Professor Carrique is a great teacher, everyone is friendly and willing to help out if you're having trouble with certain techniques. Class sizes are relatively small and the Academy is quaint and cozy. I've been to a few academies in the past and I have to say this has been by far my favourite!

I really like this place! My 6 year old just started taking lessons. The instructor, coach O'Brien is fantastic! He makes the lessons so fun and kids learn at the same time. He is so patient and always finds ways to engage distracted children. My son is always excited to go and literally asks to go back by the following day. I really hope they wont change instructor cause he's really great. Oh and also the place is clean and there's plenty of parking in the front!

I’ve had the pleasure of training at Barrie BJJ for the last eighteen months, and I have nothing but positive things to say. The coaching is excellent from Shaun, Brian, Dan & Luke. The environment is welcoming, and the training partners are supportive and skilled. I highly recommend for anyone looking to train BJJ in and around Barrie.

Welcoming atmosphere, filled with great people of all ages. Knowledgeable coaches with positive attitudes , and a great children’s program. Definitely recommend for anyone interested in starting BJJ , or students already familiar with the sport.

I have been training at Barrie BJJ for a year and a half. I can honestly say it’s the best club I’ve ever trained at. Shaun our coach is very friendly and passionate about teaching. Not to mention very technical and encouraging. My teammates are all very encouraging and great people. No egos at all. I highly recommend Barrie BJJ!

I love this place! Shaun is an amazing coach for Brazilian Jiu jitsu! He makes the environment positive and fun and has full knowledge of this martial art! He’s a good supporter when you go to tournaments and he's just an all around good guy! Totally recommend coming here if you’re looking to gain some knowledge and fun on an amazing art. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 The smaller classes allows you to have correct technique and form. Good for exercising, competing, or you wanna learn self-defense. It’s all here.
