention that your receive here brings a great value. I recommend this place to anyone who seeks to practice either Jiu Jitsu or capoeira.
